it is not clear where the republicans associate terrorists with having a trial as wrong and harmful for the country. The constitution states that everyone is entitled to a day in court including those who are not americans. as long as they are in america, the constitution supports the claim of due process. If the evidence led to terrorists being arrested, then what is the problem with allowing the information to be presented in court and have the jury find them guilty. Second, if republicans care about keeping the country safe, then they should capture bin laden and al queda who are responsbile for the 911 attacks. It is disengenious of the gop to be concern for u.s. safety and yet not capture those responsible for killing americans in 911. this is the truth and it needs to be said.

I think Richard Clarke knows more than anyone which policies work against terrorism and which don't. Check out his book, "Against All Enemies". He was a voice calling for attention to be paid to Al Quaida (namely Osama bin Laden) in Afghanistan, even before 9/11. Rumseld, Cheney, and other Bush cronies would not listen--all they wanted to talk about was Iraq. They lied then, and they continue to lie now. Bush refuses to admit his mistake, and now look at the mess we're in.

Having Richard Clarke, an expert on counter-terrorism, in your corner is inifitely better support than having support from a former mayor. I am significantly more concerned about McCain's pro-war stances. We need Obama in the White House, not some hot-headed dude who jokes about bombing Iran!
