For the people who think the stock market will suffer if Obama wins the Presidency, here's an item from the Federal Reserve Bank in San Francisco.

Conclusion
Over the years, stock analysts have suggested that the market prefers Republicans in the White House. This apparently arises from the view that Republican administrations are more favorable toward business than Democratic administrations. Most studies attempting to document this have focused on the stock returns around elections, and find weak evidence for this in the behavior of the stock market. In this study, we examine the returns on the market over the Democratic and Republican terms in office from 1871 to 1997. We find, contrary to earlier belief, that there is no support for returns being different under one political party versus the other. The old adage that the market prefers Republicans is not evidenced. On the contrary, the evidence indicates a slightly, but not statistically significant, higher returns during Democratic administrations.

In order to stabilize the economy the next President is going to have to make a valid attempt to balance the budget and start balancing trade. Uncle Fluffy's plan calls for more of what Dubya's done to get us in this mess.

These so called “superdelegates” of the party failed their constituents miserably. They chose “change” with no experience over “change” with experience. By doing so, they disenfranchised Clinton supporters and abandoned the strongest candidate to head the ticket. We have carried your water for many years; however we are not allowed to drink from the same well??? No MORE. These party elitist should have pledged their allegiants based on fact---not fiction. Hillary with her tremendous strength, knowledge and courage was tossed aside for an ill-qualified community organizer with two years of Senate experience. I firmly believe Obama to be the weakest candidate to head the ticket. Those same party leaders did not have the courage to realize this and they will pay a price for their stupidity.
I have been a loyal supporter of the party my entire adult life---No More. You have shown me time and time again that you are gutless and have no clear clue how to win elections. You lack the vision and the wisdom to do anything other than pat your own pockets and run from the truth---for shame. Your actions have forced many of us centralist democrats to seek alliance with the moderate conservative wing of the Republican Party.
I do not speak for all Hillary supporters, though I do hope I speak for many of them when I say to the party…. you have failed us---you have failed Hillary, and you will once again fail to win the White House, and because of your failure---the party WILL pay a high price. I watched and listen to Hillary ask her supporters to now throw their support to Obama, for the sake of the party. Hillary is a loyalist to the party---why, I’m not sure.
I respect Hillary tremendously, however the party and the process did her wrong and this cannot stand. YES THIS WILL BE A PROTEST VOTE, a vote against the DNC-you need to clean your act up and remember your core constituents, because “Yes We Can” make a difference. I am not afraid of McCain, he does not represent 4 more years of Bush---no one could possibly be that stupid. I believe him to be a man of honor who will do his best for this country and its people that he cares deeply for, and for that reason I will place my hope with him.
And to those Obama supporters, I am not “bitter” “old” “ugly” “uneducated” “living in a trailer” “sleeping with my uncle” or “picking my teeth with wood” . I am however, disenfranchised and VERY angry.
And one last thing, please don’t lecture me about McCain’s record---I know exactly where he stands on all the issues, and I will still cast my vote for him.

I don't trust McCain on the economy or foreign policy. Watch his eyes when he speaks - he's nothing but a puppet reading a script - the comprehension just isn't there on either issue. The ONLY way Republicans can "win" on the economy is by scaring americans by saying Democrats want to raise all the taxes, whether justly or not. In this case, McCain keeps repeating that Obama will raise taxes on everyone, especially workers. However, Obama has stated over and over again that he will reduce taxes on the middle class and raise them on the wealthiest 2%.

Now, I know how odd it must sound that raising taxes is the way to save the economy. It sounds like an oxymoron. However, lowering taxes has never ever been proven to work (especially not on corporations and the wealthy) because trickle down theory doesn't work. The interest of the corporations and the interest of the middle class will never line up (not directly at least, however if the middle class is doing really well that means more spending and more profits for corporations and small business in the long run), so saying that we must lower taxes on businesses will never help the middle class. Ever. Just look at the objective facts: every democratic president has had more economic growth by far than any republican president. By being afraid of taxes you're playing directly into the hands of the republicans and their corporate overlords who don't give two wits about your needs.
