It's time to come together for our country. Bush/Cheney have created a fascist state with corporations running our government. The Republican Congress has "borrowed and spent" us into an irresponsibly huge deficit, with the paper being held by the Chinese and some oil rich states in the Middle East, and McCain is willing to borrow even more.

It's time to join together to work towards electing a Democratic President with a workable Democratic majority in both the House and the Senate.

This time do something smart and vote for your wallet, vote for the economy, vote for the environment, vote for jobs, vote for America!

Vote for the smartest candidate in the race, a real leader (and no that's not McCain, who graduated at the very bottom of his class -- not by a long shot)

Vote Democratic 2008 -- don't let the corporations and their Republican stooges win again.

See the thing I am learning about John McCain is that everything has to be done on his terms or they will not happen.. If you disagree with him you are then cast as untrustworthy and not honest..

Okay ole dude did you not see what his response was on the questionaire. It was "yes" but under certain conditions..

We all know that the republican plan was to lure this inexperienced junior senator into taking public campaign funds and then unleash all the extra cash the RNC has to smear and attack him..

But what happened was that he stepped back and said you know this is not in the best interest of my party.. so to that end being that we are struggling financially to compete because of the DNC's shortcomings then I have to keep the momentum going so that we don't get creamed in November.

Note to republicans.. its called leveling the playing field.. I know that you repubs are not comfortable or used to playing on a level playing field for fear of being exposed.. I would think that the many years of experience that John McCain has of flip flopping dishonesty far exceeds the few flip flopping dishonest allegations against Obama. Here is a suggestion. Let's find some highly skilled investiagtive reporters and ask that they go back and count the number of times that McCain has been a dishonest flip flopper while in office versus the number of times for Obama while he has held office. Good luck with that, McCain camp. For every flip flop you try to use against Obama, 2 or 3 or 4 can easily be found for McCain, with audio and video. Besides, it's mostly inside baseball stuff. Bottom line: It's already all about Obama and he's pretty good at parrying the negative.

The negative is all McCain has. Listen to talk radio and you will hear Obama supporters talking about Obama and McCain supporters ALSO talking about Obama. You will hear almost NO enthusiastic support of McCain for his own sake.

McCain's support is much softer than Obama's and Obama has tons of money to define himself AND McCain to the public before McCain can do the reverse. This is no Bush/Kerry re-march. McCain is much weaker than Bush was, Obama much stronger than Kerry was and he is the first Dem who is going to be coming into an election way ahead of the R's on fund raising, with the broadest base of contributors and therefore volunteers and voters to go with all that TV, ever!

And just think of all those young voters who actually made it to caucus and primary. How many more will turn out to vote in the big one in November? It's MUCH more common for a first time newly registered voter to vote in a general presidential than in a primary, much less show to caucus. And they are VERY hard to poll in advance. McCain will have to come up with more than a few flip flops and the fear card featuring nouns, verbs and 9/11 is pretty worn out.

There is a great book written by John Dean (Former Nixon Whaite House Chief Counsel) it's called "Conservatives Without Conscience". In it he methodically cites a number of scientific studies that have researched the mind of a "conservative". Among the scariest qualities are: "Authoritarian", "situationally rational" (I.E. someone who twists reality to fit their views), "contradictory" (I. E. someone who is pro-life and pro capital punishment, pro freedom and pro Guantanimo, etc.). These people are power oriented (or power complicit) and seek to dominate as a way to control their environment. Thier way of dominating to to knock down anyone who disagrees with them (E.G. Rush Limbaugh, FOX News, etc.).

Dean describes these post-Goldwater conservatives (Newt Gingrich et.al.) as a new idieology: "Authoritarians". What's most frieghtening when you look at thier methods is that these people are closer to facist / nazi mentality than anything we have seen in America to date.

John McCain can't make up his mind where he sits on this fence. He claims to be a "Mavrick," but the only thing mavrick about John McCain is his inconsistency.

Despite McCain's honors as a war verteran, the fact is that he graduated as a flunky (894 of 899) from the Naval Academy. His greatest pre-politics achievement seems to have been as a light weight boxer in his academy days. And while we can honor McCain's perseverance as a war hero, we should not forget he was shot down after only his 23 missions over Viet Nam. Experienced fighter pilots in that war flew many hundreds hundreds of missions. Some pilots often flew 3 and 4 sorties a day. By that count, McCain lasted all of a week in Viet Nam. Other than touting his war record - who is John McCain? Does he have the "smarts" and intelligence, and mental capacity to lead as president, or is he likely to be another "Bush" - puppet of the Authoritarian right?

More than ever, citizens of America have to ban to protect our freedoms from this encroaching "Big Brother". The Republican party has gone to pot and it's time to wash them all out of office. It's time to call these new extremists what they really are: AUTHORITARIANS. It's time to question whether John McCain is REALLY in touch with his faculties.

Wow. This is quite an attack. It reminds me of another one... between a pot and a kettle.

I'll bring up a few points. One is about Jerusalem. "Undivided" means that Obama doesn't believe in building a wall down the middle of a city as Israel has done with it's West Bank wall. But when you have a holy site with as much meaning for Christians, Jews, and Muslims as Jerusalem does, there is going to be some negotiation on how you share that territory and its use. That is just plain common sense.

On campaign finance: 33 million people (on average) over the last 5 years have checked the $3 box [according to the FEC] -- that makes for $99 million dollars each year. Obama's 1.5 million donors (plus) have an average donation of less than $200. The Obama campaign takes no money from registered lobbyists or PACs. The Campaign controls the money and, if MoveOn is any indication, he gets the 527s to stay out of the campaign. It sounds to me like he's found a much less "broken" way to fund a campaign. And if his first political ad is any indication, he'll be able to run positive instead of negative.

I know that some people are upset or disillusioned that he didn't take the public financing. But he is a candidate with a sound strategy to win the election. Would they be happier if he gave all those $25 and $50 donors back their money, only to lose the election or to let the agenda be set by 527s with no accountability to the American voter?
