But there's one obstacle, Obama told her: Bill Clinton.

He has made paid speeches all over the world and has had numerous business dealings and partnerships that may not pass a sniff test with the public. Some of his former partners are under indictment. However, Obama takes a chance on her voters not voting for him if she is not on the ticket. I don't believe Bill Clinton would interfere if Obama becomes president. He may do speeches if asked but not pertaining to Obama. Just politics. Sometimes you have to take chances to get what you want and Obama wants that presidency. I would like to see an Obama/Clinton ticket because Hillary is well schooled in politics and foreign policy and could be a great help to him. Instead of Obama getting people to search for a VP Hillary is right there. Let's hope it happens. If it does they would be the best team in a long time and I think they could work together and she could be a bit help to him. Sebelius to the ticket if she is not selected. Many women who are holding back support for Mr. Obama would quickly move to support Obama and solidify his lead with women. Women recognize that they were so close to breaking the glass ceiling with Mrs. Clinton historic and very strong run. With that in mind, Governor Sebelius will be able to make that dream a reality. Second, and just as important, women made up 54% of the electorate. It’s highly unlike that Senator Obama will be able to beat or match Senator McCain with white men. Granted, younger white males will probably be more competitive if not strong for Senator Obama. White men on the other hand will not be a constituent that Senator Obama, an African-American, can expect to win unless there is some dramatic disaster for McCain. Thus, white women, the strongest Democratic base would only be solidified and enhanced with Gov. Sebelius on the ticket. Women are more likely than men to vote anyway. Many women will register to vote in historic numbers to support the ticket and a chance to break one more glass ceiling. Women deserve at least the VP spot on the Democratic ticket with Senator Clinton’s strong run and to reward for their loyalty to the Democratic Party for these many years. Think of the fundraising potential as well. Not all women contributed to Senator Clinton because some women didn’t like her especially independent and Republican women. Governor Sebelius will be able to help with fundraising with women were Senator Clinton was limited. Even moderate and liberal Republican women will secretly cast a vote for an Obama-Sebelius ticket. Even Republican women realize that a McCain win means that Roe vs. Wade will be overturned since the next president will probably nominate at least one Supreme Court Justice. Third, Governor Sebelius represents change from Washington just as Senator Obama has been preaching. Disregard those who say Senator Obama needs to choose a candidate with foreign policy credentials. Well, he can shore up his national security and foreign policy credentials with his choosen Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, and National Security Adviser. Besides, Governor Sebelius has a history of working with Republicans in Kansas. She also has demonstrated herself to be politically astute by winning in a very red state. At minimum, she knows how to take advantage of the Republican intra-party political divide that is also plaguing Senator McCain as he fights to turn out the skeptical Evangelical base. Plus, if Senator Clinton plays the attack dog role as Veep, she would only drive up her negatives because her attacks on McCain will only be dismissed as typical Clinton win-by-any means attack. Governor Sebelius would bring credible attacks on McCain as advocate of the status quo and a third Bush term.

Hillary under VP consideration, but...

the clintons are not "change." they are part of the problem......wake up obama.

Hillary under VP consideration, but...

IF OBAMA SELECTS HILLARY (AND BILL) TO BE VICE PRESIDENT, I WILL NOT VOTE FOR HIM. I WOULD HOPE HE HAS MORE SENSE THAN TO GIVE HER THE POSITION. I'D RATHER SEE RICHARDSON IN THERE. ANYONE BUT HILLARY.

NO CLINTON ON THE OBAMA TICKET!!

Hillary under VP consideration, but...

