Today is a new day.
Looking at all the speeches last night, several realities come to mind. McCain is a very sad individual, a very angry man. His grasp on the important issues important to America is minimal, even minuscule. It is a scary prospect to have him anywhere near Washington DC, let alone the White House.
Hillary is defiantly delusional. She also has a macabre sense of entitlement by default; she must realize that her insistence on prolonging this process in hopes of somehow profiting on some catastrophe by Obama is yet another flawed attempt at election "strategy". The outcome is set; restating the obvious, she could have used her speech some willingness to merge her efforts with the Democratic party to ensure success in the fall election. Instead, she narcissisticly pursues this politically suicidal course of action guaranteed to make it difficult to have the party coalesce around the nominee. In her speech, it was imperative that she put aside her own selfish agenda for the good of the country; yet she persisted in this misguided attempt in pushing her flawed candidacy on a rejecting public. Obama should reject her pathetic attempt at political blackmail.
Obama was direct, conciliatory and respectful toward a vanquished opponent, and forcefully blunt against a warmongering buffoon. McCain/Bush are responsible for the deaths in Iraq, the failed economic policy, no health care and runaway oil prices.
Obama's speech signaled a true need for change. This change requires putting distance between himself and the old politics as usual of Hillary Clinton. Since she did not signal contrition last night, she cannot be considered for VP. Perhaps as she reflects on her colossal blunder of her speech last night, she will reflect on ways she can actively and enthusiastically support Obama with a vigorous effort worthy of her primary effort.
If, and this is a very big if, she is able to prove she can enthusiastically be a team player supporting Obama, and immediately stop the BS talks of popular votes, etc, she then could be considered for a position in the upcoming Obama administration.

I'm still not satisfied with Clinton's tone. Yes, she went a wee bit further than she did last night, but not far enough. If she really wants to help unite the party, and if she really wants Obama to consider her as her VP, she needs to do A LOT more in terms of conciliation. First of all, she and her supporters need to stop pushing Obama to make her VP. Next, she needs to endorse Obama and maybe even schedule some activities that would help re-introduce him to her voting bloc.

I really think Hillary's almost obstinate behavior points out why she wouldn't be good as Obama's VP. She refuses to mediate. She refuses to meet people halfway. It's her way or the highway. That's not the way Obama runs his organization. She wouldn't fit in.
