Michigan and Florida are very confusing to me, especially the way the media is dealing with the issues. Clinton DID in fact agree to penalize Michigan and Florida. She even said in New Hampshire that she left her name on the ballot in Michigan because she knew it wouldn't count anyway. Why the media doesn't replay these clips? Why the media doesn't display the agreement with Clinton's signature on the bottom? I don't know. But I do know that these two things are hard set in stone facts.

I agree that Obama must have found McCain's sore spot. McCain's responses are condescending and personal; I guess McCain can't believe a young, black, first-term U.S. Senator has a shot for the presidency. With responses like these, McCain may well have a stroke before the general election.

Then again, this could be part of a strategy to get under McCain's skin. If Obama gets under McCain's skin enough, then he could get him to blow his top. McCain has been known to have a terrible temper, but there isn't much video proof. Obama could very well be getting him so worked up by pushing his buttons on some key issues like calling him naive and afraid on the foreign policy front, then questioning his loyalty to the vets... that he could get McCain to go balistic in front of the press... or more likely at a Debate, when he won't have his speech writers giving him statements or sending out emails.

You could see his temper in the debate with Romney when Romney pushed him on the time table issue. McCain looked like he wanted to slug him. If Obama keeps pushing his buttons he could make McCain lose it during a debate. That would seriously hurt McCain if he looked like a raving lunatic.

What you forget is that McCain action will begain to validate the image of him as some one with a short fuse. I believe that Obama is getting under his skin ( he resents this guy's ability..and the fact that he took away who McCain wanted to run against Hillary) If he shows this mean hot tempered side in debates he is DONE. Espically if Obama remains calm.

if Obama fired back about an OLD MAN with OLD IDEAS everyone would say he was being unfair...watch out McCain.

Your ignorance is astonishing. The GI Bill is really NOT a military issue, it's an economic one which McCain, by his own admission, knows little about. Yes it pertains to the military, but whether or not one votes for it is dependent upon their understanding of whether or not such we can and should allocate the necessary funds for it. It's an economic issue, and Obama has every right to question why McCain won't support it.

But the truth is, McCain is only trying to "appease" his conservative base - he doesn't really know why he's voting the way he's voting! That's why when Obama asked questioned his decision, instead of actually debating the issue on its merits, McCain plays the war hero" card, as if that actually matters, which it doesn't.

But he better be real careful playing that card, because he can't just make ever damn fool ass decision he wants with the justification that all his military-related decisions are correct merely because he use to be in the Navy (and long long long long time ago). If he wants to play that game, then he'd better not try to start any debates with Obama about the constitution, civil rights, or the economy, because Obama has his own cards to play.

Make no mistake:

Senator Clinton is not going to concede ever. When Senator Obama reaches the number of delegates needed for the nomination, she will say that it is not official until we vote at the convention.

Although the media is slow to realize this, "the Clintons" have nothing left to lose, and they are trying to make sure that they are not the only ones going down with the ship - that is the only endgame.

The whole VP talk is just a ruse to create more outrage when Senator Obama chooses someone else - I can hear it now - instead of the focus being the new ticket - the focus will be "How do Bill and Hillary Clinton feel about being snubbed for the VP spot?"

And then all the usual suspects will make snide remarks, and they will all swear they are voting for McCain. It is now "establisment" versus "the people" and party affiliations no longer matter - the insurgency must be stopped by any means necessary.

Here's hoping they are not successful.

What people fail to realize is that Obama asked a valid question - "Why doesn't McCain support this bipartisan GI Bill?" and McCain, instead of answering the question, he just responds with, (loosely quoted here but I'm trying to make a point) "I've served in the military and Obama didn't so how dare he ask me why about anything military related - so there!" He never answered the question, instead he resorted to an angry, ad hominem attack.

I think Obama asked a valid question and, as a Gulf War vet, I'm curious as to why McCain didn't support this bill when it got overwhelming and bipartisan support. After Obama's question, I was waiting for an answer because I was very surprised to learn he didn't support and thought maybe he had a good reason and I was willing to hear him out. Instead he avoided answering the question! Very presidential of him.

McCain, instead of providing reasons as to why he does not support the G.I. Bill attacked Obama. He attacked Obama, saying that he has never served in the military. Okay, yes we know that, but it still does not provide us with answers to why McCain does not want to help out military with this bill. McCain is acting like a kid in the school yard, instead of coming up with something intelligent to say, McCain goes on the defensive. Just explain your reasons do not attack. And by the way, a prominent member of the Senate who has served in the military (Jim Webb) supports the G.I. bill. There are currently five scenarios that the Rules and Bylaws Committee will consider on May 31st with regard to MI and FL.

