It's about time there was an official response from the Obama campaign regarding the McCain comment. The man who pledged to run a respectful campaign has, in the space of 2 days, called a US Senator and the presumptive democratic nominee for President a traitor, guilty of sedition because of his position on Iraq. A position reflective of the democratically elected government of that country. The Mccain campaign has also suggested that Obama would have allowed genocide in Iraq if we left.

Obama's said he was "disappointed" in the comments. That is a galactically kind understatemnet.

I think both comments were reprehensible and unconscienable. There has been no retraction or diclaimer from McCain. You certianly would not expect an apology from a man who wouls sink this low.

I am really sick of hearing about the whinning from Mccain AND the press about the coverage Senator Obama is getting. Senator Obama has spent his money on doing things that interest the people and people want to see.
The Mccain/RNC has more money and all they want to spend it on is negative ads. That is their choice! Stop your whinning and do something about it.
Mccain is going to regret alot of things he is saying.
I will say this right now as a white female that I don not regret:

The only, and I mean 'only' reason that Mccain is anywhere near Senator Obama in polling is that he is white. It is purely a racial matter. If Senator Obama where a white man with the campaign he is running now, mccain would be polling at 25-30 just like Bush.

Likeability, that's what's going to win this thing.
American's vote for the face they want in their living room, some more strongly than others, but it is a common requirement.
Someone who can take a joke and laugh goes a long way towards winning over us in a very personal way. Bush is a terrible president and proved it in his first term, had he not been so relateable he would not have seen a second.
In order for Barak to win this thing he has got to find a way to show he can laugh at himself.
Mccain is already past that point, he is personable and his age makes that easier for him.
I do want a wise and intelligent president like Barak, but he has to laugh at himself in order to connect with us all.
If there are two people who need your help changing a tire lets say, and you can only help one....
Well, just say there will be hesitation in the polling booth without that that personable touch from Barak...
If your vote is the one that puts that guy over the top - the effort of picking a winner is a very personal decision (as they both need your help to do it).

Is there a point to putting in the stutter or hesitations? Why isn't the quetioning about the substance of his poilcies, does he have any. Why bang away on polling that will change in a couple of days anyway. I want to know how he plans to include the Germans, French , Emglish, Palistinians and Isrealites, etc.
McCrazy is looking rather desperate and talk about flip flops. Wasn't this the maverick who was going to run a campain on the facts and policy rather than muckrakeing and mudslinging? Is this angry, desperate man the kind of person( McAngry) we want in the white house? Who are they polling to get these crazy scewed ideas? Didn't you guys learn any lessons from the hard faught primaries. Where is the journalisim? This is the wromg channel for DRAMA isn't it.

Senator McCain not only called Senator Obama's patriotism in to question, he publicly called him a traitor.

This morning on 'Joe', Mike Murphy, (the campaign strategist on the outside of team McCain looking in becuase of the long standing feud between him, and Black), said that Barack is growing in hubris. He called the Obama campaign shameless.

Well, what I see as proof that the depraved attacks on Barack's character are unfounded, is the fact that he has not used McCain's, nor Hillary's scandals to gain an advantage.

McCain has really disappointed me. He was my favorite in 2000. I thought GWB was a complete tool (boy was I right). I used to think he was a man of principle, honesty and integrity. He's either changed or I just didn't pay attention enough.

I had said during the primary that I'd have voted McCain if Clinton had won over Obama, as McCain was my 2nd choice. Being a Republican my entire life till 2006ish, I had a visceral hatred of the Clintons (still distrust them) and still believe in some of the fiscal conservative platforms (I'm a social liberal though).

But after watching McCain the last month... I'd now be voting for Hillary Clinton if she had been the nominee against McCain. I still don't "like" her, or even trust her. But there is no way I can support McCain... ever.

I really appreciate the tone and tenor of Senator Obama's response to Senator McCain's accusation.

Does anyone in the news remember that there was some ethnic cleansing going on before the durge ( oops, surge), and it was just about over by the time the surge started. Remember all the thousands of dead bodys in the streets of Iraq. All the people that were fleeing their neighborhoods and often the country. McDoozy keeps the "surge worked" mantra going night and day, but none of you folks in the press actually confont him on the exact reasons the so called surge drew down violence or the fact that some very important political bechmarks have not been met. The violence was already dropping by the time the surge started and the Sunni's were already working on starting their offensive against Al Quaida before the surge started. So you question Barak like crazy about this one point of, does he think the surge is a succes,( what five times from Katie) but nobody in the press is confronting John McForgetful about the actual facts of what happened before , during and since the surge has started. Why does he get this free ride all the time? Is it because everybody is in Europe?
