At one point, an attendee told Obama that if he wanted to be seen as a true leader, he needed acknowledge that sexism had played a role in the demise of Clinton's campaign. Obama agreed and said that the issue should be addressed.’

GET IT OVER IT.... this includes the media too!!!

There are many woman who face this everyday and we don't/can't WHINE on and on about. It's the biggest sterotype out there about women. We want to play on the field, but can't accept the fact that we could lose on our own merit or lack of it. Just like we can win on it.

i think that obama cutting a check as well as his wife for the maximum amount is huge. Who would have thought that at the end of this process obama, who only made just below 1 million dollars mainly from booksales, would be helping the clintons who make close to 30 million a year.

I appreciate Hillary introducing her donors to Barack. She is willing help him, and I am willing to give her credit for it.

I think Obama can now pass over Clinton for Veep and say "look, I helped pay this woman's debts, what more do you want?"
My reaction to the whole sexism thing is "sexism my bleeding arse!" It was Clinton's mismanagement of her own campaign that did her in, requiring the guy who won WITHOUT GOING INTO DEBT to bail her behind out.

Hillary's name needs to be placed for a roll call vote in Denver because she would then win the nomination since the supers must be having 2nd thoughts about this fraud Obama. But you know he will never permit that. Well, if he blocks the roll call vote that will be another reason for not voting for him. He has shown he cannot win without the support of Dean, Pelosi, Clyburn, Brazile, etc. They are why I have changed my affiliation from democrat to independent. I no longer support the party of the the self-absorbed, not the party of the people.

You clearly don't understand the process, Lee. Obama has no say on who does or does not get "nominated" for the floor roll call vote and does not have the ability to block a roll call vote from the floor during the convention.

It's the DNC's show first.

If Obama is going to "Write a Check" to pay for Clintons Debt, then the Clinton Supporters who had already given the maximum to Clinton write checks to Obama is tat a back door way of getting around the limits on campaign donations?

The $2300 limit is for one candidate. A donor may give that amount to more than one candidate.

How did sexism bring down such a poorly run campaign? Obama you are becoming an appeaser. Reverse-sexism saved Hillary after she teared up. And just as the black vote gave Obama some states, The female vote bolstered a chameleon of a candidate until desperation made her grow.

Why is it Obama's burden to address sexism when Clinton would not? He addressed race when it was pertinent, not after the nomination was over.

Some Clinton supporters are acting like little girls instead of women. I'm sure many feminists are very embarrassed.

If this PUMA type reaction hurts Obama, I'm certain the black community will rightfully hold it against the next major female candidate.

I've also noticed these so called supporters have left Hillary twisting in the wind financially. Even her campaign was disappointed at how donations dried up so quickly. If her 18 million supporters gave $5, that's $90 million, she only needs $10 million to pay vendors.

It literally shows, the majority of Hillcrat types were worthless or in the closet Republicans stirring trouble.

Real supporters donated to her & now support Obama, even with a bit of sadness in their hearts.

Im still trying to figure why should we "obama supports" pay for HRC debt. She & Bill knowingly incurred that debt. And I understand why Obama paid the 2300 but why should we? are the clinton supports, all 18 millions, contributing?

I think as well that him helping her with her debt (which is toward the vendors and others she owns money to, not her personal loan) gets him off the hook when he doesn't pick her as VP. Anyone still complaining if he doesn't pick her will be showing themselves to be beyond petty and spiteful.

It kinda sickens me though that he has to bend over backwards like this. For no other reason I think other then to make sure she doesn't undermine him in the hopes of running again in four years. You have to know in the back of his mind that though is running around like crazy. It's the whole "can he trust her or not" situation which is a prime reason why she won't be VP.

Not saying it's true or she would actually be like that but to much has happen to simply sweep that thought under the run or out the door. Even she has to know that people will be thinking it (unfairly or not) which is why I think she'll be bringing her A game to not only kill that thought in people's head but also to make up for Bill Clinton's timid apperance.

It's HRC"s fault she is in debt that much, so she should be the one to pay for it. The race was over long before she dropped out. but she chose to stay in the race anyways, and as a result incurred millions of dollars in debt.
We need to move on and focus on bringing the HRC and Obama supporters together, not on getting Clinton out of the hole because she doesnt know how to run a campaign.

Though I would certainly have voted for HRC had she won the nomination I am now even more grateful that did not happen. I guess she is more important than any other candidate who has ever run??? Give me a break. There are those who would respect her much more if she acted like an adult. Much more coverage of "poor" Hill and pouting Bill will drive many of us to tell Obama to ditch the both of them. His message doesn't need their approval to win in Nov.

I live in Brooklyn, where almost all the elected officials at every level supported Clinton. Given that she's our senator, that's understandable. Right now, every one of these key Clinton supporters are climbing over themselves to support Obama. I know the polls about the weak support for him from her supporters, but from my somewhat-behind-the-scenes view, Obama will have the full support of the entire Clinton machinery in the largest Democratic county in the country.

.I agree with the above post that calls for her 18 million supporters to pay down her debt. Where are you when she needs you the most? I, for one, will support the Democratic nominee and NOT someone who made 109 million dollars last year and is whining about a debt she shouldn't have occurred in the first place. If I overspend, who's going to bail me out? She made her bed.............
