The only way McCain gets any Evangelical support is if Huckabee's on the ticket. Otherwise, I could realistically see more than a third going to Obama, which would be a HUGE upset. If 40% or more of Evangelicals go for Obama, mark my words, this election will be a landslide.

This will be a landslide anyway. Barack Obama has support from 10 of millions and Evangelical support would just be an add-on. McCain will not win, all he's trying to do now is get the media to stop putting out Barack Obama's message and focus on his. Even though he doesn't have one and he knows the majority of Americans believe in Barack Obama's message and that Barack actually has one. See not only does the GOP think the average American is stupid. It’s obvious they think the media is too.

GOP had complete control over the media in 2000 and 2004...now that they don't or can't control it.. They want to place some kind of quilt trip on the media.

It is funny, but when the true evangelicals actually compare McCain and Obama with regards to family values, the choice should be clear. One candidate has been a true model for family values; a loving wife, adorable children, and a monogamous relationship.
The other candidate abandoned his first wife for a 25 year old heiress. He subsequently referred disparagingly to his "new" wife by unspeakable names. He has been unfaithful to his new wife with a lobbyist.
It would be quite hypocritical for the evangelicals to support the second candidate (McCain) if they truly believe in family values.

Evangelicals tend to be hypocritical in my experience. Preach tolerance, give none.

They will vote for McCain solely on his abortion stance, not that he could ever get it abolished even if he were elected President. It should be a moral issue taught in the home and church, not legislated or judged. If a woman has an abortion and it causes her to burn in Hell, so be it but it should be her decision whether or not to burn, not her neighbor's.

It's the Bill Clinton attack the press tactic. The Clintons have done it for years! Bill went around wagging his finger, complaining that the press had disrespected his wife, it was gender bias, which then got pushed onto the Obama campaign. I would like to hear 3 instances where Obama made a sexist comment. Bill used many code words thorughout the campaign, but he pointed the finger at the media.
McCain is doing the same thing. His peeps are yelling at the refs., and the refs are afraid to give him the coverage, ask the questions, and deliberate about McCain, like they do endlessly about Obama. Just like they gave Bushie and his dirty cronies a pass on everything...and that has worked out real well for the American people, hasn't it???
It didn't work for Hillary via Bill, does McCain think his peeps whining and complaining is going to work better for him? It makes McCain look WEAK. Nothing gets said by his peeps, that isnt approved, and if it weren't approved he would say so...PUBLICLY. They are Americans, and have a right to free speech as long as they are saying what he wants them to say.

McCain and Bush agree only on taxes (among economic issues) because that's how their well-heeled supporters continue to benefit most from government policies. They don't much care whether the result is a shift of the overall tax burden to lower-income households, or to future generations; alternatively, cutting public programs is no problem for the rich, since they can more easily pay for about anything they need.

Call this class warfare if you like (and the Republicans surely will), but the alternative is unilateral economic disarmament.

Its a portrait project started by a classically trained painted to honor the people who are serving by celebrating them through formal portraiture( usually only reserved for the very wealthy and the CEO's of the world). It shows them, and gives them a place to tell their story, non partisan- just them, who they are what they have gone through.
The artist makes no mention of how he feels about the war.The stories are shattering and incredible, as are the paintings.
If we REALLY want to support those who serve we owe it to them to HEAR THEIR STORIES- then decide if we should continue this bloody and useless war.

Plenty of things matter to me. Buying a home I can afford and not bailing out the people who don't. Choosing my own healthcare plan instead of putting a third of my earnings toward universal healthcare. Looking for solutions to energy independence. Fiscal prudence, not absurd spending practices like the farm bill or the energy bill (both of which Obama voted for, the latter putting money in the pockets of the oil companies). Abolishing earmarks. McCain has his flaws, but Obama is way too risky.

Senator Obama was visiting the country of his parent's heritage and a relative's home there. Would you rather see him in a Brooks Brother's suit in a straw hut in Africa? Besides, the robes and turban look comfortable to me, I would probably wear them given the opportunity but that doesn't make me a muslim any more than it makes you one.

And if you think you are getting taxed more then you must be one of the top 1% of wage earners in the US. Congratulations on making more than $200,000 per year! Sorry, I have no sympathy...

AND if you think that military strength equates to being the top, you belong back in the cold war era. We already have the top military in the world and what good has it done for us lately? We can't even win a crap war in a podunk arab nation.
