Just by mere definition, it would be an oxymoron to call someone a selfish politician. It obviously does not mean that they don’t exist, it just mean that for an elected public office, the last thing you’d expect is someone serving themselves, rather those that elected him or her. When Clinton was insinuating this and that about Obama, I though well, she is being a politician. When she claimed she was under sniper fire to garner up a heroic experience, I though well; she is trying to be a savvy politician who is pulling a fast one. After she blamed it on fatigue, I still had the respect for her because at this point I thought she was a brilliant politician who knows how to successfully lay great blame and recover. Right know I get the sense that we don’t even matter anymore. It is all about her ambition and to demand we elect her the President. As polarizing as she is and boy! Has she proven it, it will almost be impossible for her to be effective leader even if she has good ideas. I’m certainly sure that she heard that still running is futile but more so tearing her party apart, but does she care? NO. I don’t even think she is trying to show that she is a good politician, she is flat out being a selfish politician and for a democracy, that is the ultimate insult on the citizens.

Hillary failed in her attempt to win the nomination NOT because of any glass ceiling, veiled or otherwise. She failed because she does not possess the core values that leaders must possess, basic honesty and courage. She is only considered a "fighter" because she has no sense of shame. her only motivation is self.

There are millions of women who struggle against entrenched bias against them in every field of endeavor. However, Hillary was never one of those. She had the built-in advantage of carrying the best brand name in politics. She had the unlimited resources of her husband's earning power. To compare Obama's disadvantages of race and name to her advantages, makes his success so compelling.

Ther are hundreds of upcoming, deserving women in the Democratic Party. However, that does not change the fact that one must stay true to core values to succeed. Gov. Sibelius or Sen. Amy Klobuchar will be formidable candidates in 2016 if they follow President Obama's path.

My four daughters (as well as my 2 sons) are my gems and are all very accomplished (chef, attorney, future POTUS and future good at everything).

So, if this support and vote for Hillary is cast with the idea that she is the best (the basis of my support for Obama), no one should dare ask you to betray your country by not carrying this through to the end. However, if this vote is based on the narcissism of realizing a woman as president (any woman!), then shame on you.

Mark - They were arguing that on the Sunday Morning news shows. If the roles were reversed, Obama would have already ceded the nomination and joined with Hillary to fight against John McCain. Not to mention that if he did try to stay in, the Clinton campaign and MSM would be hammering him on his motives.

I think Hilary should stay in through May 20th because it'll be embarrassing for Obama to get blown out by Hillary in West Virginia and Kentucky if she's out of the race. But when she wins big in both states, he can just chalk it up to the fact that he was in Oregon and preparing for McCain while she was campaigning tirelessly there and they are states built for her to win in the first place. If he takes Oregon by double digits and get enough pledged delegates, then it's totally a wrap and they can immediately start launching preemptive ads against McCain in battleground states even if Clinton does go through the first week of June.

I think that "White Americans" comment was the nail in the coffin for the Clinton campaign with the Super delegates. They would have to produce a video of Obama selling nukes to Bin Laden for them to overturn anything.

I am a hard working 45 year old educated woman. i was a single parent of 2 who put myself through college to make a better life for my children and make myself independent. My parents are in their 70's and were blue collared workers. She says you should vote for her if you are a woman, over 40, blue collared worker and yes also so now her mother can be in the white house and of course Bill will also have all his women in the White House.
I am proud to say that not only myself but my parents will all be voting for Obama! We need a change and someone who is honest has integrity and crosses all cultural and racial borders.

Hillary running as an independent is ridiculous. First of all, she couldn't win. To run as an independent you have to go to each state and get a certain number of people to sign a petition prior to your name being allowed on the ballot. I suspect she might be able to get on a few states but certainly not 50. The end result would be to play the spoiler ensuring that McCain wins.

Hillary will of course not do that, because she is a party loyalist. Not to mention, she would not be eligible for the Senate Majority Leader if she were to do that. I hardly think she will destroy her political career to satisfy a bunch of sore loser feminists.

Sad sad sad--she's down to her last slim demographic. I really am starting to feel sorry for her supporters. Let go, Hillary, and let your followers have your blessing to go forward without hatred and division--it's all you really have left. If lightening struck Barack Obama tomorrow, you would never, ever get enough backing to beat John McCain in or out of the party you've labelled, lied to, divided and bullied. It would be the one big boost the Republicans need to take the White House. It just isn't going to happen.

Oh, I thought this primary wasn't about gender and race? If Senator Obama started saying such things about race ... the media would be outraged, and the public would turn on him. I can understand how she would want to talk about women on Mother's Day and that's ok but it doesn't erase the comments of the last few weeks. I'm her "demographic" of white woman over 50. Senator Clinton embarasses me greatly. I'm hopeful for a woman president one day -- but Senator Clinton does not, for me, represent the best of women and certainly not the best in politicians. It's kinda sad in a way.

Mostly jerks have commented here before now. How can all of you not see, it's not for her she continues, but for YOU, who have supported her and she does not want to let those loyal people DOWN! The press has done a pretty good job of crucifying her from the very beginning and all those jerks just fell in line behind them.....just like sheep over the fence...This country will not see a woman as viable a candidate as Senator Clinton in a very long time from now.
