In 2000 McCain was a maverick and enjoyed the support of many who followed his desire to be "for something" rather than "against something". The McCain of 2000 was for change, major change. Even at the expense of having his own party disown him as a rebel with a cause.

But the Mccain of 2008 is quite differnt. Rather than being for something Mccain is now running on the basis of being against something. Rather than jumping on the bandwagon for change even at the expense of losing part of his base McCain is now running a campaign against change, and against an opponent who like the McCain of 2000 called for a new type of politics. But rather than remain committed to this idea McCain is now relying on that which he himself denounced in 2000, the old establishment and the same old nit-picking Washington politics to win this election.

McCain will lose this eletion because this candidate is no longer John McCain, but rather a clone, a nemises of the real John McCain, the dark side. The side that has succumbed to the forces of darkness. Voters want light, not darkness. And when looking at the McCain of 2008 people see night instead of day. And for those with some hope that McCain is yet who he was, there is a shroud of grey where there once was a bit of hope, a bit of sunlight.

Hillary saying all the right things

Well, I have a suggestion for Hillary as to what else she can do...do a TV ad for Obama, appealing directly to your hold out supporters, and those who say they are voting McCain, and tell them it makes zero sense to vote for someone [McCain] who's the complete oppisite of her on the issues, over someone [Obama] who is almost identical as she is on the issues. He wasted at least a half an hour blathering about this.

Hillary saying all the right things

Saw Hillary at the New York Delegation breakfast. I don't quite get why there are still such active hard feelings on her supporters side, but maybe if the table was turned I would feel the same. I remember thinking back when it was close that maybe I would just have to stay at home. But I'm sure by now after seeing Jonh McGoofy I would vote for almost any democrat they could put on the docket before casting for him. He jsut flat out scares me. Our future with him would be grave. I feel that and know that in the strongest way possible. I still think Hillory can be a strong advocate for the party andthe people no matter what she chooses or is chosen to do next. I'm pretty sure after the battering that htey gave each other that a shared ticket couldn't have worked and I don't believe she would have wanted to be number two anyway. She'll have a great shot at it in eight years and who knows what our world will look like by then. Its mindless fodder I suppose...for the mindless.

Hillary saying all the right things

Remember back a few months ago when Obama said that all of Hillary's supporters would vote for him but he wasn't sure she could get the votes of his supporters?

Looks like he was a bit mistaken and may lose the election because of the way he trashed Bill and Hillary Clinton during the primaries.

Tim Russert called him out on his race baiting during one of the debates as he , uh, you know, ah, um ah, hemmed and hawed his way through some BS response.

And now more trash talk from the Obama folks:

DENVER -- A black Hillary Clinton delegate on Sunday accused state Senate President Emil Jones of calling her an "Uncle Tom."
Jones -- Barack Obama's political mentor -- denied using the racially loaded slur against Chicago political consultant Delmarie Cobb, but two aldermen who said they witnessed the Saturday night exchange back up Cobb's account.

http://www.suntimes.com/news/elections/1124667,CST-NWS-dem25.article

So much for unity!
Hillary saying all the right things

Sen. What she's done in the primaries were kid gloves. In fact, she's given Obama some much needed training. What else do you folks want from Hilary - have her on her knees begging for mercy?

Let me make this clear, it is YOU people who ought to be begging for mercy for her and her supporters to assure the thin resume Obama the White House. A communist country effectively used their rising middle-class to put on the greatest show ever AND win the most gold medals. There were just too few Moms’s and Dad’s like Michael Phelp’s or Shawn Johnson’s who’s sacrifice was enough to propel their kids to the top. The rest were too distracted by mortgage failures, medical expenses, gas prices and educational budget-cuts, all problems that grew during two+ decades of rising corporate tax-cuts and profits.

This election is possibly the last chance to save the working middle-class and everything it does for this country. In spite of my Haïtian ascent and my carefully phrased remarks. It is undoubtedly so when a taboo should be broken through. A taboo of magnitude, Sir, I admit it. A ’scientific’ taboo, seldom encountered.

‘ The taboo arises as a negative categorical imperative,’ affirms Roger Caillois.

It is not saying little. Especially when it is a question of adequately correcting the theory of Newton on light and colors.

However, at the dawn of the twenty first century, to denounce this taboo, to reverse it, should I say, what an asset! Moreover, at the same time the multiple taboos grow blurred which surround another phenomenon of the highest scientific range, the well known phenomenon under the abusive name of ‘Black Holes’, synthesis of light and colors. Indeed Newton, in good faith undoubtedly in his time, really reversed the interpretation of the phenomenon of light. He took the part for the whole ! So much and so well that today like yesterday, the visible appears so much more tempting. Physicists say it: ‘ninety to ninety nine percent of the matter of the universe (Grosso Modo - said here roughly by Lucien BONNET - for more precisions see "LINKS" or "GOOGLE") is made up of a dark matter, invisible, which generates, propels and surrounds the visible, like the sea surrounds the continents’. Scientists such as Stephen Hawking affirm it. The Hubble Telescope confirms it. But theoretical Optics is stagnant.

