Any potential VP candidates for Senator McCain might want to bring along a current world map to any face-to-face meetings with the campaign team. They seem to be having trouble remembering that there hasn't been a Czechoslovakia since 1993.

They may also want to tell MCain that his buddy the President is planning to veto the Medicare funding bill tomorrow, despite it having passed both houses with a veto-proof majority. McCain was the only Senator to not show up for the vote last week. Obama made it back to the Hill for the vote, and Teddy Kennedy was even able to attend, despite his serious illness. McCain's VP candidates may want to remind him that his absentee record in the Senate is beyond ridiculous.

We constantly hear "we have to get a Dem back in the White House." Why on earth do anything of you think the Dem leaders would allow a Republican to be a step away from the White House? And, if you want to vote for a Repub, then vote McCain!

IF Obama's elected and bombs (which he probably will), Hagel would be setting pretty for the Repubs to take the White House back! And, how do you reconcile his positions on certain things, esp. abortion, with BO's?

Gut feeling says it will be Richardson. That ought to send the HRC supporters running in droves after he stabbed the Clintons in the back. And, if BO tries to substitute any woman other than HRC, that sends her supporters running, too.

Do you like the Fannie and Freddie Mac situation? Socialism at work. IF Obama elected, we'll have more of the "do good" agencies out there. One of the biggest problems in the housing market is due to socialist programs "qualifying" people to buy a home who have no business owning one. Further, I believe in higher education; have two post grad degrees. I have one child with a Masters and one with a tech school degree. Not EVERY person should go to college as Obama promises. And NO PLACE does our constitution promise to pay for a college education for every person in the US. And, don't forget, Obama will want YOU to be PAYING for all this AND for illegal aliens that are here...like the 14million illegals he wants to include in his health care plan. WE CANNOT AFFORD OBAMA. WE SHOULD NOT TURN OUR GOVERNMENT INTO A SOCIALIST SYSTEM.

It is so frustrating to continue to hear the "pundits" and others accuse the candidates of flip flopping.Each day events cause us all to rethink our ideas.If their change of position can be explained as "growth" on an issue let that stand.Stop playing the "gotcha" game.
More to the point,perhaps you could ask WHY they have "refined" a position.This goes for both candidates.Report do not slant and show your bias

I think I have this VEEP thing nailed down for both candidates.

First, Mr. Obama should pick someone to run with him that will make him look good. My recommendation is Jane Fonda. Jane has proven that she is just as embarrassed by and dislikes America as much as Obama. Another potential benefit to Obama is that compared to Jane, he might even look like a patriot.

Next, Mr. McCain should choose someone who is a real Republican to balance out the GOP ticket. Either Condi Rice or Colin Powell would be great choices for "old man river." (The liberals contend he won't make it four years in office anyway, so if they are right, his VP is a lock for the power and prestige of the Oval Office.)

There you go. Problem solved!

The really short list for Obama is Nunn and Bloomberg. However if the polls are this close and the internals are showing the Obama campaign that he needs Clinton to win, don't be surprised if he picks her. He has to win first, right? Obama is pragmatic.

After seeing Carly Fiorina yesterday on Meet the Press, McCain should definitely choose her as his running mate. She has more business experience than Mitt Romney and all the other possible VP contenders put together. As a Hillary Democrat, Fiorina as VP would put me as well as millions of other Hillary supporters firmly in McCain's camp. Why aren't we hearing more about her from the media? A McCain-Fiorina ticket would rewrite the electoral college map, but not in the way that Obama is counting on.

John McCain should be Obama's VP, they might as well blow the doors off America's conventional politics and I think Obama and McCain would make the country and the world a better. This Right-wing stuff is not McCain and the Left-wing stuff is not Obama. But McCain appears to be in more pain with his party's platform. McCain shouldn't have to play full court basketball or sacrifice his soul. McCain is the ideal candidate to partner in taking this political process to the next level and secure his place in history, I truly believe that Obama would trust him and the country would embrace them both. I think the Gov. Napolitano is correct, the bench is deep.

Bayh Former Gov (administration) and strong foreign relations background. Also, continues young and energetic look on the ticket. Likely solidifies Indiana which is close right now.
Biden One of the smartest guys in D.C. period. Foreign relations out the wazzoo, judiciary committee member. Just flat out strong. Adds "gray" to ticket for experience factor. Doesn't bring any electoral votes but helps solidify Penn.
Bloomberg Maybe could help with relocated Jewish voters in Florida, otherwise doesn't help a lot with any particular state that I can think of. Brings enormous business background and that is critical in today's times. More likely Treasury sec'y or something like.
Clark Clear winner in terms of military as former General. An attack dog who doesn't mind speaking out, important for the #2 person. Could make Arkansas close.
Clinton Solidifies women's vote, although McCain is dismal there to begin with. Helps tremendsouly in locking down Hispanic vote (that in turm helps nail down Colorado and New Mexico, and maybe even brings Nevada). Don't know what effect it has on Florida. Clearly helps pin down Penn.
Dodd Like Biden, smart and adds gray to ticket. Doesn't bring any new electoral votes but has wealth of knowledge that isn't easy to find. Seems to have great rapport with Obama.
Bob Graham Raising money in Florida right now for Obama. Could help put Florida really up for grabs as former Governor and then Senator. Against the war from the beginning and was chairman of Senate Intelligence Committee.
Kaine brings Virginia with him. Was one of the first statewide elected officials outside of Illinois to endorse Obama.
Webb Would have been a great choice but he's decided not to be on the list.
