Don't know that I can get behind a Barack AND a Chet, but Nancy-Pants is salivating here over the thought of the Democratic Party having some semblance of a resurgence in Texas. 10,000 Texan volunteers can't be wrong...

I'm not very familiar with his legislative work, but Chet Edwards seems like a legitimate choice for VP.

There is one item on his Wikipedia entry that scares the bejeezus out of me: he has an MBA from Harvard, just like our current moron-in-chief.

I looked up Rep. Edwards credentials because I'd never heard of him. Speaker Pelosi must have her reasons (something about Texas maybe) but there's better choices out there in my opinion by far. Gov. Phil Bredesen. Gov. Bill Richardson or Gov. Sebelius. Joe Biden would be my pick but I don't think Obama will select from the senate.

Well looks like some Clinton supporters have gone over to the enemy camp. Hillary would be so disappointed in your flip -flopping ! but you might as well be like osama.
But still, 1 in 5 of us will not vote or support him.
Thats almost 4 mill of the 18 mill that is backing true leadership. Obama can't win !

Good pick from right field sort to speak, and would help get that 20% white vote needed to steal Mississippi (assuming 90% black vote for Obama from 40% of total voter base), and seal the deal fror Georgia. Would take away key GOP ad dollars away from Michigan and Colorado.

Pelosi's endorsement of Chet could get him on the short list. But the Texan has some stiff competition. Biden and Nunn with foreign policy experience. Governors Richardson and Strickland--throw in a couple of military generals. Until Barack anounces his pick, it will be the best kept secret in Washington.

When I first read this quickly I assumed it was John Edwards and he would be a fantastic choice. I think he shouldn't be blamed for tne NC loss last time. The combination of Obama/JEdwards would pull it in.
