There is one more John McCain gaffe that the media missed from the now famous CBS interview with Katie Couric.
This is the same interview in which McCain claimed the surge led to the Anbar Awakening, which is demonstrably false. But watch below for another gaffe when McCain says Iraq was the first major conflict after 9/11.
Was Afghanistan not major enough for him? It almost reminds you of when Don Rumsfeld was not impressed with invading Afghanistan because it did not provide a rich enough target environment. He needed something more major.

Can SOMEONE in the MSM (hint, hint First Read) call this incompetent doddering old fool out for his MANY gaffes, misinterpretations, misunderstandings and downright lies? He totally botched the timeline on the surge, he gave a speech in Canada and Colombia; he thinks Iraq borders Afghanistan, he does not understand the fundamentals of the politics in Iraq (Sunni vs Shi'ites), nor the economy by his own admission; and most importantly his whole campaign is based on bashing Obama. He NEVER delineates ANY of his platforms, positions or ideas.
Yet enablers like Andrea Mitchell, Katie Couric, George Stephanopolos and others continually make excuses for his gaffes and inadequacies.

First Read: you are the network of Huntley and Brinkley, John Chancellor, and Tim Russert. For the love of God, integrity, and all that is noble about journalism, please do some objective reporting on John McCain. Please assign someone to objectively question this person who aspires to the highest office in the land.
Compared to the historical, thorough, forthright, and ethical news people who have worked at NBC, Andrea Mitchell is an unabashed embarrassment for your network. Please assign an objective reporter to question the candidates; this biased blatant favoritism Mitchell portrays is an insult to all the great news people who have ever labored for NBC.

You are so right. The elderly can remember with great detail what may have happened in their childhood, incredibly enough. The long term memory remains very strong. However, their short term memory becomes a problem for them when senility sets in.

Obama's trip was purely a campaign trip, regardless of what he says. He had a few years to visit Iraq and Afghanistan, but didn't. Why all of a sudden? It couldn't be because of an election coming up could it? He wouldn't do that would he? Isn't that being just what he says he wants to change? A Typical Politician.
The speech did draw from the Great Republican Ronald Reagan's "Tear down that Wall" speech, as you can clearly tell when he started talking about walls. And then the Kennedy touch with "It's our time".
In respone to Pat Huntington, if there is no Iraq war, why do all politicians call it a war? The Korean war was never declared a war by Congress either, but it's still called a war!

McCain is just having another Senior Moment. Add in his knock about Obama traveling out of the country while people here are suffering. He forgot that he was in Colombia and Mexico earlier in July. Another Senior Moment.

June was a long time ago. Early July was a long time ago. It slipped his mind. Or the Campaign Has Changes since 9/11... or The Surge... or just Changed because he said so.

McCain is the worst major party presidential nominee in the history of the country. Every day has another one of these. If the Main Stream Media wasn't so in love with him, and at times actively cheerleading him, it would be obvious to everyone except for the Fox News crowd. Just awful.

McCain didn't pass out fliers on his trip to canada to attend a political rally with bands. To compare the trips is why they call it the liberal media bias. Obama has flip flopped on the walls on our southern border which he voted for but is now against on the wall in israel which he was against before he is for it. Why not headlines about Obama forgetting. Obama has been all over the map on nafta in 2004 saying it had been great for illinios then against it then for it.
