Honestly, does any deomcrat's name other than Jack Reed excite anyone...and he's said he's not interested. Most pundits are saying that of all the above listed people Gov. Tim Kaine (D-VA) would be his best choice and lock Virginia for Obama. If it's a geography pick, this could be the guy.

Personally, would love to see Hagel but he is a 'right to lifer' and that alone would eliminate him from contention.

Interesting report on the first page re: the possibility that Maliki is using Obama to influence the current negotiations that are going on. Yes, Obamatons, there were negotiations going on BEFORE Stinky go there. I'm thinking more and more, tho. If Maliki wants us to go and King Stinky thinks that's the only answer, then let's just start pulling out today. BUT, before King Stinky starts saying how many should be sent to Afghanistan, he better talk to NATO since the war in Afg is a NATO operation and NOT a US operation. Stinky might become King of the US but he'll have to wait a little while to be King of the World. Others might have some plans of their own.

Could not agree more Ira. And, when we're done with Health Care, we'll need one set of rules for everything else. We'll all drive the same car (1 per household), all have the same type of place to work, we'll have a national uniform to wear, there will be one religion, we'll all have 1.3 children, we'll keep what ever money the government lets us have in one national bank, and we all will live in the same kind of apartment (much more energy efficent the houses). And in the morning, before work, we'll all gather in the courtyard and sing our national anthem. The US really needs less choice, less diversity, and more uniformity. It is the way of the future.

Right now there are 50 different rules and regulations for insurance companies, one for each state. The effect is that coverage and premium vary by state. There is no uniformity of benefits, same policy, different state. Worse, in some states the rules favor the insurance companies.

What I was suggesting was regulation that would be standard in every state, like banking laws. Universal healthcare would give us that benefit.

Obama will continue to outlaw domestic drilling, outlaw nuclear plants, is waiting for the miracle to occur on alternative energy, wants to give some people rebate checks, and will tax the oil companies even more.
