I got a ridicuous e-mail from an old ex-hippy type like Angelina's neglectful father, John Voight, who supposedly turned back on himself into a self promoting, (so-called) political neocon sage.

The message was one full of dates, and statistics trying to prove that as of 2005 all was right with America, but things went downhill only after the dems flooded the media with negative propaganda which caused everything to go to hell, and the Congress to have a Democratic majority which has sealed our fate in failure.

My question in response is this:

If GWB was such a stellar leader, would he not have the intelligence, influence, and power to overcome obvious lies? Would he not have the leadership to prevent falsehood from ruining all his economic accomplishments?

I hate to generalize with terms like "the MSM" as if it is a club where news organizations get together and come up with that day's agenda, but i really hope the Obama campaign pushes MSM members HARD on this. The media, FR, etc. have a responsibility to squash lies - you do it when the candidates "stretch the truth", you have to also do it with surrogates and "friends" of surrogates.

While the Kerry campaign should have fought the swift boat stuff harder, it was pathetic that media folks only covered the issue with a "how will this affect the election" commentary and not pointing out, forcefully, that it was all a LIE.

This is why a lot of younger folks (and 37 year olds like me) end up looking to shows like The Daily Show for news. As far as I know, Jon Stewart's show was the only one that pointed out, on a continuous basis, the outright lies from that group. (although, to be fair, I should point out that Steve Croft from 60 minutes told an undecided Ohio voter during the primaries that NO, Barak Obama was NOT a Muslim. I almost fell out of my chair when that happened.)

Unfortunately you should read it for yourself. I have read both Obama books written by him and this one you are commenting on. Read the book several months ago. The book has footnotes and you can gather all the information you want on the net. Unfortunately you have tunnel vision. An open-minded person who trusts their own judgment is not fearful of reading books or doing research about a subject that is both pro and con. I have wondered why I was seeing such a mob mentality amongst the Obama supporters. In 2004 when he gave his speech I started keeping an eye on him out of interest because his speech resonated with me. Because of his speech in 2004 I started keeping track of him via the internet so allot of the references that are in the book I already have on file. To say that this author should be sued for defamation of character is foolish because then we would have to do the same for Michel Moore and many others. And to call the author a bigot and a racist is also foolish. What you also fail to see is the political profiter tag could also be applied to Obomas two books. There are two side to every coin trust I wonder if you trust your own judgment when as a mob you fail to look at both sides.

I am not agreeing with everything Mr. Cori's book says by any means, but I understand one of the things Mr. Corsi had the nerve to claim is that Mr. Obama belonged to "a radical, black church".

Had the swift boat guys been wrong Kerry or any real person that got smeared would have sued, but he did not, thus the facts must have been true enough. Obama if all he does is talk and does not sue is in the same boat. The facts are true, but lets smear the messanger so to distract from the facts. All Obama has to do is sue and that would end it. A 40 page reply is fanning the flames as it just attacks Corsi and not the facts.

To sue or not to sue that is the question and if the answer is not to; the facts must be correct no matter how bad you O people want them not to be.
