The new republican approach to economic policy is not so much "trickle down" as it is "trickle up." The government provides aid to the middle class only to the extent it will actually benefit business. The tax relief people received this year will be enough to pay one mortgage payment, pay the increased cost of gas to drive to and from work, or pay off a defaulted credit card ... maybe. The only ones who benefit from this will be the businesses that are already in trouble because of republican policies. It's nothing but a plan to bail out business. Obama needs to begin using the right terminology. Trickle down it surely ain't.

I am not that wealthy yet and my parents are not there either, but they have done well for themselves and neither of them know how much a gallon of milk costs...they know how much it costs to fill up a tank, but they are not that worried about it, so yeah, I think it's quite possible that one or both are out of touch.

McCain is oblivious to sequence his own events. Although McCain speaks slowly, do you really think he is capable enough to reflect his words? The danger of our infrastructure collapsing is less important to jobs and lives. Musing about his gimmick” gas tax holiday” says no can’t think clearly. Otherwise he would not have voted no for Katrina victims whom he considered pork nor would he tap into the infrastructure budget. That budget pays for thousands of jobs.
