Regarding Jim Johnson, I think Uncle Fluffy's campaign has bigger issues.

Yes, Johnson is helping vet potential VP candidates, but at least he's not providing economic policy advice to Senator Obama the way Uncle Fluffy's getting advice from Phil Gramm.

You know, Phil Gramm? He's the guy who championed deregulation of the mortgage market which is part of the reason why we are where we are with the foreclosure mess in the first place.

I still don't think we are electing the guy (Johnson) to anything. And hasn't he been the guy vetting people in prior Dem. campaigns. Why all the scrutiny now (has this all been recent stuff?). I think if he were running for office himself, this would be news. But there are others vetting also. A big part of my says, if this is all they can find to throw at Obama. It seems to be grasping at straws.

Obama will not have any trouble raising money for the General and should refuse public financing. He's had an amazing financial run for the Primary and I don't see that ending for the general. Uh, this is a guy on a fact finding mission...not an advisor. McCain's economic advisor (Phil Graham) actally advised McCain that we should further deregulate the industry which is what he did to cause the mortgage crisis in the first place.

If First Read is going to do some actual reporting, it better not be just on what the candidate tells them to report on.