Obama is thinking of reconsidering due to necessity. Are these folks idiots? First, Obama needs their money. Having forgone the gov't funds and with his own base slowing down in the contribution dept [esp. as he shown himself to nothing new, just another pol who will say anything to get elected], he desperately needs her fatcats & the smaller donor base too in order to meet his heft $ goals. Next, to say we don't need 18 million women's votes is stupid pure & simple. Statistically women mae up the core of the voter base year after year. Sure you can piss them off & throw them away...some will come along anyway but some will sit home & some will vote for McCain even if they have to hold their nose to do it. In a tight election, that could just tip the balance to McCain. I-D-I-O-T-S...that's how you spell Obama supporters!
As for Bill, he is indeed a problem but far less so than some of the wacky leaders Obama will have to go mano a mano with if he becomes President. If he wants Hillary [a big IF], he simply has to "grow a set," sit down w/Bill & remind him just how "difficult" he could make his life if he were to misbehave. Period. Case closed. That is something Hillary couldn't do since she [nominally] sleeps w/the guy & he's the father of her child. Let it be known that having one president is all we need and that you cannot get around Bill being a president. Although he could never pass through the vetting process because we know his income is from people that an Obama administration would not want to be associated with. The people will realize the folly of having Hillary as VP as long as Bill is in the picture and will understand why its not going to happen. I for one am glad she will not be the VP. I like her personally but she did women a great disservice by not dropping out when she ran out of money. Why leak a private conversation to the press? Surely this will only stir up more mischief and disunity. Whilst we are on this subject there is a gang of Hillary supporters calling Obama an empty suit and sprouting a lot of bile. They, and I suspect are a paltry few, should realize the primary is over and we are now campaigning in the general. They plan to create havoc at the convention, they plan to support McCain and oh yes, they plan to let Obama’s supporters pay off Hillary’s debt. Keep this up and there will not be a red cent given in that direction! I firmly believe they were influential in encouraging the Clintons to stay in the race, and for what purpose? This election has brought out more ignorance than the world could handle let alone one person. I believe that both OBAMA and HILLARY has a great positive passion for our country and that is what we should be looking at. At the time to decide between the two they both had their politics, its just OBAMA was careful with his and HILLARY was more direct. It was a competition! People do it everyday all day and BUSH while in office is still doing it with CONGRESS. Stick to the facts about these candidates and where they could actually bring our country. Being threatened by BILL is idiocy. Any president at some point has to confer with the previous but I believe that OBAMA and HILLARY can handle that. After all while BILL was in office it was an ongoing joke that HILLARY was actually running our country anyway.

Hillary under VP consideration, but...

Why isn't anyone remembering that some of the Hillary voters were republicans? The republicans had their presidential nominee early, thus the rest of the repubs could vote for Hillary, she is who the repubs want to run against. If the 18 million votes were really ALL democrats, then why aren't they helping her with her debt? Because they were NOT all democrats thats why. The republicans have real close tabs on the Clintons since they left the White House. They have a huge file on EVERYTHING that they have done over the last 7 years, including all of Bills girlfriends. And monies that are NOT shown in their taxes, monies that are hidden off shore. As soon as Senator Obama were to announce Clinton as his VP the republicans will bring up the campaign fraud case against the Clintons. The republicans will say this is what Senator Obama wants in the White House, someone whose husband makes lots of money off of NAFTA? A VP who has committed fraud, campaign funding fraud????? He needs someone who can help him gain the blue collar, middle-class, white voters, male and female.

Hillary under VP consideration, but...

Obama only told that person that because he wants to try to get more support and money. So, for Obama, it's double the fun to also make a cut at Bill Clinton, so that his own supporters think he is an obstacle, which is BS.

Many MANY people do NOT want Hillary as VP. Afterall, that still makes Oblahma the president, and we do not want him as president of the USA! At ALL!

Just Say No Deal
Puma Pac
The Denver Group

PUMA!!

Hillary under VP consideration, but...

I sure hope Senator Clinton doesn't hitch her shining star to the wagon that is definitely on the pathway to Loserville, USA. Hopefully she rejects any offers the way Edwards, Strickland, Webb, Rendell and Wagner already have. All of his picks for VP are running in fear. He'll have enough votes without them. We want unity, we want one democratic party, however Obama supporters are usually vapid angsty teenagers who quickly attack and dismiss people with another point of view.

As with his supporters, Barack Obama is equally chauvinist in the way that he treats Hillary supporters, as he is well known to tell people not to be on the fence, and choose one side or another. Adding insult to injury, Obama acts as if Hillary Dems should simply roll over to his campaign through unearned trust.

It's as simple as this Mr. Obama, muzzle your supporters and stop fueling the fires of separationism within your own party. If you think you can grab the White House without the support of Hillary Dems, I say go ahead....you'll have handed the most important election in recent history to another war-mongering P.N.A.C. architect.

(For those of you out there who do not know what the P.N.A.C. is, it is a neo-conservative think tank with highly developed plans for a one-world government attained through means of war. For more information about the PNAC, I do suggest checking out the archived [however still accurate] version at http://web.archive.org/web/20070821161035/http://www.newamericancentury.org/index.html ).

Hillary under VP consideration, but...

Again, you wonder why Hillary supporters (like me) are nothing just leaping on the Obama boat... "Hillary and her top supporters are backstabbers who should not be trusted" "Hillary's supporters are not needed by Obama. Hillary hasn’t released her delegates. The Clinton’s won’t stop until they are back in the white house or completely divide the party beyond repair. She didn’t earn the name divisive for nothing! If she succeeds in stealing the nomination away from Senator Obama at the convention; I’ll have to start watching Fox and her buddies there, along with all the right wing nuts that are pretending to support her now, do a C change and start bashing her again. I guess McCain will have to take back his compliments too? If this happens, Senator Obama should not accept a VP spot to help her win. Maybe the Pourta Rican voters can put her over the top. Oh, I forgot, they can't vote in the general election!
