Craig out as WH counsel

From NBC's Chuck Todd
NBC News has learned the long-rumored departure of White House Counsel Greg Craig will likely be made official tomorrow. Craig will be replaced by veteran Democratic Party campaign attorney Bob Bauer. This is the highest-level departure in the Obama White House this year.

In 2008, Bauer served as lead counsel for Obama's campaign.

Bauer is married to outgoing White House communications director Anita Dunn. Among the reasons for Dunn's decision to leave was so that both of them weren't working in the administration at the same time for their own family situation.

Craig has had a rocky tenure, beginning with the politically charged decision to shut down GITMO.

It is not yet known when this change will become official, but it likely will be before the end of the year.

Palin can barely run for the toilet.  She is dishonest and typically is doing what any woman of a low character will do.  She is strictly looking out for herself at the price of cost to everyone around her.
I don't see what is "politially charged" about closing down GITMO.  The place has been an embarrassment and has caused us enormous national shame, and Obama promised to close it within one year of him assuming office.  So why is it "politically charged?"
how was closing GITMO "politcally charged" when Obama said that's what he was going to do during the campaign?
I know nothing specific about Greg Craig, but I take offense at your saying that his tenure was rocky from the beginning with the politically charged decision to shut down Gitmo.  This must be another one of those blinder things that all you inside the beltway political junkies wear.  For pity's sake, most every Democratic supporter of Obama wanted Gitmo closed, as did Colin Powell, assorted retired American generals and zillions of other folks who support the rule of law.  Those of us who campaigned for the election of a Democrat wanted and wants to see GITMO closed.  Is it possible you are engaging in a bit of projection here? Perhaps, even, inadvertently revealing your own prejudices and misunderstanding about what we Democrats saw as a major plank in the election of a Democratic administration.  We are pissed off cause it hasn't happened already!
How soon do we forget?!! I do recall President Obama taking ownership of the economy months ago and several people on this blog will attest to that. FYI, it has been recorded for the history books that Bush 41 (pappy Bush) negioatefd NAFTA and former President Clinton passed it. Those are the facts.

Evidently you haven’t been posting or reading this blog, if so, you would have know that. The dot com bubble brust in 2001 immediately following 911. I should know…after all, it is what I do as a professional. Speak on something you KNOW about as opposed to something you’ve heard.

(The rest of Anita's drivel not copied.)

Thank you for proving my point.  You have shown that ANY criticism of President Obama will not be tolerated by you, and that you refuse to hold anyone responsible for anything that has happened since January 20, 2009--except for the guy who left office on that day.  I also find it amazing that you could extrapolate so much from my post--especially that I am in the tank for Bush when I explicitly stated that he was deserving of much of the criticism leveled at him and his administration--and that you even went so far as to tacitly call me a racist.

Despite your assertions that I am new to this site, I have been reading it for months went I get home from work, but only recently decided to try posting on here, so I am well aware of your track record of intellectual dishonesty, ad hominem attacks, and all-around ignorance.  Your latest post displays this poignantly with your assertion that the tech bubble did not burst until after 9/11.  Try going to the Wall Street Journal Online site and pulling up historical quotes on the tech-stock-heavy NASDAQ, and you will see that it peaked in March 2000, had lost almost half its value by Bush's inauguration, then lost half its remaining value by the time 9/11 rolled around.  After 9/11, it lost a few hundred more points, which was small compared to the nearly 4,000 points it had shed in the previous 18 months.

Of course, you like to make up for your inadequacies as a commentator by claiming you're a "professional" and that it's your job to know such things.  If memory serves, you own an insurance billing company, so please excuse me if I fail to see how said position requires or endows you with expert insight into the intricacies of the stock market.  It really is not surprising, though, in light of other laughable assertions you have made over the last several months, including:

* that Cairo, Egypt is the birthplace of Islam; I'm sure that will come as a surprise to the more than one billion Muslims in the world who turn towards Mecca every day to pray;

* that a Muslim scholar in the 7th century BC copied a text on alchemy, which is curious considering a) Islam was not founded until the 7th century AD, 1400 years later, b) copying a text is hardly indicative of academic achievement, and c) alchemy is a pseudoscience like astrology, so that's like saying someone is a prophet for copying Jeanne Dixon; and

* you claimed that the Bush Administration essentially deregulated all of banking and used as your "proof" a long cut-and-paste discourse on the Community Reinvestment Act, none of which had anything to do with regulations passed or rescinded on banking in ANY era.

So, in short, Anita, do keep in mind that some of us out here are indeed paying attention and have the ability to refute your "facts."  Maybe next time you will remember that before mistaking condescension for superiority, name-calling for legitimate argument, and intellectual dishonesty for knowing what you are actually talking about.
This is one of the issues that I believe that the President and his team has mishandled. Rather than issung an executive order as he clearly had the mandate to do they instead horsed around with this and let the discussion get away from them going back to the scare tactics previously used. If he had simply issued an executive order and stood firm on making it happen one more divisive issue would have been off the table. This is what we voted for and was probaly one of the easist issue to deal with unilaterally and would have sent a much better message moving forward. Now it looks like they are going to lose a good member of their team over it.Good people are hard to find.
Sarah Palin's stretching the truth is another way of saying she is simply a liar.  If the campaign did not bill her for vetting, then she simply lied about it.  Another glowing example of the socio-pathic ways of this Alaskan hillbilly.
From 2 previous post about Sarah Palin.

Man, you libs are so scared of her you can cut it with a knife. On and on you go about her being stupid. Tell me, which one of you guys have been govenor of a state?

feisty? pam? anita? rick? eagle1776?

You guys make me laugh.

By the way, Patriot from KY, your post about putting God first and standing up to this socialist, freeloading, devil worshiping vermin was spot on. Most REAL Americans feel the same way.
"Craig has had a rocky tenure, beginning with the politically charged decision to shut down GITMO."

Wasn't that an Obama campaign promise?
ANOTHER OBAMA half-brain is leaving. --- that's good.
Just curious....but why are people leaving the Obama administration so quickly?
Kinda' makes you go hmmmmm, doesn't it?
ahh yes, censorship at it's finest
Sometimes we need a stepping stone to something else. Apparently Mr. Craig wants the White House as part of his resume, and who could blame him?  Anyone in and around the White House, especially with a dynamo like Obama in the big chair, can burn out but if they are on in years as Mr. Craig it can be worse. I wish him all the best and God's speed.

His replacement, Bob Bauer seems quite well qualified and I wish him the best too.

Of course the hate mongers will see something sinister in this 3...2....1
Why are people leaving the Obama adminsitration already? He hasn't even been in office for a year.
Dunn won't be on the payroll at the White House, but will be working as a communications consultant. It must be nice, in this economy, to know the Obamas so you don't have to look for work.
