I'm really glad to hear this. Mike Murphy is one of the few Republican stragegists that I find credible. In fact, it is usually a pleasure to listen to him, agree or not. I had the same reaction, Inez. When I heard that Murphy - who is both bright and *decent* - might be coming on board, I started worrying (and at the same time applauding McCain for good sense). But apparently Steve Schmidt is from the "Rovian" school of thought and Murphy won't go there (good for him!). Because I want Sen. Obama to win, this news is a great relief.
