John Edwards has opened his speech tonight with what almost sounds like the golden parachute for Senator Clinton to exit the race...he thanked her for running and called the entire party better for her campaign.

I find the timing of the endorsement brilliant:

1. Senator Obama didn't need the help in North Carolina.
2. He was going to lose West Virginia anyway.
3. This takes all the steam out of Senator Clinton's victory last night.

As for the RNC, they have bigger problems than John Edwards' endorsement.

John Edwards stated during his interview that he will endorse the candidate that he voted for. He was already backing OBAMA. He doesn't need to do on your time. If he had endorsed Obama before NC, HRC would have said it was because of that endorsement that Obama won NC. You can't have it your way.

i'm curious as to why no one has pointed this out:

HRC is a smart and savvy politician. we all agree on that, right? okay...so wouldn't you expect someone of her experience in politics, civil rights issues to be more careful in choosing her words with the press? yes, i'm referencing the USA Today interview. a dead horse. but isn't it ironic that that interview happened while she was actively campaigning in WV...where a lot of people have a hard time rallying around an African-American as president? NOT MY words/opinion. Nora O'Donnell was all over that exit poll info last night.

So, slip of the tongue on HRC's part? Um, no. I'm betting she knew exactly what she was saying, who would be listening, how it would help her, and figured the casualties she'd endure with party supporters/friends were well worth a strong victory in WV. regardless of her policies being better than Obama's, her experience being wiser than McCain's...I can't vote for someone with substandard scruples.

maybe that's what Edwards couldn't stomach any more.

Honestly Todd, why do you keep posting these statements by the republican RNC chairman. It seems to me that their message is now predictable. WHy don't you just create a post for them on the first of every month and then refer us back to them everytime they make those statements?

How can the GOP use the troops fighting and dying in a war that we were decieved into? What evedence do they have that this war was warrented? They use the troops play on our sympathies to the struggles that the men and women of our country face because of their failed leadership. They say that the Democrats are out of touch, but it is the GOP that are loosing their seats in the House and have lost their control of Congress in 2006, and are about the loose the Presidency as well. America is now realizing that it is the Republican leadership that is out of touch with Americans. It is due to the GOP that our Economy and Pride are "Dog Food."
