The point here is that we finally have a "politician" who thinks that ALL of the United States are important! (Even if he sometimes mis-speaks and counts some territories in there too!!(;-D)...

I would rather all of the candidates extend to us the respect of sharing their views with the entire Nation; not just where they think they will do "well".

This is also excellent strategy, and points up the McCain Campaign's weakness on Nationwide Organization and Fundraising. ((Yes, he did say he would consider accepting Federal Campaign Financing; "if an equitable agreement could be reached with the Republican Candidate"!!...But 'we the people' prayed over it for him, and the Republicans helped; by issuing statements like "we cannot control the 527's"; so GOD helped Obama 'see the light'; and he opted out. We are glad of this as his supporters, and will continue to make sure he is provided for throughout this campaign!! ALL 57 STATES!! (;-D)....

Obama's campaign is solid. But I see 1 problem with his voter drive...getting the votes counted. We've all seen recount. Will there be enough ballots in poor districts where there is a republican governor? Will there be enough machines? Will their names be on the registered voter's list?

Democrats have to be realistic, there are states that a democratic candidate can't win. In the bible belt for example. Obama should focus on wining california, Florida Ohio and the most of the blue collar states. Otherwise, his 50 states strategy won't get him very.

I live in Alabama ,in a staunchly Republican area.I stubbornly remain hopeful that the people around me wwhile keeping what is wonderful about our culture are evolving as we learn ,and despite some harmful,and limiting ,and institutionalized traditional ideas that make it hard to be progressive ,and because of the privacy of the voting booth , the price of gas , the price of food ,and the need for economic development that supports workers as well as big business interests , and issues we share with everyone like the rising cost or inability to obtain affordable health care,and areas here that need and have no public transit ,and too many of our young people dying in Irag .and because young people are embracing new ( to the local culture here ) ways of thinking it is possible ,and high time that this region become far more politically diverse and our vote be less predictable.The very assumption that a state will vote a given way discourages voters who might otherwise vote a different way from taking the time to vote...that factor needs to be mitigated and Obama's campaign in telling people in an area where they are considered a long shot that they still think our vote matters can lessen that tendency for people like myself to sit it out..I see this move as a smart one.

Barack Obama says he's gonna go out and campaign in 57 states, he was just tired, you know, it's been such a long campaign, he's been so many places, he probably thinks there are 57 states. Well, I have here a printout from a website called the International Humanist and Ethical Union. And here is how the second paragraph of an article on that website begins. "Every year from 1999 to 2005 the organization of the Islamic conference representing the 57 Islamic states presented a resolution to the United Nations commission on human rights called combating." And the title of the piece here is, "How the Islamic states dominate the UN human rights council," and there are 57 of them.

Obama said he's going to campaign in 57 states, and it turns out that there are 57 Islamic states. There are 57 Islamic states. So did Obama just lose his bearings, or was this a more telling slip, ladies and gentlemen?
