Today is the 40th anniversary of Bobby Kennedy’s assassination and I would like all of us – Repubs and Dems alike – to reflect for just a moment on his contributions to our nation. For those of you too young to remember 1968, RFK campaigned for change and racial unity and to end a hateful war.

Forty years ago we lost a leader who could have changed our nation and made our world a better place. It’s taken 40 years for someone of RFK’s caliber to pick up the torch and light the way. Barack Obama epitomizes all that was good and morally right with RFK’s dreams and hopes.

The world is watching AND hoping that we, our nation and its voters, do not fail again. Please, become a critical thinker instead of an emotional reactionary. It’s time to end the war – it’s time to end our racial divide – it’s time to heal.

I will not support him for President; I wouldn't even support him being a resident. I will not give money to his campaign; I would not save him from a moving train. He was stating that after the 9/11 attacks, his fear was that the anger/prejudice towards American Muslims was going to escalate as a result of, much like towards the Japanese Americans during WWII. Senate Republicans killed the bill Wednesday night on a 56-42 vote that denied the measure the 60 votes needed to advance it to full debate and a vote. Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., had delayed the vote to give McCain's Democratic rivals, Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama, time to return to Washington to support the measure, which would make it easier for women to sue their employers for pay discrimination.

McCain skipped the vote to campaign in New Orleans.
"I am all in favor of pay equity for women, but this kind of legislation, as is typical of what's being proposed by my friends on the other side of the aisle, opens us up to lawsuits for all kinds of problems," the expected GOP presidential nominee told reporters. "This is government playing a much, much greater role in the business of a private enterprise system."
