Did anyone notice that McCain's web ad on Obama's energy plan is backed by Jackson Browne's Running on Empty? I know Browne is a strong democrat, any way to find out if he approved the use (or maybe his label owns the rights?) I sure hope he didn't and will ask them to remove it!!

Putting a million hybrids on the road is a great idea. Conservatives know though there will need to be a lot more electricity producing power plants to charge all those batteries. Liberals on the other hand think that kind of power comes from a plug on the wall.

Obama - Tells you you need to take responsibility for cutting back on your energy use by keeping your tires properly inflated. (The Dept of Energy and NASCAR agree that you should do this to increase gas mileage.)

McCain - Attends the bike rally in Sturgis and holds a rally where, instead of applauding, they sit on their motorcycles with engines idling and rev the engines in approval while wasting gasoline.

Apparently McCain has never heard of the word "conservation".

If he had his way the country would take at least 10 years to get any benefits from drill, drill, drill, drill, and more drilling, and the construction of nuclear plants.

Conservation can make an impact NOW!!!! We can better insulate our homes, get programmable thermostats, lower thermostats, turn off lights, hybrid cars are happening NOW, we can lower our driving speed, and yes, yes, yes, use those tire gauges to inflate your tires to the proper level.

Conservation is an important step we ALL can do to make a difference rather than allow the oil industry to continue to make record profits.

I really admire Obama's ability to analyze and rethink his positions based on the needs of us Americans.

He is so thoughtful and intelligent and sends a powerful message that he and we are in control of where we are going as a nation.

It is good to see that we as individuals can do our part. It makes you feel more empowered and not so helpless as we have felt within the last 8 years.

Having McCain as president will bring that feeling of hopelessness back again. That cannot happen.

There are 700 million barrels of oil in the SPR, so this would be 10% reduction.

70 million barrels at $120 a barrel = $8.4 Billion.

$8.4 Billion would be enough to kick start the wind, solar, biomass, and geothermal initiatives and enough to get GM & Ford retooled, rehiring, and moving forward on building new hybrids/electric cars.

I did that last month, partly cause my old one was too hard to adjust. Wow, what a difference. My electric use has dropped significantly by having a more accurate thermostat and being able to pre-set the temperature when I'm not home or when I'm sleeping.

It will definately be nice this winter when I can leave the furnance on low during the night and have it kick on 20 mins before I wake up so it's not freezing cold when I take a shower. No need to run it all night long.

When is Obama going to visit one of the Millions of acres that the oil companies have leases on that does not have them drilling for oil? This would be a great picture and reminder of the oil companies wanting tax breaks and ability to drill but not wanting to drill as their oil comes easier and cheaper from foreign investments and buying on the market.

Everything is funny to the GOP/McCain Campaign, have they become the party of jokers? I just heard that the GOP/McCain Campaign were going to give out tire gauges. They think it is funny! I want to know were I can get one. I need a tire gauge. I want to do everything I can to conservative energy. If you know where they are giving them out, let me know. Maybe you need one, too? Does the GOP/McCain Campaign want to keep us laughing without finding any solutions that work? Are they the class clowns? When I want political humor, I watch the Daily Show.
