Really, South Carolina?

From NBC's Domenico Montanaro
The New York Times reports that Sen. Lindsey Graham has been censured by the Charleston County Republican Party -- in a unanimous vote.

Why?

“For many of the positions he has taken that do not represent the wishes of the people of South Carolina, such as: passing a ‘cap and trade’ energy bill, bailing out banks and granting amnesty for illegal aliens.”

The local chair said, “The feeling is if you’re not going to uphold the platform, then why bother to run as a Republican?”

Graham's office pointed to the senator being "ranked the 15th most conservative senator in 2008 by National Journal."

Remember, Graham also voted in favor of Sonia Sotomayor. And reporters, who were camped out in South Carolina before both parties' primaries last year, will remember this ad:

President Obama: Great job with your stimulus package! Can't wait for you to be in charge of my family's health care!!
So Graham voted for Sotomeyer, big deal. She was getting confirmed anyway. She was qualified, didn't appear too drunk too often, so she got in. Now when Graham tees off on the Democrats, like he's doing with Health Care Reform, he has credibility, he's a moderate making clear statements on how the leftist agenda of the Obama administration doesn't fit where most of Americans are politically today. And those words make an impact, both with the moderate Democrates that agree with Graham, and with most Americans.

Good job Senator Graham! Good job!

We hate cats.  We think cats are a member of the 'skeet family.  We don't like them one bit.

We think they are at least as dumb as Sarah Palin, and probably dumber than the people of South Carolina.

We didn't like Bush, either.
He stunk.  Why?  Because we said so, that's why.  And that, people, makes it so.

Lindsey Graham is plenty conservative. But since he hasn't taken a blood oath to destroy Barack Obama even if he has to destroy America to do it,  I guess that means he's a liberal in the view of the Tea Party (as in Mad Hatter's Tea Party).
More and more states, now it's Massachsetts, are reporting that the jobs "created or saved" from the Obama Stimulus are all just a bunch of phony numbers.

The walls are falling down all around Obama.
Games-up community-organizer!
Head back to ACORN recruitment, we'll have another Republican Leader mop up after you leave!

Just like Reagan did after Carter's nightmare,
"buddy this, Whitherspoon", said Linseed Grahm.

...but all is well in the GOP!
"Lindsey Graham has been censured by the Charleston County Republican Party -- in a unanimous vote."

Lindsey, Silly Sarah is probably at the bottom of this censure.....  What in the world is happening to the Repukes?

Free thinking is obviously discouraged, NOT ALLOWED!  Repukes have to follow the Party Mantra, whatever that is!
A C C O U N T A B I L I T Y  2010  Need I say more?

Sorry Eddie, does not compute...

Beck is still a bombastic idiot

MSierra, SF

Okay, coming from you, well, not surprised…the compute thing I mean. Best sellers are just that.

Point, set, match.

I see Glenn Beck has 5 books on the NY Times Best Seller list at the SAME time.

I understand that's a first and a record.

Ed Crane, Middlebury, IN

Now Ed, why would a well educated man like your self read any piece of crap that glen beck writes. you told me to expand my horizon, reading glen beck tells me that your not praticing what you preach.

Jeff Evanston IL.

Reading just a little bit closer would have shown I was stating a fact, just that simple. Never once indicated that I, Ed, am reading them.

Like I said, best sellers are just that and to have 5 at one time is, well, Awesome.

Goodness, now the extreme right is even throwing an almost  extreme rightie under the bus. Soon all we'll have are Nazis and those like Nazis in the Republican party. Jack boots, brown shirs and a hearty seig heil to everyone, right?
FRead: Sen. Lindsey Graham has been censured by the Charleston County Republican Party.

Charleston County? A county? What's next, the VFW of Forest Park SC will censure Graham?

Lets look at the civil war, the very real civil war going on between the Democratic leadership (Obama, Reid, Pelosi) and the rank-and-file Democrats. You got 40 Democrats voting against HCR and Cap&Trade, and you got a dozen Democratic Senators revolting against the party in the Senate. You've got liberal advocacy groups running negative ads against moderate Democrats, and you've got Democratic governors/candidates that can't win even when Obama shows up. There's your Civil War!
Wanna-be's! But no guts to step from behind the screen and keyboard. Trash-smack talkers.

They know who they are. Just look above. ha ha ha
Sugar Ray, Downingtown, PA (Sent Wednesday, November 11, 2009 11:48 AM)

Should anyone dare to disagree with goddess Sarah and they are jealous? Pleeeze spare us the BS. Of course those who happened to disagree with the actions of Barack Obama are saints by comparison, right? Such hypocrisy is unbelievable.

eagle1776

People disagree with Obama’s policies. The one’s I referenced are those that make the attacks against her personal. It’s clear when you see them. Most of the time of the same gender which suprises me but belittling is normally done by insecure jealous types when they result to negative nicknames and go personal. Just not right. Obama is a good man in many ways being lead by wrong ideas and people.

