HRC: Time for Karzai to 'take action'

From NBC’s Libby Leist
Today in the Philippines, Hillary Clinton was asked about Ambassador Eikenberry's cables expressing concern about a troop buildup in Afghanistan before President Karzai addresses corruption issues.

The Secretary of State would not share what advice she has given the president about troop numbers, but she spoke about the need for Karzai to "take action" to address corruption.

"We're looking to President Karzai, as he forms a new government, to take action that will demonstrate, not to the international community, but first and foremost to his own people, that his second term will respond to the needs that are so manifest,” Clinton said. “And I think that the corruption issue really goes to the heart of whether the people of Afghanistan feel that the government is on their side, is working for them.”

HRC: Time for Karzai to 'Take action'!

Maybe HRC should tell her boss to do the same.
Afghanistan is a pre-historic wasteland of a country!  The people eat dirt soup, and live in huts made of poo.  Over 70% are illiterate. And we are expected to help nation built that cesspool!  I say, withdraw all our troops, and surround the country with nukes, just to make sure whatever takes over there don't take our withdrawal as a surrender.
Some clarity from the mainstream media.

First Read says: "The Secretary of State would not share what advice she has given the president about troop numbers . . ."

Like Hillary knows anything about troop numbers. Hillary knows a lot about billing records, and running off with papers from aides that commit suicide, she knows about vast right wing conspiracies, but she knows absolutely nothing about military strategy, nor about interns.
Enough with Karzai! He's only about as corrupt as a Chicago Mayor, so Obama should be fairly used to dealing with him. If not, Obama should send that weasel eyed Chief of Staff of his to deal with Karzai because he's about at the same slimmy level as Karzai.
Hillary Clinton does an outstanding job - she holds no punches.

That's want the hell we need - a tough, smart and straight forward Secretary of State to tell other world leaders - enough is enough.

That it’s time to be accountable and take care of your own damn country and stop BSing..

Thank you and GOD BLESS AMERICA
Hillary Clinton has no say in this; she handled the question just fine!! I'm glad she is where she is; a dear friend of mine convinced me long before Biden was selected as VP that it would be a bad move for Hillary Clinton; she was right!! Everyone would be placing blame on her for everything, she's much better off where she is!! Obama ran as the anti-war candidate, let HIM follow through with what he promised Americans!!

This will never be on Hillary Clinton, and anyone who tries to place it on her is a fool!!
Clinton said, “And I think that the corruption issue really goes to the heart of whether the people of Afghanistan feel that the government is on their side, is working for them.”

Karzai said "That depends on what their definition of IS is. Has Obama fixed the corruption in Chicago yet?"
The got to much dope to help us taer up their land he the  neates dressing drug lord i have seen in a long time and he knows we can't manuver around their that good so why is it that he hasn't been attacked if he has that much security he can go after them himself.
“And I think that the corruption issue really goes to the heart of whether the people of Afghanistan feel that the government is on their side, is working for them.”

One thing is for sure we know here in the states the government is not workin for the people. Someday maybe in the not so distant future the U.N. may be looking at deploying forces here to protect America's wealthy because the current trajectory this country is on is unsustainable.

Hillary!?! The people of Afghanistan give a rats behind about their central government - they don't have one!! Karzai is barely the mayor of Kabul, let alone of the country! What in the world is Hillary talking about? If Hillary is waiting for an Iraq type of democracy to just pop out of the dirt in Afghanistan, she's going to be old and withered before that happens. Oh, wait, . . . .
Notice Hillary is not telling anything, yet her answer today tells me she is on the side that thinks Karzai is truly corrupt, and the government has to work with us, before we come up with the plan on how and where to deploy troops.
Yes indeed, it is time for him to take action, he knows the topol of his country better than anyone else (or at least he should), he knows the hide outs and should send his own forces in to wipe out the terrorists hiding there, until he does he is just a member of the terrorist gang.

Ambassador Eikenberry - there hasn't been a stable or non-corrupt government in Afghanistan for 4000 years. Just what miracle do you expect to occur now to fix that problem?
Funny that we criticize Afghanistan for corruption when our own government is full of Chicago thugs.
