This story stinks and shows that the MSM is in the tank for the democratic party. the evidence was there and no one acted on it, but i remember a front page article on McCain with no evidence. Hmmmm

First of all, stop giving the National Enquirer the credibility of being a reliable news source...this isn't "Men In Black". The Enquirer wouldn't know journalistic integrity if it walked up and punched them in the face!

Now, for those of you who wanted to see the MSM report a story about an Edwards affair, there's a little detail that we like to call "evidence". You actually have to have some kind of evidence that points to the story being true before you go to print. Without it, any story about the Edwards affair would be laughed down by any editor of any reputable newspaper.

Oh, and by the way, there is a word for running a story that makes a baseless claim about a person's integrity as any story about the Edwards affair run without proof would have done...it's called "libel"!

I hope some of the Obamatots will take a step back and really think about the lies from Edwards. BHO has told lies about his personal associations and supporters want to pass it off, doesn't matter. CHARACTER does matter. If BHO has the gall to lie to us about his minister, there's probably not much he wouldn't lie to us about. I also hope for some of the younger voters that your eyes are opened. JFK was a great speaker, inspirational but he had the morals of an alley cat. To your point...I was watching CNN (AC360 I think) on Friday. They were talking to some reporter who tried to defend the MSM not following this because "trusted staffers" told them it was false, so they (the MSM) thought this had "no legs".

We know that Edwards' staffers were in the dark (at least most of them) - but that aside...Since when does the MSM take what staffers say about things like this at face value? What happened to INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISM?

Oh, I forgot - that's just for Dateline Predator stories, right?

I also heard Chuck talk about this was a story in the blogosphere and no where else. He said this with much disdain and dismissal.

Anyway, I'd like to say that I really can not believe how overblown this coverage of Edwards is. Somebody explain to me what this has to do with his policy positions?

Anyway, look at the bright side- he isn't trying to move in on people in a bathroom stall or taking massive bribe money from oil companies or suspending habeas corpus.

Edwards was the only candidate I sent money to during the primary and I did it because he got the media and other candidates to focus on poverty in America. Say what you will about Edwards, he drove the issues in the campaign, and that resonated with me.

As an Iowan, who has been going to caucuses since 1980 the idea that Edwards supporters would have caucused from Clinton in numbers to allow a Clinton victory is a joke! Either Howard doesn't know the facts about the "Clinton problem" in Iowa, or he's knowingly making a false conclusion. Even Carville wouldn't agree with Wolfson this morning on ABC. Clinton was hardly anyone's second choice. If Edwards wasn't in the race in Iowa, Obama would have won, Clinton might have come in second instead of a close third, but most of Edwards supporters would have gone to Obama, Biden and Richardson by far greater numbers than Clinton.

The biggest disgrace is that the media is not comparing this to John McCain's deplorable behavior when he cheated on his first wife after she was injured in a car accident and apparently was no longer "cute" enough for him.
