If this is true, Obama best turn off the Bulls game and start working on those campaign promises!!

How many times did Obama show up in NJ? How corrupt is NJ when it comes to elections? It makes Chicago look clean by comparison.

Obama will dither this message away too. Not his fault he'll say. Could have been worse if he didn't show up there as many times as he did. Big ego. No results. That's Obama.
All right!!   2 for 2 tonight in the races for governor.  Congrats to Gov. Christie.  Good luck governing the great state of NJ, which I called home for 3 years.
And a collective bead of sweat rolls down the Blue Dog Democrats brow.
Politico says Obama isn't watching the returns tonight.

Bad news does upset him.
I am a resident of NJ and did not like any of the canidates. I can say that nj has had republican governors in the past and they have not changed the high property taxes or corruption in the state. Nice try christie, but you are no different than the rest. He be out before his term is over due to his history of bad ethics.
Uh-Oh.  2-1 indies for a REPUBLICAN?

2010 could be a complete bloodbath.
Polls are showing that not only are Independents flocking to vote for the Republicans in NJ and VA, but around 1/4 voters said that Obama's fiscal policies had alot to do with why they voted Republican in NJ (Christie) and also why they voted Republican in VA (McDonnell). Are you listening to the voters, Obama? Hmmm?

Myself, I am sick of both political parties, yet I hope that these Republican Governors return to small-gov't fiscal sanity and implore (by their example) that others do the same, since both parties turned into the Republicrat and Demican Parties.

Anybody (Dem or Repub) that does that (returns to fiscal sanity) will get elected and reelected. Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor need to pay attention to tonights vote.

Tonights vote, while somewhat about local issues, was largely about national issues and the voters sent a clear message. The only question is, will the elitists in DC get the message? If not, they will be unemployed come 2010 and 2012, be they Dem or Repub.

People are tired and getting even more and more tired of the fiscal insanity, and will keep sending a message at the ballot boxes (if need be) in 2010 and 2012 and beyond if the elitists in DC don't listen to them and OBEY their commands - because this country is of the people, by the people and for the people.
We needed this in NJ.
I don't understand the Obama references though..  I'm not a fan myself but many of my friends are and we all voted for Christie based on what we wanted for this state.  As for the 2010 election, I think my friends will still vote for Obama.
Ray from Arkansas,

I guess you convienantly forgot that poll that nj residents who were concern for the economy voted for corzine. Also, the president has over a 50% apporval rating in both va and nj. In addition, the voters in both states indicated that the president did not influence their vote. Nice try in spinning though.
I feel that we NJ residents (I am one who voted so I can complain) have just gotten the short end of the stick.  Christie doesn't know the first thing about the economy or job creation.  What he does know is what George W(oman) Bush and other Republicans say: lower taxes on the wealthy, cut regulation that protect people, and that will help my people because I don't care about the other people.

I disagree with Ray about the elections in Virginia and NJ being about national issues and I also disagree with the fact that this is all about President Obama. I do agree with you that both parties need to look in the mirror and ask themselves what they stand for. Nieher are living up to what they have preached.
I think that Pres. Obama is listening to the people, that is why there is so much bickering on his policies. I think that he is trying to hard to satisfy everybody and we all know that will never happen. Someone will always have something to moan and groan about.
I believe most of the issues boil down to stereotyppcal behavior. Both parties have tried to categorize the other in such negative light that a majority of the American people have been turned off to the entire process.
The President just needs to do what he knows is right in his heart and the rest will follow. Trying to please everyone will get him nowhere.
Many lessons to be learned here, but before the GOP breaks an arm patting itself on the back they should consider NY 23.
So the same people who turned a blind eye when the corporate robberbarons began the great swindel of 2008 are going to be running the show in NJ and VA. It's less an indictment of the President and more of our failure to learn from our past mistakes. Congratulations are in oreser I suppose now the people we bailed out under Bush will now have thier conservative in friends in charge of two states. Then again they may be too busy putting illegal aliens in consentration camps because from thier perspective thats the root of all of America's ills...of course they'll fail to mention how much money thier friends made off of all that cheap labor they took advanateg of to deive the housing bubble....good job congratulations..you get the government you deserve
Obama is going to give a speech this morning touting the fact that his stimulus bill is now credited by experts with "saving or creating" thousands of democratic votes in both states, despite the heavy losses.
