Confusion at Christie HQ about win

From NBC's Shawna Thomas
As campaign workers come from the back room to tell the press that Christie should be speaking within the next half hour and Gov. Corzine finishes his concession speech, no one at the Christie Headquarters has officially announced the win.

The screens in the room did not show Corzine's concession speech.

While the news is clearly trickling through the crowd, it doesn't feel like everyone is sure of the outcome even as people start chants of "We want Chris!"

YES WE CAN!!

YES WE DID!!
If Corzine is smart, he'll wait on the consession speech.  I think that he should contest the election results.  I think that there could be plenty that makes up part or all of the difference between the two.

I think that people foolishly believed the Republican Governor's Association when it implied that only NJ was in fiscal trouble.  The whole country is in trouble not just NJ.  Apparently   enough people swallowed that crap.
I have a question and I don't think anyone's asked this yet.

The GOP is crowing about the exit polling suggesting that Independents have flocked towards Republicans McDonnell in Virginia and Christie in New Jersey.

Question:

How many of the voters in the exit polling in both states identifying themselves as Independents would have identified themselves as Republicans just 1 year ago or 2 years ago?

In other words, is there truly a swing by Independents towards the GOP or are we seeing more voters who traditionally vote Republican but who, for one reason or another, do not wish to identify themselves as Republicans?
Republicans should get used to hearing Democrats concession speeches. They're going to hear a lot of them this time next year.
Seeing this was very strange, and then it was even more surprising to hear people interrupt his speech, yelling various things, including "Baba Booey."
I really feel sorry for the citizens of New Jersey.  Today is a sad, sad sad day for them.  I know that my New Jersey friends and relatives DID NOT want to see this result.

Good luck on your choice, New Jersey.  I hope that you do not rue to regret it.
Try to spin it any way you want FR but the reality is that a Repub beat a democrat in the deepest blue, over unionized, paradise for government bloat in the country.NJ is the perfect example of a state run by people controlled by unions and dedicated to lining their pockets at the citizens expense. Other than its proximity to NYC NJ has very little to recommend it as a good place to live. It is overcrowded, dirty, smelly and has the highest state tax burden in the country. Their school teachers routinely get paid 100K for 9.5 months work, retire at 55 at 70% of their pay and have citizen paid for health insurane for them and their families until they croak. (No medicare for these spoiled whiners). Teacher ads claim all sorts of achievement that the NEA says is because of the great teachers. These claims do not mention that the students are mostly from affluent families with kids who are by and large a lot more intelligent than their teachers. Interestingly the NJEA never mentions the fact that Camden, Newark, Jersey City, Trenton schools are also staffed by NJEA members and their results are dismal. The other public employee unions are just as overpaid and underworked as the teachers. Corzine was up to his neck in bed with these union thugs (literally in the case of Carly Katz!) and he had their big buck support and he still lost. Now if only Chritie can start changing the direction of the state. It will be a start but it will take years to clean out this den of corruption and more than 8 years of non democrat rule.
