I always knew that with Obama winning the nomination, we will know where people REALLY stand on progressive or conservative issues/policies now what we have an individual who does not 'fit the mold' running. Over the past few weeks, I have seen Dan Rather (on MSNBC Morning Joe) and Ted Koppel (on ABC This Week) sounding like Republican operatives. Dan Rather was providing advice on how McCain can defeat Obama. Last Sunday Ted Koppel gave the impression that staying in Iraq is a sign of strength.

In addition, I have spent almost 10 years as a legal resident of USA. I'm not really surprised to see Obama's comments get far more scrutinized than McCain's, even when their statements carry the same weight. My professional experience so far in USA has taught me to know that whenever you see an individual who does not 'fit the mold' in a position, that person is twice better than a counterpart who 'fits the mold'.

It's surprising that Obama is not getting much help from Democrats in the face of coordinated attack from the GOP. To the extent that McCain can even run an ad portraying himself as more 'Green' than Obama. GOPers like Pat Buchanan and Tucker Carlson have basically stated that McCain does not have any issues to run on except to attack Obama.

Is that how a great country like USA will pick its leader who will also be the leader of the free world? One whose only platform is to attack an opponent and not offer any solutions to problems facing real people?

The Clinton's might be backing Obama, but they sure have a strange way of showing their support. Bill making speeches like the one he made yesterday will not help Obama.

Pat, yep, bad judgement is a mistake. Just ask BO. How did he sit in a hate-filled, racist church for 20 years and profess the likes of Wright as his mentor? How did he profess Frank Marshall Davis, REGISTERED COMMUNIST, as his mentor? The fact he hangs out with domestic terrorist Wm Ayers is certainly a concern and for many a demonstration of bad judgement. Did you maybe think hiding behind closed doors in SF and calling small town midwesterners bigots that cling to guns and religion was bad judgement? Do you think flipflopping all the over place just to get votes might be bad judgement? If not bad judgement, it shows his dishonesty and deceit since he said many times early on "I say what I mean and I mean what I say."

When you say Obama flip-flops it just shows your ignorance. I do not want a president that refuses to change position based on the reality of the day. We have had nearly 8 years of that and look where that got us. McCain voted against drilling in anwar and The Bush tax cuts and now he is for them. What does that make him you hypocrite? You would label him with your stupid little flip-flop gotcha phrase wouldnt you? Have you ever even looked at McCain's voting record versus what he is saying and supporting as a candidate? I'm not even calling McCain a flip-flopper because I realize peoples postions on issues change as the times change but if you are going to use that argument against Obama you better make damn well sure that your not looking incredibly hypocritical.
My advice to you is to turn off fox news for a day and actually try to learn something before you go spouting off like another intellectualy inferior right wing attack dog.

I'm very happy that Senator Obama is addressing this problem. I believe he will make inroads with the women who supported Hillary.

Some of them feel that they were dissed, and taken for granted. They took the primaries personally. They saw every defeat of Hillary as a slight against them.

I hope he can reason with them, and give them something to celebrate in this election cycle.

Regardless of what vegetables you prefer, you apparently need a lesson in looking at details and understanding nuance. Obama’s plan would cut taxes on people making UNDER $250,000, which happens to be the majority of Americans. Unless McCain was speaking ENTIRELY to people making over $225,000 yesterday (doubtful even for a Republican), he was LYING. And it was a lie no matter how you like your salad.

I really do not think Obama will get more than 75% of Hillary's supporters no matter whom he hires or if he puts Hillary on the ticket. Her holdouts wanted her to be Presdent and nothing else. They feel cheated and are unwilling to accept the results the majority of Democratic voters. Her most influential of her financial supporters have not backed Barack.

Most telling of all is Bill's silence. It is deafening.

My gut tells me these women will most likely stay home. If they vote for McCain, they are not only voting against their own self-interests but their families as well. It's not security issues this time, it's read and butter issues. this country cannot survive 4 years of a McCain Presidency.

Anyone who has read my posts for any lenghth of time knows that I do not obsess over McCain's age. I speak to it when the articles are relevant to his being elderly, and the problems that that present in so far as his level of stamina, and mental prowess.

I have mentioned his intemperate behavior of public abuse toward his wife, but not incessantly. It is a hugely important issue. A character flaw such as his cruel nature is an obligatory thread to any conversation regarding the race for the Presidency.

If you cannot add to the debate in a valuable way, don't hate others who do.

You know what bugs me to high heaven, are people who write and say that Obama was sitting in a hate-filled church every Sunday. It makes me sick... if every Sunday this church was preaching hate for white americans; with over 8,000 members; you would have heard of it long before Obama decided to run for president. White Americans are well aware of the systematic racism that is practiced in this country yet, whenever, it expressed by Black Americans it is branded as hate. She has MORE than earned the VP slot (i.e. 18 million votes/the most votes received by a presidential candidate in history.
