In the spirit of the summer Olympics starting later this week, I say we judge political pundits and score them. After all, they seem intent on judging us every which way they can. They try to influence us; I think it is high time we influence them.

Let’s see how Fox News does in the balance beam competition since they claim to be fair & balanced.

Would Hardball really be in the softball competition since they lob in some soft ones to McCain?

You get the idea. When will the media ever be responsible for the politics/politicians they drive us to?

As usual, The White House characterizes a claim and attacks the claimant, but does NOT (contrary to Politico's reporting) actually say it's FALSE.

Why does the media allow the McCain campaign to LIE DAILY about Senator Obama's positions?

- The media allows one arm of the McCain campaign to say that Obama is "flip flopping" on off shore drilling while the candidate himself continues to claim that Senator Obama is opposed to offshore drilling.

- On nuclear power - Senator Obama has said - REPEATEDLY that he could support nuclear power if done responsibly and safely. Yet Senator McCain and his surrogates continue to claim that he is against it.

- This also happened with the Iraq debate, when John McCain was allowed to say that Senator Obama's plan was not based on "conditions on the ground" (which is NOT true) while simultaneously accusing him of flip flopping in Iraq because he would modify the withdrawal timetable because of conditions on the ground.

Is the media ever going to point this out? If not, why not?

McCain's SMEAR AND FEAR tactics took the day off and Obama returned to adddressing America serious issues. It's clear, McCain supports BIG OIL, BIG OIL supports McCain. Obama preasents GREAT, REALISTIC, PLANS to solve American energy problems. Granted, it will take time, but no one has really addressed this issue for 3 decades. Here is another example of McCain being tied to Bush 43.

The Bush fake letter: To me, if it is true, it is clearly an impeachable action. There just isn't enough time in the 43 administration to do much. I wish Bush 43 could be tried in a criminal court, but I doubt that will happen either. This is another reason why the country needs change. Restoring the Constitution will be an Obama priority.

The tire gauge: The republicans are good at taking some little something and making a big deal out of it, i.e. the tire gauge. Actually keeping tires inflated is a good idea and this smear will go no where.

VP: I know some are excited about Bayh, but I still don't think it will happen. It could be as simple as Obama wants to bring Bayh into the campaign loop. It is more significant that Indiana is opening 24 to 30 offices in Indiana. Some of the leadership came from....Iowa. Obama will carry Indiana. The 50 state strategy is working.

this message nust be relayed to the American people about the smokescreen of drilling.we are operating at 98% refining capacity in the U.S. There is no place for any newly drilled oil to go except india or china.
THESE ARE FACTS... REPORT THIS
I'm from texas,been in oil over twenty years, and I can tell you we can't even handle any more oil. we are PAST flush. building new refineries, my specialty BTW, I can have new refining units(small ones through out the country) up and running inside of a year and a half. when we build new reifineries only then will a drilling discussion even be relavant.

there are several aspects to our energy independence:
1. new refineries
2. more hybrid,electric technology through government infusion.... unfettered capitalism= run away greed
3. drilling for new domestic supplies
4. I know it would never happen because of too much money and politics but you could always... .nationalize the oil companies under the national security act... that would take too much courage.
But it must be done in that order... any new oil before new refineries would go global to india china.

too many people are rattling on without any idea of what they are talking about... that's called ignorance... by definition

but oh no, if the media reports the truth like that would it squash mccain's message... oh no we couldn't do that to him even if it is the TRUTH!
