I agree. Starting in 2004 (when he embraced George Bush), my respect for John McCain has been spiraling downward. I keep thinking he can't go any lower and then he makes another meanspirited, pandering move.

I'm a military spouse of 17 years. I see how military families are struggling and know that the same holds true for many nonmilitary families as well.

I know I am concerned about education, the environment, reducing our dependency on oil, etc.. It's going to take a lot to reverse the poor decisions of the Bush Administration. We should be talking about that fact and the real issues not comparing Barack Obama to Brittany Spears and Paris Hilton. That type of talk just makes John McCain look like an angry, old man.

Bottom line is that it is up to all Americans not to fall for that type of attack ad. We keep saying that we don't like dirty politics and then we vote for the politicians that employs those tactics. Time for Change !! Vote for Barack Obama !!

We have children and we want them to inherit a planet in the best shape possible. We do tune up our vehicles regularly, including tire pressure checks. We recycle. We use compact fluorescent bulbs. We turn off our vampires when not in use--in short, we do our part while waiting for an older generation in Washington to wake up and realize the planet doesn't die when they do.

I have no use for an old guy who thinks he's cute when he offers up his wife to a raunchy meat contest. I'd like the First Lady and the President to inspire and provide more than Miss Buffalo Chip and cheap shots for my kids' futures.

I think Obama has struck on a good ad strategy--ask if people are better off now than they were four years ago. That's the central question.

(P.S. Does the MSM immediately call someone from the McCain camp to tattle-tale on what Obama said? It's amazing that McCain and his camp are able to produce statements before news of Obama events hits FR.)

Tire pressure results to efficient fuel usage of the vehicle and definitely is not a solution to achieve oil independence... so why the big fuss Barak? I'm not sure if the McCain camp has heard of this relatively new thing call 'Math.' If off shore would add about 1% to our consumption in 4 years (if the current levels stay the same) and filling our tires would save us 3% in one year, then yes, by simply keeping your car maintained WOULD save more than any and all off shore drilling. It's not that hard.

It's becoming rather apparent who's looking out for who here: McCain = more drilling, more money for Big Oil. Obama = an independent, 'take charge' of your personal consumption, more money for you.
