Biden?!! We had to endure all this media fanfare for Joe Biden?! What a disappointing choice. I contributed signifantly to the Kerry campaign in 2008, but I don't believe I'll be contributing to the Obama-Biden ticket. Work is hard, and I don't want to waste the money I earn on this ticket, which appears now to be a loser. In fact it appears that the Democrats are purposely trying to lose the election by choosing Biden as the VP pick-- he's such an incredible blabbermouth. McCain has the opportunity to bring into the Republican party all of us who have been left out in the last few years and those who vote with us - a majority of the electorate
The Big Umbrella that all political parties in the USA have opened, to take into as many of our diverse factions and beliefs has not been opened for many years.
What does McCain need to do to get elected? Incidentally, that was the reason for the Big Unbrella in the first place.

First, he must add to the ticket someone who will appeal to all those enthusiastic woman who supported Hillary and her contest.
Second, he must appeal to those pro-choice members of his party. Until recently, this number was by far a majority of those in the US and in the Republican Party. Silenced by the Right to Lifers, they put up and shut up. They are still out there. I am one of them.
Third, he must look to someone who will appeal in the blue states. The majority of Americans live in California and down East. New York, New Jersey, Pennsylania and Massachusetts have more or less ben abandoned by the concervatives.
Fourth, he must geographically balance the ticket as well. Geographic balance has always been a Theorem of American Vice Presidential selection. Even the Bushes adhered to the theory.
Fifth, he should look to someone who would carry his or her own voters in his or her locality, who would adhere to the ticket because that person was on it.
and Sixth, he should select someone who does not "stink" of Bush.

That VP candidate whould be someone with administrative skills, absent from both tickets at the present time.

The person who fills this bill: Christine Todd Whitman.

She is strong: a former governor (two times) of New Jersey, she is pro-choice. Whitman quit Bush, quietly, but because she did not like his policies. She is a governor and therefore has been a top administrator. She is from the East as he is from the West. She has appeal down East, as a member of the Eastern Establishment. She supports the "Big Umbrella" -- just read her "It's My Party, Too." She hardly carries Bush's stamp of approval.

Most of all she is a WOMAN, someone who can fit in the image of Hillary and inspire the same female excitement that Hillary evoked.

She is the perfect choice for McCain's VP.

Would Bush Limbaugh scream? Of course, and the louder his screams the more the public will support Christine.

Poor Senator Clinton, I feel so bad for her. First she had her chance stolen by the DNC and Supers, then on the news last nite we learned that obama was stabbing her in the back as well. His conduct toward Hillary is a disgrace. Just watching the news and seeing what those anchors were saying about how obama treated her really upset me. She deserved better. As a supporter of hers, just to see how she has tried to unite the party for him, and him treat her so bad.
I don't know if I can bring myself to vote for him now. I may just not Vote.
