The 'Going Rogue' Tour

Next week is going to be Palin-palooza with her new book, "Going Rogue," out Tuesday.

On Monday, she'll be on Oprah. On Wednesday she's embarking on a whirlwind, seven-day, 13 city tour that's sure to sell lots of books.

Here are some points after looking at the tour dates (released yesterday on Palin's Facebook page):

Battleground America: 11 of the 13 stops are in battleground states
Real America Tour? Not only is she eschewing the big cities, but nine of the 13 stops are in congressional districts won by McCain. The ones won by Obama are either swing presidential districts or places where a good potential GOP candidate could unseat the Democrat.
Bookends: The bookend states -- Michigan and Florida -- are the primary states that the Democrats had their delegate fight over during the 2008 primaries.
Potential for Fireworks: Her last date is in FL-8, represented by... Alan "Die Quickly" Grayson. We'll see if he shows up at that Barnes & Noble.

I will continue to hope that she goes away quietly. I do believe she was treated unfairly by the media. BUT, the perception of her is now out there and it seems that since leaving the governorship, she just says crazier and crazier things. This is NOT going to help us win back Congressional seats in 2010. I think her best role might be to quietly campaign in districts where turnout of the Republican base is the most important factor. In districts where trying to get the votes of independents is important, I just don't see her being of much help.

LOUD doesn’t = RIGHT no matter what side of the aisle you’re on!

We need a ‘center’ but given the discourse in this country… I don’t see that happening for a long long time!

IMHO it was Karl Rove who set this country on the path that we’re going! Prior to him and his divisive tactics I don’t remember a modern day ‘civil’ war amongst not only the parties but the citizens as well!

Reread the list. What, no Iowa. If she runs for president, my prediction is that Sarah Palin would not survive the scrutiny and toughness required to mount a campaign for a win in the Iowa caucus. The far right here will love her but Iowans, like the media, ask tough questions and expect real answers. She fell flat with the relatively easy questions from news anchors, no way she can manuever the backroads of Iowa. It didn't take more than a few weeks for voters last year to realize there wasn't much "there, there"; I seriously doubt she can expand her popularity beyond the far right base.

And actually, they're coming up with quite promising discoveries by just using adult stem cells which is really making the the "need" for embryonic ones a mute point. Although I'm not a Sarah Palin fan, I will always greatly respect her for her personal decision to keep her baby, even when she knew he'd have Downs syndrome. Her pro-life stance demonstrates more guts and integrity than most of these selfish and fickle politicians will ever demonstrate in their careers. The whole abortion industry is a selfish, and profit-driven machine that has caused otherise decent politicians to compromise and sell their souls in order to get their pockets lined with blood money. Planned Parenthood's founder, Margaret Sanger, was a blatant racist who wanted to "limit" the populations of those she viewed as inferior (blacks, jews, hispanics...). If no fiscally conservative republicans supported Bush's spending policies, why did the GOP Congress overwhelming vote to put them in place; if you're referring to republicans not holding elective office, why did they vote to re-elect him and the others in the House and Senate if they didn't support those fiscal policies? It is easy to say republicans didn't support the policies but more difficult to explain why they voted otherwise.

Thoughts on Sarah. Many pro-choice families choose to keep their Down Syndrome and other disabled children also. As I recall Sarah Palin expressed that she and her husband made the "choice" to keep the baby--choice. This is not a political issue, it is a personal one. It is time we stop making the issue into a political battle based on one's own ideology and respect it for what it is: a difficult and deeply personal decision and not anyone else's business. Sarah's choice was none of my business; and those who choose otherwise, is none of yours.

OBL likes Obama just fine. One thing Obama is, is a man of words. One thing Obama is not, is a man of action. OBL knows he's as safe as he's ever been since 9/11. While BHO goes around the world on his US apology tour, terrorists now have a little breathing room since GWB and DC left office. Until BHO was sworn in, the terrorists had the USs foot on their neck. That's not the case anymore. The US just was attacked by terrorists last week, and the US is dithering about whether it was even terrorism. OBL is laughing right now.