The last 3 trouble me because seating MI in any form with give zero delegates to Obama, but it's just my opinion. Scenario 5 is the only one Clinton will agree to, according to Harold Ickes. "AWOL" McCain couldn't even bother to show up to work yesterday to vote on the important Iraq funding and new GI Bill bills. That shows that he has taken a backseat to Barack and Hillary, both of whom could take the time to show their support of the soldiers and veterans despite their very active campaigns.

A lot of people seem to get under McCain's skin...just observing.

I'm fairly sure he won't be able to bait Obama to lose his composure though. McCain risks not looking tough but just looking so angry on stupid stuff that he looks unPresidential.

I also think he tends to use this "I'm affronted" kind of posture, to deflect the issue from the issues-oriented attack. I just don't think he's very knowledgable on the issues and though I greatly respect his military service, its painful to see him apparently trying to hide behind that.

Sorry to say it but that's what it looks like to me. Just watch him in the future. He's just not strong on the issues. Its ironic because he likes to put down Barack as inexperienced. Yet years of life lived do not positively correlate to knowledge obtained (speaking statistically). In plain English, Barack just seems to have a good command of the issues, even compared to 70 year old McCain.

McCain's temperment, scares me. Not very Presidential. And if he tries to get down and dirty with Obama, maybe he can look at how successful Hillary was with that (and I suspect she's better at it then him).

The News Agencies should send those Medical Doctors who work on Television, dispensing medical advise. Otherwise, we have no hope of ever understanding what is sure to volumes, and volumes of charts. The everyday reporter won't be able to make hide, nor hair of McCain's medical documents.

I suspect that that is the reason for all the preconditions that McCain, and Bush are so insistent about.

Many of superdelegates remaining aren't endorsing because the many remaining are supers that will wait for June 3 (called the "Pelosi Club" supers and many are first term congressmen/women) and some have said they will never endorse. Some want to hold the office they currently hold, but never asked for the superdelegate status and don't want it. They have the right not to endorse.

I read this site daily as it gives me insight into why the supers do or don't do what they do or don't do. It really has a calming effect on me.

I respect John McCain for his service and I'm sure he knows a few things about military relations. BUT....with all due respect he is clearly confused. He has confused so many things. He is not consistent with anything that he agrees or disagrees with. I have not heard him stay with one final stance. He can not lead this country.

McCain has shown to more centralized in his political career than almost all Republicans. He even considered once becoming a Democrat. The gig is up. I would also like to add that Obamabots continually try to post that all of the fatal flaws of Obama are okay and that all democrats are good with it. I have yet to find a living person who is aware of all of Obama's issues i.e. Rezko, Wright, Black liberation theology, Moss, Ayers, Hamas, Auchi, Faraquan, Members of MOI working on his campaign staff, Michelle, Sexist comments, bittergate, naftagate, aruglagate, sweetie x 2, Not proud x 2, meetings with Iran, and on and on and still supports the fella. Nice try once again Obama minions. These issues are a huge problem and do matter to the majority of TRUE BLUE DEMOCRATS and TRUE RED WHITE AND BLUE AMERICANS. Interesting about the "I was wronged" argument. I would posit that its a very different situation between Gore and HRC. It happened to Gore with no warning, he was truly a victim of a truly bizarre and fairly unanticipated set of circumstances. He also was wronged by the Republicans and a (apparently biased) set of judges on the US Supreme Court. He was not deliberate in his attempts to quash a fellow Dem. nominee.

In HRCs case, she is being deliberate, she had a role to play in all of this (her agreement not to campaign and not to participate in the FL and Mich races), she is not an innocent actor. She is directly trying to cast doubt on her fellow Dem. candidate's legitimacy. She is putting herself before Party. Al Gore did not do that, it was (I'd argue) far easier to remain his supporter.

The Dem. Party was not at-risk for imploding over it...we had the GOP as our enemy.

Yet, this has a tremendous risk of imploding the party.

Barack Obama may not be your first choice in candidate. But he is a fine man and he has done nothing to deserve this ire.

Like a poster said yesterday...it is getting embarrassing to be a Dem. I really feel they should just change the name of the party to Clintonian, that would make things so much clearer.

McCain didn't answer the question because he feels Obama doesn't deserve an answer, having never served in the military.

So in other words, if Webb or Warner had asked, then McCain would answer?

Consider the broader implications of McCain's attitude. Is he saying Kennedy was by definition of his veteran status qualified to be commander in chief, whereas Jefferson, Lincoln and Reagan weren't? Because if you aren't qualified to speak on military matters, how can you be qualified to command the military?

