The AP gets its hands on Palin's book

From NBC's Mark Murray
The Associated Press is the first news organization out of the gate to read Sarah Palin's new book.

According to its write-up, Palin blasts Katie Couric over that infamous Couric-Palin interview.

She writes that Couric had a "partisan agenda" and a condescending manner. Couric was "badgering," biased and far easier on Couric's Democratic counterpart, Joe Biden.

She also criticizes Charlie Gibson.

She writes that ABC newsman Charles Gibson, who had an early interview with her, seemed bored by "substantive issues" stemming from her time as governor and that while speaking with her he "peered skeptically" at her over his glasses like a disapproving principal.

Palin settles scores with the McCain campaign, alleging that they gave her a legal bill for her vetting, and that they also kept her family members away from the stage on Election Night.

[S]he says that most of her legal bills were generated defending what she called frivolous ethics complaints, but she reveals that about $500,000 was a bill she received to pay for the McCain campaign vetting her for the VP nod. She said when she asked the McCain campaign if it would help her financially, she was told McCain's camp would have paid all the bills if he'd won; since he lost, the vetting legal bills were her responsibility...

Palin laments that she wasn't allowed to bring up loads of family members to the stage while McCain gave his election night concession speech, the vice presidential candidate having found out minutes earlier that she wouldn't be permitted to give her own speech.

And she lists the books she's read in her life and calls herself a voracious reader

She remembers being a voracious reader, favorites including John Steinbeck's "The Pearl" and George Orwell's "Animal Farm."

Thanks… then I’ve done my ‘job’!!!

Like I said yesterday to another Repubicant... it's my 1st Amendment too! So if you don't like it... well them too efin BAD!

One things for sure and that is when it comes to hypocrisy you & the rest of the right wing loons have a corner on that market!

The irony of your rant is overwhelming!  lol lol lol

Ps:  Proof reading before you post might be of some assistance in the future!

Have a nice evening Chet!
Who cares?

She supported Hoffman, costing the GOP a 150 year old house seat.  Romney can't wait to bring that one up.
Like almost everyone else in the world, I had never heard of Mark Murray until I stumbled across this post.

I presume, like almost everyone else in the world, I will never stumble across his name again.
Oh my. She can't handle Katie Couric or Charlie Gibson, but thinks we should trust her to handle real enemies? Give me a break. Go shoot some animals or care for your tribe of kids and leave us alone.
Boy, those criticisms of Katie Couric and Charlie Gibson are SURE to boost Sarah Palin's stature.
Palin is a voracious reader?  There are a lot of Little Golden Books available.  I'm sure that someone could read them to her while she colored pictures.  As to the rest of it?  It is laughable that Couric or Gibson either one were trying to trip her up.  Those were softball questions, and I think both were embarrassed for the idiot that she could not even come up with a newspaper that she had read.  Biden made it look easy, since he is familiar with the world.  Poor little hillbilly Sarah is too stupid to know that she doesn't know anything.
What magazines do your read is a partisan agenda? Sarah, it only seemed that they went easier on Biden because he could actually ANSWER the questions intellegently. Poor Sarah, it's everybody's fault but hers.

She remembers being a voracious reader, favorites including John Steinbeck's "The Pearl" and George Orwell's "Animal Farm."

Required reading for high school English class and I'm over 60, so what has she read since and how did it affect her life, her opinion, her fortune? But a lot has happened since she was in high school.

As a speed reader I can usually cover to cover get in 3 books a week on a variety of subjects. I'll bet Sarah reads signs, and maybe a magazine or two a year. Now that she is an "author" (we know about ghost writers, Sarah) maybe she'll get into more modern stuff and lay off the Steinbeck, Hemmingway,Orwell and so on.
Look for Lou Dobbs to surface as her campaign manager!
If you think Palin has gone rogue...you wait! I think her primary goal is to destroy the Republican party and emerge as the founding figure of the most absolute and radical party this country has ever known, outside of Communist Germany or China!
McCain sucked. He was reaching in trying to bring her on the ticket. She is so much more for the betterment of the country than he was.

There will be a lot of you betcha's coming from the Greenies on this I'm sure.

The folks in Grand Rapids are getting very excited for her visit!
Yeah, okay, Sarah!! Blame Katie Couric and Charlie Gibson because you're an uninformed idiot that couldn't answer the questions asked of you!! Yeah, it's all their fault!! LOL!! Blame, blame, blame!! Look in a mirror, Sarah; had you been prepared, or kept up with current events, perhaps YOU wouldn't have made such a jackass out of yourself!!

Let all who have best seller books speak up now. Others, can just shut up as they are only inexperienced novices.

Well, By God- if someone looks at ME over their glasses, I'm gonna damn well have something to say!!
"What newspapers do you read?" is hardly badgering.

Nothing to see here but Palin's continuing victimology.
YOW!  NOW I am having a Sarah Palin moment.....!!
2012 prediction:
Pawlenty/Palin vs Obama/Clinton

If Obama wins then John Kerry Sec. of State
Joe retires.

