Biden is the one I'm banking on. I can't wait to see him break down Romney or Pawlenty. Speaking of those two, how unlikable are they? Every time I see either one of them on TV, I just want to change the channel. Completely unlikable.

But Kaine did a good job and owned Jindal on MTP this week. His response to Karl Rove was spectacular as well.

He just doesn't have the background yet.

Obama's choices for Veep are wide open. McCain has barricaded himself between a bunch of walls.

He waited too late to name his choice. Now if he does it on Friday, his birthday, which is usually the time to dump bad news, it will not have the effect of squashing Obama's convo bump.

Even his choices are problematic. Obama has a wonderful field to choose from. However, Ridge, Romney, and Pawlenty all have huge negative drawbacks for McCain.

McCain has mismanaged his veep selection.

I don't agree that Biden will undercut Obama's change platform. What a bunch of hogwash! 'Change' means get rid of the failure in Washington. Biden is a gem.

Does anyone besides me get the feeling that, outside of the media, this VP horse race is pretty much a big yawn?

Obama needs to pick someone that does him no harm. Period. Personally, I don't think that the Dem candidate picks a sitting Dem Senator, unless his replacement is an odds-on lock to keep the seat.

McCain needs to pick someone likely to not die of old age for the next four years. It would help if the Repub base could live with him in the role of POTUS for a couple of years, but that is not an absolute.

Other than those minimal qualifications, I don't think that the general public much cares who is in the number two slot.

I agree with NJ that if Obama picks either Bayh or Kaine, it's over. Kaine, while I like him, is too new to the scene and will allow McCain to REALLY play the experience card against Obama. Bayh is about as exciting as vanilla ice cream,and though he has some foreign policy experience under his belt, he simply does not exude an air of "toughness." People say that he will do no harm, but he will also do no good!! Out of the three who are supposed to be on the short list, only Biden will help.

As someone who despised the Clintons during the primaries...I think Obama should take Hillary. I'd feel a whole lot comfortable knowing Obama is keeping tabs on the Clintons rather than allow them to plot against him. Besides, if Obama were to pick Clinton, there will be no excuse why the Democratic party is not unified (I'm calling you out, PUMA schmucks). In the end, Hillary will be the running mate because she has the highest profile, and as much as I love Joe Biden, he doesn't bring much to the table. Its time that Dems stop falling for the Republican trap of National security and own the domestic issues (because its the economy that's going to win the election for the Dems).

It pains me to say Bill Clinton has cost this Country in so many ways. As someone who was very supportive of him- I refuse to be an apologist any more.

Simply put- His Scandals- sexual and otherwise, were just enough to cost the Democrats the White House in 2000!

His actions made it possible for the Right to play the 'family values' and 'morals' card over and over. Gore had to distance himself from 8 years of relative peace and prosperity. (For those that doubt- if you don't think Clinton's actions swayed at least 560 people in semi-conservative Fla- your nuts)

This counrty was on a MUCH different path had Willy not become so Slick (or just wasn't found out). Lord knows how many Democratic Candidates suffered due to BC's actions as everyone ran away from him and had to start trumping their own moral virtues. In 2000 the race (in states and the country) became more about 'values' and less about policy- and was stolen away!!!

Fast foward 8 years and the GOP has repeatedly shot itself in the foot with their own multiple scandals- not to mention John McCain's treatment of his ex-wife. Notice how we have heard NOTHING about Family values this time around. Surely the GOP will go scare tactics w/ racial overtones in this cycle- the larger point though-

Bill Clinton should be doing anything and everything he can to help the Democratic nominee- he OWES it to this Country, to the people he has let down that believed in him (like me) and he owes it to himself to try and restore some shred of what should have been a very positive Legacy.

Instead he has become a bitter whiner and even reflected very poorly on Hillary's Campaign. To me she has always been the brains of that outfit- but the fact that HE by all reports called the shots (like the 3AM ad) and she was very indecisive was very disappointing.

I'm an apologist no more for these two- they are dead to me!
