The superdelegates that haven't pledged may, in some cases, be sending a message of how they feel about this candidate. They also may be honoring the results of their states that did not vote for Obama. They also may be looking at what has happened since March and recognizing this man is so weak.

As this primary winds down, I believe we will see Sen. Clinton become Sen. Obama's most fervent supporter. She has stated time and again that she will work her heart out for the nominee. I take her at her word. She knows what is at stake if Sen. McCain wins the White House.

This primary season has been wrenching for all of us but now that it is coming to a close, let's make sure we keep our momentum moving forward. It is a very real possibility that Sen. Obama will choose Sen. Clinton to be his running mate. Try to wrap your minds around that and be as gracious about it as our candidate is, if it happens.

Job Creation

Boost the Renewable Energy Sector and Create New Jobs: The Obama plan will create new federal policies, and expand existing ones, that have been proven to create new American jobs. Obama will create a federal Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) that will require 25 percent of American electricity be derived from renewable sources by 2025, which has the potential to create hundreds of thousands of new jobs on its own. Support Parents with Young Children: Obama will expand the highly-successful Nurse-Family Partnership to all 570,000 low-income, first-time mothers each year. The Nurse-Family Partnership provides home visits by trained registered nurses to low-income expectant mothers and their families. (Important to me as a health care professional.)

Fully Fund the Community Development Block Grant: Obama will fully fund the Community Development Block Grant program and engage with urban leaders across the country to increase resources to the highest-need Americans.

Environment

Invest $150 Billion over 10 Years in Clean Energy: Obama will invest $150 billion over 10 years to advance the next generation of biofuels and fuel infrastructure, accelerate the commercialization of plug-in hybrids, promote development of commercial-scale renewable energy, invest in low-emissions coal plants, and begin the transition to a new digital electricity grid. A principal focus of this fund will be devoted to ensuring that technologies that are developed in the U.S. are rapidly commercialized in the U.S. and deployed around the globe.

Double Energy Research and Development Funding: Obama will double science and research funding for clean energy projects including those that make use of our biomass, solar and wind resources.

Foreign Policy:

Talk to our Foes and Friends: Obama is willing to meet with the leaders of all nations, friend and foe. He will do the careful preparation necessary, but will signal that America is ready to come to the table, and that he is willing to lead. And if America is willing to come to the table, the world will be more willing to rally behind American leadership to deal with challenges like terrorism, and Iran and North Korea's nuclear programs.

Bring Our Troops Home: Obama will immediately begin to remove our troops from Iraq. He will remove one to two combat brigades each month, and have all of our combat brigades out of Iraq within 16 months. Obama will make it clear that we will not build any permanent bases in Iraq. He will keep some troops in Iraq to protect our embassy and diplomats; if al Qaeda attempts to build a base within Iraq, he will keep troops in Iraq or elsewhere in the region to carry out targeted strikes on al Qaeda.

These are but a few of his proposals (in the interest of space, I didn't even include health care) which you can find on Sen. Obama's website.

I believe Sen. Obama has demonstrated that he has the temperament to make wise decisions under fire. He has run an efficient and fiscally responsible campaign. He surrounds himself with people of integrity. He knows how to treat people with dignity and respect.

The first one has one of the longest lines of political experience in history. He is exceedingly popular in congress. He was a soldier who volunteered to defend the United States in the Navy.

The second one has no real political experience outside of Illinois. He is tall and lanky with big ears. He even lost a few of his first attempts at gaining political office. He is an excellent speechwriter and orator. He is a good attorney and has a successful law practice.

So which one would you choose?

This is a trick question because both were already Presidents of the United States. The first one is the 15th President of the United States, James Buchannan. He is the President who mired us in the Civil War by declaring the action illegal but doing nothing when the south decided to seceed from the Union. He is largely considered by historians as being the worst President in American history.

He was followed by the other man who became the 16th President of the United States: Abraham Lincoln. Abraham Lincoln is credited with the end of slavery, the end of the Civil War, and unification of the nation. He became president at a dark time when our country was deeply divided over very polarizing issues. He had no experience in Washington prior to his Presidency. He is widely considered by historians as one of the best Presidents in American History.

I will not go into all of my reasonings, it would simply take too long, so just a couple...

1. Health Care, and really getting it done. Obama realized early on that costs, both for the individual citizen and governmental outlays would be huge. He has crafted a plan that recognizes this in my opinion, and also has the common sense not to "penalize" those Americans who by rate of income may not qualify for subsidy, but by dint of current situation, may not be able to participate. This to me is simply the most common sense approach, and does not force Americans into a corner, or threaten them with any additional governmental penalties.