What do you think??????? Creationism at its finest!
"She remembers being a voracious reader..."
So, not so much any more, then? Of many reasons I would not want Palin in high office, the combination of certainty and a lack of curiosity rank pretty high. Reading widely is good for the mind.
The irony of your rant is overwhelming!  lol lol lol

Feisty Redhead Roselle, IL (Sent Thursday, November 12, 2009 5:54 PM)

Thanks for another good laugh, Feisty!! You're the best!!
I love Sarah Palin! She has my vote in 2012...
Dan in WI - check your facts before you post.  The Dems had that seat from 79-93.  It was *not* a "150 year old house seat".
Always everyone else's fault and never your own, is it Sarah? Way to take responsibility for yourself, but what should we expect of a failure of a politician that names a book after a sexual position?

This country won't be great again until Sarah is our Commander in Chief.
2012 Prediction (Sent Thursday, November 12, 2009 6:39 PM)

And Obama/Clinton would be a landslide victory; however, I want Hillary Clinton where she is!! As I said earlier, she came out of this just fine!! She's doing an excellent job; had she been selected as VP, everyone would be blaming her and giving Obama a pass on the difficult decisions he is facing!!

Nope!! I'm very pleased with how this has turned out!! As a supporter of Hillary Clinton's during the primaries, I saw an ugly media, a group of kids that don't even remember when Bill Clinton was president, or Hillary was First Lady, yet they obnoxiously parroted the talking points from MSNBC!!

Quite frankly, she's come out of this smelling like a rose!! And so has former President Bill Clinton, who has been called upon twice now by President Obama that we know of, once to discuss the economy and the other just this week to address the Senate and sway democrats to vote in favor of HCR!!

For someone who deemed Bill Clinton as "irrelevant" during the primaries, Obama surely hasn't taken the opportunity to tap into Bill Clinton's brain now; and who can forget North Korea, as Bill Clinton was the ONLY person that those poor journalists would be released to!! Me thinks Bill Clinton's words carry much weight; now if only some of those young folks who bashed him would step up to the plate and apologize!!

Keith Olbermann could lead that charge; however, is ego is too large for him to EVER admit he made a mistake in attacking the former president in the vicious and uncalled for manner he did!!
What I still find fascinating about this woman, is she thinks she's giving intelligent answers!  She is clueless that mentioning authors like Orwell, Steinbeck and Hemmingway only establishes that she made it through high school English.  She's just not smarter enough to know she's not smart enough and thinks everyone believes she is.  Thank God she never got any further than she did and pray she doesn't get any further!
What strikes me as very Odd, is that Independent Voter's gave Virginia away last election to the very People who wish the Skies to Openup & take them Home! The same kinda Religous Fool, who has been posting here today.

Rick,Ky

Earned yourself a name today now didn't ya boy?
Why do ordinary Americans even have to point out all the flaws?  As governor of Alaska, it is inconceivable that Ms Palin couldn't even name a major state newspaper (Anchorage or Juneau) or say that she has a clipping service to keep her up to date on state issues.  As for national or regional papers or news magazines, even if she didn't read them, she should have known the names of Time, Newsweek, US News and World Report,.  She was so worried at the time that she would be exposed as a fraud that she misinterpreted the questions.  In the case of the Gibson interview, she didn't want to admit that she didn't know the Bush doctrine, so she tried to wing it rather than say, I'm afraid I'm not sure what you're referring to."  Sadly, ordinary Americans saw that she was not presidential or vice presidential material, and Sen. John McCain will forever have attached to his "legacy" the fact that he showed horrible judgment in listening to Fred Barnes and William Kristol and choosing Ms. Palin for her "Wow" factor rather than for what she could do for the country. Energizing the base is not "Country First."
going rouge?  Ft. Hood, now that's rouge. poor choice of words sara!
Pat, Boston,

I think I speak for more than a few around here as to
what are your thoughts on this?

Who do you think is the better candidate?
Thanks much!
Feisty Redhead Roselle, IL (Sent Thursday, November 12, 2009 5:29 PM)

My thoughts exactly, Feisty!!
She would make a terrific president. She takes no BS from anyone. And I love it. She never seems to quit.
Pat, Boston, MA (Sent Thursday, November 12, 2009 6:15 PM)

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Pat; I also agree with you a thousand percent about Nancy Pelosi!! She has shown real leadership; I know many are upset about the Stupak amendment, as was I; however, I was not upset with Nancy Pelosi!! I was upset at the democrats that refused to accept that the Hyde amendment covers this (sadly), and they were more concerned with being re-elected than passing HCR!! It takes a true leader to get the Bill passed last Saturday, and Nancy Pelosi is a true leader!!
Seriously?  She felt like Charlie Gibson looked at her like the prinicpal does?  Then how will she handle it when ' Russia rears it's ugly head" and gives her a dirty look?