Your rocket blast back was also unbelievable eagle1776 and a little warped? You're not green by any means, just jaded.
Graham's office pointed to the senator being "ranked the 15th most conservative senator in 2008 by National Journal."

------------------------------------------------

That doesn't count anymore...not with the tea-baggers and astro-turfers and the 9/12ers!

The ultra-far right now believes it is in charge and all currently sitting Republicans appear to be in danger of being "Scozzafavaed"!
Obama should be familiar with this nonsense. The Chicago City council votes are on such things like pulling out of Iraq, abortion, slavery, and on if they like Wal-Mart or not. Sounds like the elected officials of both Charleston County and Chicago have way too much time on their hands.
Goodness, now the extreme right is even throwing an almost  extreme rightie under the bus. Soon all we'll have are Nazis and those like Nazis in the Republican party. Jack boots, brown shirs and a hearty seig heil to everyone, right?

Haven't seen the MoveOn ads against moderate Democrats have you?
First and foremost:  Our thoughts and prayers are with our service people near and far who defend our right to cut loose on this and many other forums!  Thank you.  and while I have never served,...I have serviced, BIG WINK!

And Lindsay Graham is surprised that the party plans to feast on his 'moderation'?  Really?  They are driving the moderates out.  Not that I would have ever classified Lindsay as a moderate, heck, he doesn't even class himself as a moderate; but whatever weakens this sorry co-opted group from existence is okay with me.

I thought cannibalism was socially unacceptable?

You know, mr. simpleton, it has been said for centuries that Taxes are the “dues” people pay to live in a ‘civilized society’.  You are the same ‘breed’ of American that wants to tout how ‘superior’ we are to every other country and yet, we can’t even get the basics for our citizenship.  Instead of asking us to leave “our” country, why don’t you go practice your ‘capitalism’ in some other country?  Many would argue successfully that YOUR party cut taxes to a completely unreasonable and unsustainable level.  “W” didn’t ask ANYONE, least of all his base, to sacrifice anything to fund his misadventures in the Middle East.  And yet, we Americans bled literally and figuratively; while the country proceeded to make more MILLIONAIRES than any other country or time in American History.  Kind of makes us thinking people believe it was all “paper” math, not true wealth.  But hey, what could us educated, elitists possibly know about ‘fuzzy math’ other than what we witnessed your merry band of idiots practice for the last eight years.  And boy, howdy, they didn’t waste any time with their ‘good crisis’ (9/11) – their boots were sure dragging when the hurricane hit,…it was exhausting moving all that money from the middle class to the upper 1% coffers.  Ill-gotten gains much?  You betcha’!

Mostly we are interested in upholding the intent of the Constitution.  If that helps a minority group along the way, it’s really a bonus.  Separating Church and State is a Libbie’s Wet Dream!

Graham, McCain and the last of the non-wingnut GOP should form a caucus and go on a recruiting campaign.
Time to throw the lunatics out of the temple.
I'm thinking Bill Buckley is spinning in his grave.
PS.  I attended the Marine Corps Ball in Southern California just weeks before Ronald Reagan won his second term.  If you ever get a chance to attend a military ball, I highly recommend it.  It was a ton of fun!

Joe, There are 58 Dem senators and 2 independents that caucus with them, apparently you are not up on math but that means they come from more states the Cal and NY, Maybe thats why the people of the United States voted the Dems in, because they do know math.
Will in the I-4 Corridor (Sent Wednesday, November 11, 2009 12:36 PM)

You're spot on; and when Obama won states like North Carolina and Indiana, the repubs knew they were in big trouble!!

So what do they do?!?! Lead and organize hate-filled protests as they did last Thursday!! The Republican Party is in a complete state of both chaos, and in many cases, denial!!

The majority of Americans did not vote for Palin!!  And the majority that voted for Obama wanted our voices heard!! Unlike Dumbya, better known as Mr. 22%, he and his Party ignored our voices and suffered the consequences; those consequences will go into 2010, 2012, and any other 20!!
Who cares as long as the white tight republicans in SC can continue their diatribes against Obama, democrats, women, blacks and gays.

I do find it an irony that the very core of the republican party has voted for politicians and policies that hurt them and their families and not mine...funny stuff from the poorly educated, eternally ignorant republicans in the south...

To the Dems during the 1993 elections under Clinton
Anne Minter, Bloomington, Illinois (Sent Wednesday, November 11, 2009 9:34 AM)

You betcha; those 1993 elections were brutal on Clinton, considering there were NO mid-term elections in 1993!!

Oh the IQ of these nut jobs!!
Clinton said "You need to pass the best bill that you can".