My intervention, here, Senator Obama, would mean that. It is possible to use another form of energy. By decoding the Black Matter.Without a play on words. Theoretically initially. While ‘returning the elevator to Newton’ - without a play on words. By the Act which consists in making an AMENDMENT TO THE LAW OF NEWTON ON LIGHT AND COLORS.

Presently, why should we take the result instead of the cause?

— Objectively and in a pragmatic way, how not focussing on the new synthesis?

Consequently, what a liberation !

At the threshold of the third millennium, let light live, invisible by synthesis, visible by analysis !

‘Synthesis and analysis are two wings of the same bird, the rythm of the universe’s heartbeat, tamed inside the infinitely small having mass. Successively contracted and deployed. In the benefit of humanity.’

One small step for Man, one giant leap for Mankind - I also said myself - in ‘ BILL A RI and there was light !… ‘

Unfortunate, yes, but how much a convenient Energy crisis if I dare say, which invites us to explore other avenues, other concepts and, therefore, other resources so far neglected.

Invitation to go from the invisible to the visible and vice versa. Taking advantage of the sequence of colorless and colored luminous speeds. In order to better understand the Universe. Where Law and Order prevail. Just like in Democracy !

Energetic formula with a unique character !

In the name of Science and Technology, vapor is being reverse !

A winning formula !

In The United States Of America.

By The United States Of America.

For The United States Of America and abroad !

With you today, Senator Obama, I repeat this sentence - since 1972 and 1978 - that is to say forty years old, but always, in my opinion, carrying the same message that I wish more and more positive for the years to come, in the third millennium, as I said since 1972 and on April 10, 1978, in a Letter to Doctor Carl Sagan:

‘On the cosmic scale as on the terrestrial scale, darkness or blackness forms an integral, sine qua non part, of color and light pocess’.

Is it still broad daylight
in the shadow of the black sun?

Yours truly,
Lucien BONNET

PLEASE SEE ‘Bill A Ri And There Was Light !’
in http://www.contact-canadahaiti.ca

LINKS (JANUARY 12, 2008)
UBC astronomer makes first map of dark matter
CTV.ca - 11 Jan 2008
For the first time, a team of UBC scientists have mapped the elusive ‘dark matter’ in a supercluster of stars in the night sky.
New map lets scientists ’see’ dark matter CBC News
Astronomers get best look yet at dark matter surrounding galaxies The Canadian Press.

Hillary saying all the right things

I have yet to understand why Democrats would vote for John McCain under any circumstances. We have all experienced disappointment yet to seek revenge for a candidate's loss by voting for a party that has put our country in the mess we are in, is far beyond my comprehension.

I am a 60 year old woman who grew up with all brothers, had all sons and am very familiar with the issues we women have faced. Yet, I sincerely hope that those who might be considering this option will rethink their position. Your decision will not help anyone to get healthcare, equal pay, a better economy, advance all human rights or any other important issue we now face.

Can you justify taking more away from the American people than we have already given up?

Hillary saying all the right things

Unfortunately, there is currently no InTrade betting line on whether or not Bill Clinton will act like a big baby on Wednesday night. Too bad.

It was reported on Sunday that Bill Clinton is unhappy and annoyed with his designated speaking topic for the Democratic National Convention, which is that he talk on why Barack Obama would be a better Commander in Chief than John McCain.

It seems pretty clear that this speaking assignment is payback for Bill's juvenile response to the question a reporter asked him a few weeks ago, "do you think Barack Obama is ready to be Commander in
Chief?" Still unable to get over the fact that team-Clinton lost the primary, --instead of an emphatic "yes, and let me tell you why"-- the former President gave the embarrassing response "... well, you could argue that no one is ever ready. The Constitution sets out those requirements..." In other words, 'all I'm going to admit is that Obama is at least 35 years old.' It was a remarkable display of Bill Clinton continuing to put his his own hurt feelings and bruised ego ahead of the interest of the Democratic party and the ideals he ostensibly holds dear.

The most common criticism of Bill Clinton during Hillary's primary campaign was that he just couldn't manage to stay on message and stop talking about himself. Now, Clinton remains upset because he feels
that Obama didn't speak positively enough about his administration. According to Sunday's article, the topic Bill wants to speak on is one of "general Democratic themes." Gee, I wonder what the context of
those general democratic themes would be? Perhaps how great America used to be, say, between 1992 and 2000?

With the assignment of his speaking topic, the Obama campaign sent a clear message to Bill Clinton: get over yourself, and start being a team player.

So, here's the great entertainment for the Wednesday night. Will Bill Clinton take his marching orders and gush about what a great Commander in Chief Obama will make, perhaps squirming visibly, but without a doubt, writhing in agony in his soul? Or will the famously undisciplined former President simply go "off topic", reminisce about how great the Clinton years were, and once again put his own ego ahead of the interest of his party? If InTrade did have a betting line on such a thing, I think I'd put my money on the latter. Anybody want to make a bet?

Hillary saying all the right things

What is going to happen when after the roll call, Hillary wins the vote?
