It was apparent that the agenda was concerned with which candidates could get the most delegates.

I expected better, but the members of the DRC quickly proved that their views were determined by the needs of the Candidates they endorsed or worked for. The DNC had an opportunity to show the American Voters that they could come up with a fair solution that would please the voters in Florida and Michigan, but that didn’t happen. I don’t think we needed a Solomon and a Sword.

It shouldn’t have been about 50% or 100% of delegates or half vote or full vote.. The key was to determine how the voters of Florida and Michigan might have voted in “real” Primaries where they knew their vote would count. The DNC could have taken a secret poll of the voters in June, but that would have been too easy.

The latest June State General Election polls showed that Hillary and Obama were tied at 44% against McCain. So the Michigan delegates should have been split 50-50. In Florida, Hillary had 48% and Obama 41%. Based on 100%, Hillary gets 54% and Obama 46%. Not that it matters but the popular vote could have been split that way as well.

The Florida and Michigan Voters would view it as fair since it was based on polls not flawed Primaries and the DRC and DNC would have proven they could rise above the back room political bickering we are all tired of,. Shame on them, shame on us.
The new math

This is what is at stake in Nov: Economy in crisis, housing crisis, health care mess, gas prices, food prices, the environment, wars in Iraq and Afghan.

We need to unite to elect a democrat in Nov. She needs to face it, accept it, stop all the manuevering to try to take it some other way than actually winning--and let the Party coalesce around her opponent. If she takes it further, to the Credentials Committee, the Convention, etc. she still won't win--and will screw her future in the Democratic Party. She still needs the Party in order to have a political future and if she hurts Obama's chances this fall in the General, she will have no future.

Get over it, Hill. You fought the good fight but lost. Be a big girl about it and get behind the winner--or risk looking more like a poor loser than you already do. And, by the way, it isn't because you're a woman. A woman is Speaker of the House now--and she was elected that by a male-dominated Congress. Men will vote for women, but obviously not enough will vote for you. If Nancy Pelosi were running for the nomination, she would have been a far more attractive opponent and likely would have won. So don't cry that you were beat as a woman, you were just the wrong woman. He has to compete as a black man, and that isn't easy either. You ran and you lost. Now be a big girl, stop your nonsense, support the nominee and figure out how you can salvage your future. It's going to take some work; the first step is to start acting like an adult.

The new math

Thanks for keeping us updated on the correct numbers. It does appear that this race is over and that the Rules committee has done its job.

Let's go after McCain!

The new math

S.P. After a public hearing in Washington, D.C., the Rules Committee voted to strip the two states of half their delegate votes, ostensibly because they violated party rules in scheduling early primary elections.

LaRouche denounced the decision as ``immoral, unconstitutional and totally unacceptable.'' LaRouche described it as a non-decision, in the sense that the matter is not settled, and will now likely be fought out at an upcoming meeting of the Credentials Committee, and perhaps on the floor of the convention in Denver in late August. LaRouche denounced the decision as a ``fraudulent concoction, ignoring the rights of citizens to be represented in the primaries.''

In earlier statements, LaRouche had condemned the idea of giving Florida voters half of their representation as ``a return to slavery. Except, even slaves were counted as three-fifths of a citizen.''
The new math

The new math

The only thing this does is extend the inevitable. Just look at the mess you have created in this year Primary election.
First, you have decided to choose the candidate by allocating proportional numbers of delegation to each candidate. Then you chose some magic number of 2025 for the candidate to earn the nomination. If you were smart enough you could have just made the rule that whoever gets highest number of delegates will win the nomination. In case both candidates get equal numbers of delegates then you should have weighed towards the candidate who received more popular votes.
Second, you should have created the rule like winner take all like in the Republican Party. Life could have been easier for you.
Third, you made the calendar to go primary till June 3rd. Then you want Hillary to drop out before your own schedule. Don't you think it is stupid argument?
Fourth, what the heck are Super delegates? In this primary Obama or Clinton will not be nominated without the help of these non-delegates delegates. You think this is democratic. Why this Primary Drama anyway? You should have asked these superficial delegates to cast the votes earlier on to choose the presidential candidate for your party that could have save money and energy to attack Republican candidate.
Fifth, Clinton received 50 percent of the vote in Florida and Obama received 33 percent and she received 55 percent of the vote in Michigan, with 44 percent of voters voting "uncommitted." That means Clinton should be awarded 105 pledged delegates from Florida and 69 from Michigan. Obama should be awarded 67 pledged delegates from Florida and none from Michigan. But you want to award Clinton only 87 pledged delegates out of 174 pledged delegates from these two states just because they did not follow your stupid rules. It's your job to listen to the people of Florida, Michigan, and every other state in the Union. Are you running some kind of dictatorship that it's your road is the high road?
Sixth, you are one of those people who disliked Hillary's candidacy. You people did not want her to run in the first place. Then you want her to drop out of race after she lost Iowa, then after Super Tuesday. You just want her to drop dead. If you have adopted winner take all, Clinton has earned more than twice the number of delegates received by Obama. This math does not even count Florida and Michigan. Yes, Obama has won more states than Clinton. But the fact is most of the states (Alaska, Idaho, Utah, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Wyoming, and Mississippi) won by Obama are Republican States. Those are the states Al Gore did not win in 2000 and Kerry did not win in 2004. If Obama is the nominee he will not win those states in 2008. He will win Illinois State only. Basically, you are handing the Presidency to McCain.
Going forward, DNC should adopt new rules for the nomination for the candidate for the President of the USA:
(a)	State Democratic Party will decide the date for the Primary or Caucus.
(b)	Candidate will be decided at the end of the Primaries or Caucuses.
(c)	Whoever wins most delegates will be the nominee of the party. If two candidates get same number of delegates, person receiving most popular votes will be the nominee.
(d)	Scrap Super-delegates altogether.
In conclusion, Democratic Party needs a reform before reforming the country.
Sincerely,
Shree Shrestha
4926 Tokay Blvd, Madison, WI 53711

The new math
My sweet lord,

If there were anywhere, by anyone, harbored any question about the reality that Chuck Todd has become the Man, the Go-To Man for political ananysis, the Man who backs up what he says with what he knows... today those doubts (were there any?) were vaporized.