This could signal a dangerous point of view on Sen McCain's part. Our Founding Fathers intentionally established civilian leadership over the military for a reason. It is not part of the American tradition to assume only military veterans have relevant opinions on these matters.

That thinking is more akin to banana republics, and is the kind of rationale used to justify military coups.

McCain got a full scholarship to the Naval Academy for agreeing to serve. I suppose for him this was just a means to an end to become an officer in the Navy, since he was a poor student. He needs to realize that not everyone has formal Admirals in their family to help their career. There are many people who enter the military because they have few other choices. This new GI Bill will make doing three years of service more attractive as well as reward the brave men and women who make it through their current duties in Iraq. It is really unreasonable to keep asking the same men and women to keep doing tours in Iraq. The toll on their families must be horrific.

What is hurting retention rates is this pointless and brutal war. As well as the lack of regard that our government is showing for these men and women's well beings. So I don't believe that the increased opportunity for an education will hurt retention rates, but may help joining rates.

McCain is upset, because he knows he hasn't been doing enough and is on the wrong side of this issue. Obama has made fighting for improved treatment of Veterans a top priority in his time in the Senate.

I heard an interesting perspective from a veteran on here the other day. He implied that some career military personnell don't support increased education benefits, because it attracts people who aren't looking to be or suited to be career military people. I don't believe the current education benefits are causing this, nor will the increased benefits add to the problem. The problem is the lack of other opportunities for these people. And maybe just maybe, some recruits who come for the education will end up staying. But they should do so because they like being in the military, not because they don't have any other options.

As a veteran I personally take exception to McCain's war record.

Firstly, prior to being shot down and captured he was awarded medals every Generals or Admirals son would have been awarded in a time of war. I doubt seriously if they were actually earned. Maybe they were but I've seen it happen to other mediocre progeny (Patton's son to name one) so it's not a stretch to believe it happened in his case.

Secondly, he refused an unconditional release by his captures, denying valuable intel to his leaders regarding conditions, his fellow prisoners and quite possibly the location where they were being held. His duty was to escape and I think an unconditional release qualifies.

Get off the hero stuff! He was no Audie Murphy! He served, he got a multi-million dollar plane shot out from under him and he was captured. Not a stellar performance by any measure.

As a Michigan voter I feel our voters - and probably Florida's as well - are being used simply as pawns. No one I know has spoken about the need to have delegates from our state seated based upon the vote of January 15th. In fact all I have spoken to have expressed their feeling that it would be unfair as many of our voters did not vote - or voted republican in order to make sure their vote count. The primary election is still being described as "an election that didn't count" throughout media in our state. Residents in Northern Michigan are talking about $4.19 gallon gas - and lack of jobs. Sad. I can honestly say from someone who has followed the democratic nominating process that Senator Clinton is appearing old and faded and without relevance. It has become too easy to simply change the channel when she speaks. And I am in her 50's, white, female demographic group.

1) Obama became a Christian via the Rev Wright, 20 years ago. What religion was he PRIOR to conversion?

2) In 2007, Obama had the most liberal voting record in the U.S. Senate.

3) Obama has a favorite vote - "present", rather than a "nay" or "yeah" on key legislation that might pin him down on an issue.

4) I gaurantee there will be FAR more explosions going forward regarding this "Wunderkind" of a candidate.

About time for some profiles in courage by so-called superdelegates. Voting is all but over and Obama has won the pledged delegate count, whatever the outcome in the three remaining contests. The only thing holding together the superdelegate bloc, or flock, is the Clintons' pressure and that of Ickes, McAuliffe, et al.

Evidently the Clintons now want and may actually expect a stampede to be set in motion by intervention of Hillary supporters threatening the Rules Committee late this month, and sustained (to the detriment of the Party and partisan candidates) all the way to Denver in August.

Is there a better time for superdelegates who possess one to heed their consciences?

I respect McCain, but I don't understand a word that comes out of his mouth. He has yet to be consistent with anything that he says. He cannot runt his country and all the flea bags that follow him are no good to us. Hillary is working my nerves with this sexism nonsense, disenfranchisment, I do it for you crap!!!!! Enough already! I think she deserves to work with Obama somewhere, but not VP. My picks are Webb or Biden.

Sadly for McCain yesterday's response to Obama's comments fed right into what his party fears most about him - his lack of control when it comes to his anger.

Wow - he was not Presidential at all; he came off looking like a punk! Not a good look!

Obama's dignified response even made him, McCain, look more foolish.
