As a late 40's woman, I have to say that my decision to support Obama was met by some with different reactions. My logic has been that for those issues that matter most to me personally, Obama won me over by a few hair's breadths over Clinton.

For this reasoned approach, I have been called a "self hating woman", a "traitor" and worse. Which brings me to the question of: If the whole point of feminism was to unshackle ourselves from not only male domination but also from traditional thought patterns and roles, then why are some women treating other women in a way that is blatantly patrimonial in nature. Like I have no right to think or act as an individual but must be part of this "group", never to stray from their chosen beliefs and convictions. BAH! It's as bad sometimes as the patrimonial system we have been fighting against!!!

They should be happy. The true mark of a mature movement and it's integration into the societal norms IS the fact that we have moved beyond these old, tired and divisive arguements and in fact incorporated the best parts of the movement into society as a whole. To a point where it's not considered "wierd" anymore but just normal.

As an American first, it saddens me that we have reached the point in this campaign of "us" vs. "them". I thought the Democratic party were better than the Republicans. Hillary is correct: We will eventually have a nominee. We will unite around them.

But, if we keep on trying to destroy each other and cause hatred, hostility and yes, bitterness within the Party, we will NOT beat the Republicans and re-take the White House.

Please...I am reaching out to my sisters and other Hillary supporters. Please lets unite and concentrate on winning in November. This bickering and divisiveness will destroy us and then we will have another 4 years of Bush. In fact, I probably will not be blogging anywhere until the primary season is at a conclusion so as not to let my emotion get in the way of logical thought. I invite others to do the same and start the healing process whichever way they see fit.

I am an Obama supporter and have been since the day he announced he was running so I have been on this whole ride, and while I have no respect for the campaign Mrs. Clinton has run, I must say that I feel quite sorry for her at this point. The contest is clearly over now, Sen Obama is the nominee, and I think Hillary should grant her own wish and take Mother's day off to be with her husband and daughter. She has had a great run, she came up short, now she really needs to be person of class and concede her defeat. I know some of you will say she has no class as proven by some of her campaign tactics. I too think some of her tactics were reprehensible, but I do believe that in her soul she truly believes she has the best vision of the future of this country and is proving very difficult for her to wrap her mind around that fact that American's have given that mantle over to Mr. Obama so now we MUST unite around him to insure that our great country will again see days of prosperity, and our children and grandchildren will see that we had the courage and vision to change the old ways of Washington before it was too late to save this world for them and all future generations.