Then that would be no bill at all. The government cannot manage something as large and diverse as health care. Why the Democrats think they can is a mystery. It probably comes from too many years inside the beltway.
Term Limits (Sent Wednesday, November 11, 2009 9:48 AM)

Yet the government manages Medicare and the medical benefits of our military!?!? Hmmm, me thinks you're the tea bagger that shouted out, "Keep the government out of my Medicare."

You betcha!! The government can't run healthcare, cries the senior citizen that is thrilled with his government run Medicare!!
If I were you Mel… I’d be stockpiling the good old plastic sheeting & duct tape right about now! Maybe some bottled water for good measure!
Feisty Redhead Roselle, IL (Sent Wednesday, November 11, 2009 12:50 PM)

You gave me a good laugh, Feisty!! I remember after months and months of research and investigation, in addition to billions of tax dollars spent, the newly formed Homeland Security Department's conclusion and shout out to Americans was to buy duct tape and plastic wrap to protect ourselves!! LOL!! I nearly fell off my chair then, and again today, after reading your post!!

I think of all the embarrassing moments, or comical if one could find some humor if only to remain sane, was the duct tape and plastic wrap speech!!

LOL!! Thanks again!!

Houston

Kind of like Ben Nelson, Evan Bayh, Max Baucus, Kent Conrad, Joe Lieberman, Tim Johnson, Mary Landrieu, Blanche Lincoln, Clare McCaskill, and Mark Warner? Any and all of them have felt the heat turned up on them from liberal groups because they don't follow the Liberal Dogma. And that's being done against them because they haven't taken the blood oath of the Liberals.
First Read,  I'm so "surprised" you had enough time and resources to find this theme to push to make the GOP look bad but yet evidently you can't find similar division amongst the Democrats?????  It would seem they're having plenty of division and spewing venom at one another lately (see Health care reform, see stances on abortion, see public option, see Afghanistan,......etc, etc, etc.  The last I saw the pro-abortion lobby may begin spending big bucks against pro-life democrats.  How interesting?  Wasn't it just a few years back all the liberals praised Rahm Emmanuel for running conservative candidates in more conservative districts?   Now the radical left is ANGRY.  But alas, only the GOP looks bad when its members go after each other.
...but all is well in the GOP!
Chip Diller

The GOP is better off then the looney Dems. See Obie's polls today? In the solid 40's now for Rasmussan. 30's are on the way for the O man. That's Bush terrority!!
Judging by the last post about Palin and this one that all you fellows that are running around crowing about how independents are going to flock to your side just ain't going to learn nothing by last weeks returns. I have been registered as Independent or No Party for over 40 years in several states unlike some of the newcomers that are to afraid to admit that they are somewhat responsible for the last political debacle that was visited on our country. As an Independent I can tell you the last way that you will ever get my support is to keep on pushing this culture war, Sarah Palin, Joe the Plumber stupidity on me. I want someone to get busy and legislate in one direction or another so we can go forward and get off this morality kick. I'm just fine with someone of either party black or white man or women that can honestly say that he voted in the best interest of their folks first and the country second. I'll take care of my own morals thank you.I still say we need bill limits instead of term limits. Make everybody stand up clearly and be counted and the people will take care of the term limits for the one's that aren't getting the job done.
I see Glenn Beck has 5 books on the NY Times Best Seller list at the SAME time.

Ed Crane, Middlebury, IN

Give it a rest, Ed!! The key to Beck's "success" is attracting an audience that actually yearns to be lied to. It doesn’t matter how many righteous fact-checkers assail him in print and on the web, because dittoheads don’t care that he’s lying, as long as the lies justify their prejudices. Beck's program is not just hypocritical; it is a celebration of hypocrisy for ignorant crackers, angry at smart people and strung out on the dwindling sensation that they are better than everyone else by virtue of their race, sex, nationality or level of bluster, because their character and accomplishments don’t warrant such feelings!!
Saint Dick, please get your "facts" straight.  GWB was always FOR adult stem cell research, just NOT FOR embryonic stem cell where a baby has to die in order to do the research.

Funny...haven't seen this reported on MSNBC.
I find it strange that the Fascist part (AKA GOP), Now doesn't like Sotomayor.

Too bad he had to vote for Sotomayor.  After reading the article in the upcoming Latina magazine, I'm sick of this supreme court justice acting like a demimondaine.  Who really cares about her fwb?  What a fake she is!  I only hope Lindsey enjoys at least 40 more years of the sordid details from the demimonde.
FREE SOUTH CAROLINA
Okay fellow lefties all this talk is worthless without any action to follow it up.  The wingnuts are getting aroused, so we have to make sure that we stay mobilized, confident, engaged and informed.  We can blog all day but that aint a vote.
Can South Carolina secede again, please?  This time we should let them.
Lindsey Graham not conservative enough???

The Southern Republican Party has been driven completely over the edge by the election of a Black Man as POTUS. They're turning on each other. A beautiful thing to watch.
