The reason being that that poll worker hadn't shown up with the key to unlock the voting machine. The police went to his house and got him. We were able to begin to cast votes at 6:45. During the waiting period, people who had to go to work left. I saw many of them leave angry about losing their voting rights. I was told on the side, by one of the polling volunteers, that this has happened before. Wonder why they keep giving the same guy "the key"... My mother was born in a time when women could not even vote. So I get a special delight in casting a vote for her and for me. I called the 877 NJ VOTER number and reported my experiences.