2. The Iraq war, Obama clearly saw the dangers, and stood up to warn against the policy THEN: even though it was politically damaging, and earned him the disdain of many of our so called "experienced" leaders. He also realizes that pulling out the troops is in our own best interests; both economically and in the interest of National Security. He is willing to take on the name callers who cry "surrender", and act in the best national and international interests of this country; which again; many of our so called "experienced" leaders have not been willing to do.

I will leave it there for now, but feel free to contact me on the side...if you are like me; the more discussions Americans have about ISSUES; the more we can do to change things with an active consensus among us!!

To Frank & Carole - all I can do is look at the past 8 years. As a hard working American, am I better off that I was 8 years ago? No - I cannot even afford to retire because of rising fuel, food and health insurance prices. Obama has given me back a hope that maybe...just maybe we can work together and we can change things for all Americans, not just the wealthy ones. Will we have to sacrifice... maybe...will it be hard...probably. But I am willing to take my chances. Remember that he's been fighting a battle on two fronts - the democratic nomination and the general election. Once the nomination wraps up, I think that you will see much more "meat" in his speeches. And by the way...I am from Maine one of those states that don't count :)

I am assuming that you are a Clinton supporter, and looking for reasons why you should support Obama. Well, the short answer is, Obama is not being sued for campaign finance fraud!

I get the feeling that you are not going to be swayed, but I will try anyway. Hillary Clinton and her husband are two of the most corrupt politicians in American history. You saw all of the scandals during the nineties, right? Why would we want a repeat of all of that?

Obama is far from perfect. He has used questionable judgment in some of his associations. Still, he deserves the benefit of the doubt. Will President Obama pardon terrorists? I do not know the answer to that question. We do know the answer with Clinton. The answer is yes. I am disgusted that Bill Clinton misused his authority in that way. I was stunned when Hillary's brothers got payoffs in exchange for Presidential pardons. To this day, I cannot believe that Bill Clinton would pardon Marc Rich, whose wife, coincidentally, was a major campaign donor to Hillary. Small world!

The Clintons stole furniture from the White House. They rented the Lincoln bedroom out to the highest bidder, as if it was theirs to rent out. Bill turned the Oval Office into his own private brothel. Yes, it is our business, Frank. It was not just between Bill and Hillary. It took place in the Oval Office, and that makes it everyone's business.

OK, now for some positives. Barack Obama is one of the most intelligent people to ever run for the highest office in America. He graduated at the top of his law school class at Harvard. As much as I despise lawyers, I have to admit that I am impressed by that. Much has been made about his lack of experience. Hillary does not have much more experience than Obama does. Obama is 39th in Senate seniority. Hillary is 36th.

I hope you will consider all of this. Obama needs the support of Hillary voters in order to beat McCain. On the issues, Obama and Clinton are very similiar. Obviously, the same is not true for Obama and McCain.

Obama/Selebius in 2008. Integrity matters and the Clintons have none.

I've been an Obama supporter for the past two years since I read his book "Audcity Of Hope". You realize this guy REALLY understands how Washington works. He knows what needs to be done to get things done, he knows that the president alone does not make these things happen. He has said that he will load his cabinet with only the best, whether they agree with him or not.
Aside from this he is new blood and new blood is what we need. We had a very similar situation at the company I work for. Back in the mid-90's we were a company that had been in business for 30 years, we however were in decline. A 28 year old guy was hired and he had all these wild ideas of what he wanted to do with the company, many long time employees said this guy was too inexperienced and was going end up closing the doors. Instead he took his radical ideas and turned the company into a huge profit maker and unlike our competition we are still standing and stronger than ever, All because of this newcomer without much experience but a lot of vision and ideas. Obama reminds me a lot of this guy from work.
You are NOT making a mistake voting for Obama, there is no doubt that we will only be a stronger, better nation because of it.

We had a required class titled US Government (how appropriate).
For the class we ran in-school campaigns, nominations, and elections, of course that was late 60's. The mock elections of '68 were a real reflection of the '68 real elections. The process was condensed to about 8 weeks. The balance (28 weeks) covered everything else at the national level and connections to state and the local level.

In another section we set-up a mock trial, complete with appeal process. We had the assistance of local attorneys and judges.

If this is not being taught in high school then that is a down right shame. It is part of learning to be a citizen.

