It does not take a fact-finding visit to Iraq to know that the Iraqi government is corrupt and ineffective, that the Sadr militia controls much of central Iraq as well as insurgents influenced by Iran in Basara and other locations. It does not take a fact-finding visit to understand that 130,000 or 150,000 US troops cannot win or sustain a policing action across the entire country of Iraq. It does not take a fact-finding visit to know that this war should not have been started in the first place, is not winnable militarily, and that having voted for the invasion of Iraq that John McCain has no business even running for Presdient of the United States.