Give me a break.
Sara Palin is the large brown spot on the underwear of life, what a tool! She'll end up like Joe McCarthy.
Well, By God- if someone looks at ME over their glasses, I'm gonna damn well have something to say!!
Buzz (Sent Thursday, November 12, 2009 6:33 PM)

LOL, Buzz!! The maturity of this woman is that of a toddler!!
Oh goody. More chances to bash Sarah Palin and ignore Obama ruining the country.
In the lead-up to the 2002 Afghanistan invasion, which was generally favored by a solid majority, reluctant supporters and opponents alike said emphatically that if we take this action, we can't abandon Afghanistan like we did when we helped them expel the Russians, thus allowing and abetting the takeover by the Taliban.  Rebuilding and aiding Afghanistan over the very long term seemed to be a pre-requisite for action.

I see evidence mounting that we are prepared to abandon them again.  I see a lot of people here who seem to agree that we should just leave and let the innocents fall where they may.

What is a shame is that someone like Palin can get so much attention. Who really cares what a ghost writer says in a book about an Alaskan hick. Palin is a self serving liar, hate mongerer and exploiter. Only crazy right wing Repulicans could be interested in such a fool. It is interesting the way she blames others Curic and the McCain campaign for her problems. Some bad dreams do go away,we have heard enough.
So many people post here as if Sarah Palin is actually going to see what they are saying.
I think she was confusing Katie Couric with the entire Obama administration and its fanatical followers.

Partisan agenda and condescension.

Yup.
Many of the comments here are so hateful and vile they can only result from one emotional state: fear.  The insane, feral fear liberals feel at the mere existence of Sara Palin.  The kind of fear that does not arise from Sara's alleged deficiencies, but from the fact that they know deep in their hearts (if they had them) that she is a formidable foe.
WOW, it took her all this time to come up with that readying list? Wonder how long SHE'D have taken to respond to that 3am call? Or to something like 9/11?

It amazes me how much attention this perpetual quitter & victim of the liberal left gets... I mean seriously - this is a woman who had to attend 6 colleges to get a easy 4yr degree in Journalism but who can't string 3 words together for a coherent thought until someone writes it for her.

The Pearl, while an excellent book is less than 100 pages and my recollection of Animal Farm is less than 200 pages.  They are what we called in college, greaser books, ones you reported on when you were sliding for a grade.

Do go on,...
When asked about court decisions that were overturned that she disagreed with; she could not think of  any.  I do not live in Alaska, but I think a court overturned the amt. that the Valdes-Exon was required to pay the state of Alaska.  Correct me if I am wrong, but if I was the  gov. of that state I think I would have remembered that overturn.
Now that Sarah Palin has resigned as Governor of Alaska, she may have now set her sights on the 2012 Republican Presidential nomination.
I would like to give Ms. Palin a little history lesson...

Former Vice-Presidential Nominees who tried for their Party's Presidential nominations:
George Hunt Pendleton, the 1864 running mate of George McClellan, lost the 1868 Democratic Presidential nomination.
Charles Francis Adams, the 1848 Free-Soil running-mate of Martin Van Buren, lost the 1872 Liberal Republican Presidential nomination.
Hiram Johnson, the 1912 Progressive Party running-mate of Theodore Roosevelt, lost the 1924 Republican Presidential nomination
Earl Warren, the 1948 running-mate of Thomas E. Dewey, lost the 1952 Republican Presidential nomination
Henry Cabot Lodge, the 1960 running-mate of Richard M. Nixon, lost the 1964 Republican Presidential nomination.
Edmund Sixtus Muskie, the 1968 running-mate of Hubert H. Humphrey, lost the 1972 Democratic Presidential nomination
R. Sargent Shriver, the 1972 running-mate of Geroge S. McGovern, lost the 1976 Democratic Presidential nomination
Jack Kemp, the 1996 running-mate of Robert J. Dole, lost the 2000 Republican Presidential nomination
Joseph T. Lieberman, the 2000 running-mate of Albert A. Gore, Jr., lost the 2004 Democratic Presidential nomination
John Edwards, the 2004 running-mate of John Kerry, lost the 2008 Democratic Presidential nomination.

Former Vice-Presidential nominees who lost Presidential elections:
Charles Cotesworth Pinckney, who ran for Vice-President in 1800, lost the 1804 and 1808 Presidential elections
Rufus King, who ran for Vice-President in 1804 and 1808, lost the 1816 Presidential election.
Robert J. Dole, the 1976 running-mate of Gerald R. Ford, lost the 1996 Presidential election.

Former Vice-Presidential nominee who later was elected President:
Franklin D. Roosevelt, the 1920 running-mate of James M. Cox, was elected President in 1932.

So, as Ms. Palin may think that she has a clear shot at not only the 2012 Republican Presidential nomination, but, also the Presidential election, thankfully, history is not on her side,
as you can clearly see by these statistics.

I would suggest that Ms. Palin take her, now tarnished, beauty pageant crown and slip off the national stage.
Nothing but clearer proof that McCain made a bad decision but the people sure didn´t. The lady protests too much.
The only reason she can name those two books is because they were required reading in school.