HE WAS AGAINST GIVING THE ENEMY A DATE FOR WITHDRAWL BY THE TWO DEMOCRATES AND YET HE COMES OUT WITH ONE.

HE WANTS TO GIVE THE PEOPLE TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS A YEAR A PERMINT TAX CUT AND TO HELL WITH THE PEOPLE MAKING UNDER THAT. THOSE PEOPLE DONT NEED A TAX CUT THE MIDDLE CLASS AND THE POOR DO. NOW WHO IS KIDDING WHOM.

HE WAS FOR THIS SILLY FEDERAL GAS TAX FOR THE SUMMER AND AS YOU CAN SEE ALREADY GAS PRICES CONTINUE TO RISE SO YOU WOULD STILL BE PAYING MORE AT THE PUMP EVEN WITH THE TAX CUT FOR GAS.

HE IS WANTING TO GIVE BUSINESS A BIG TAX CUT SO THEY CAN MAKE MORE MONEY, DO YOU THINK ANY EMPLOYEES WILL SEE A RAISE ON THEIR PAYCHECKS HELL NO. THERE IS TOO MUCH GREAD IN THIS COUNTRY NOW AND THEY COULD CARE LESS ABOUT THE REST OF US. THEIR GOING TO GO OVER SEAS NO MATTER WHAT THE GOVERNMENT DOES TO HELP THEM. THE REASON: THEY CAN PAY 2.30 DOLLARS INSTEAD A MEANINGFUL WAGE IN THE U.S.

I HOPE THAT HELPS YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT MC CAIN IS ALL ABOUT. ITS THE WEALTHY IN THIS COUNTRY NOT THE REGULAR PEOPLE.

Frank/Carole,

None of us 'knows' what will happen when whoever gets into office. However, as a Obama supporter, I am confident of his positions on our most important issues, healthcare, war, etc. Looking back over my time, and at past presidents, I can honestly say, it is refreshing to have someone who wants so much better for our country. I have never heard a previous president talk about making our country better like Obama has. He will only be as strong as his cabinet and his supporters. I honestly hope he will do what he said if he gets into office. I don't have facts, I rely only on my knowledge and understanding of what's at stake in this election. I refuse to listen to disgruntled people and all the negativity.

My sincere advice to you is when YOU are in the polling booth, vote YOUR heart and vote for who YOU think will be the better president.

Frank, fair question. I hope it's an honest question, as you indicate.

In addition to the policy-oriented answers above, I want to add something I heard Barack Obama say to Dan Rather on his tour bus (Dan Rather Reports, HDNet, about a month ago).

Mr. Rather asked Obama how he deals with mistakes among his staff. His response: We try to figure out what went wrong, fix it and move on.

As a management principal, I subscribe to the notion that people generally want to do the right thing. When mistakes are made, the worst thing you can do, I believe, is to try to find someone to pin the blame on (unless you are a "Dilbert" cartoon character). The way to solidify a team is to be objective about mistakes and be solution-oriented.

I'm impressed that this is at the core of Barack Obama's soul. I don't think he just talks about unity, I believe it is one of his "organizing principles." If I'm right, and I pray I am, he's the right person to lead the US at this critical time.

Frank, I don't know if that helps, but it sold me.

Okay, Obama fans. I'm an Independent and haven't yet made up my mind about who to vote for in the fall. Convince me why I should vote for Obama. Please, do not use the phrase 'Bush's 3rd term' or talk about change - Bush isn't running for office and Obama has yet to offer how he intends to change things. Please, no angry rants from Eric in Salinas or comments about how old McCain is, this is a sincere question.

The truth of the matter is not that Obama is weaker, inexperienced etc. the truth about this entire campaign is whether or not good ol' America is more ready for a woman president or a black man, and those Hillary supporters that say they will vote McCain should Obama secure the ticket prove this point. I support Obama for how he carries himself in the face of all he has endured; I support him because he is fresh and has good ideas, and I support him because I believe this country will benefit under his leadership. However, if Hillary were to get the nomination, being the true democrat I am, I would cast my vote for her. It is the unspoken that rings the loudest, and Americans have mastered the art of whitewashed illusion...JMO

I have to believe that Hillary will look at the big picture. If she and her supporters believe Sen. Obama is an amateur, won't she view her experience as bolstering him where he needs shoring up? Wouldn't it be in her best interests, and the interests of her party ideals, to give her all to getting a Democrat elected?

This is a huge leap of faith on my part, but I am choosing to believe that Hillary and her supporters, including you, will do what it takes to get our country back on track - that is, defeating John McCain.
