Any attempt by Obama to appeal to evangelical Christian conservatives is absurd. As a fairly liberal Democrat, Obama's position on killing live babies is beyond the pale to me. I can't even imagine the effect this FACT about Obama being imparted will have on evangelicals. He either will have to change this position, or it will be made known LOUDLY by the GOP in the fall.

I'm a rabid Obama supporter and have found his judgement to be impeccable, but I was a little nervous about his new stance on FISA. Even Keith Olbermann's Special Comments didn't put my unease to rest.

I will have to continue to trust his judgement and political savvy. There has to be some method to his logic.

That's the exact same rate as I have on my home here in Cincinnati. My brother has a 4.75% rate here as well. My sister and brother-in-law have a 5.375% rate just outside Chicago in the suburbs.

It's not that hard to get a good rate if you actually try and aren't a blind ignorant fool when making the largest purchase most people make in their lives.

The mere fact that Sen. Obama is being attacked from left and right only proves that he's about change. Sen. Obama has the common sense and the insight to know that both democrats and republicans have some good ideas. He also seems to realize that both parties have been hi-jacked by the extreme wings, leaving most Americans without a voice. Perhaps the media didn't take Obama seriously during the primaries when he said that changing the political tone was paramount to getting any agenda and/or policies achieved.

He won me over the day after he clinched the primaries. He declared that the money from lobbyist, big corps and special interest groups were not welcomed in his party or campaign. That took guts.

We need a President that realizes we don't live in a perfect world where we all hold the same beliefs. That's the beauty of this country. But what we as citizens must realize is the fact that we all have the right to the persuit of happiness. And if we're going to move forward as a country and a people, we must keep that in mind.

Personally, I believe the "Two Party System" has outlived it's purpose. We need a viable third party. The Dems and Reps Parties have left most of the American people behind. Neither party wants to compromise or make concessions for the good of the country. I propose that the moderates on both sides of the aisles break away from their respective parties to form a new party. One that values a common sense approach to the needs of our country and our people oppose to what we have now. A government that does absolutely nothing.

My first reaction to Senator Obama's decisions on the telecom immunity legislation and moves to further faith based initiatives is disappointment. I've supported him from the time of his announcement and will continue. I'm further left than his positions and realize that but this country's in trouble. Obama is the best hope for real change.

Senator Obama is just trying to actualy "do" what was promised to be done, and wasn't by the Bush administration. I guess Bush used his time to set-up propoganda to get the war going and everything else got dropped.
It is never wrong to help those in need. Do you want them to go steal? Maybe use an illegal gun? Then we can pay for them to go to prison. Let's have mercy for individuals - hopefully, the help given will be temporary and they can move on to do better.
I have discovered through this campaign just how left I am, but I certainly support Senator Obama.
A quick question - are my fellow lefties becoming as dogmatic as their conservative counterparts? Only you know the answer.
