Michelle was GREAT. She helped reach a lot of folks.

Is it me or do they totally disrespect Mika on Morning Joe? They never let her finish a sentence, they talk over her like her opinion does not count and Joe makes rude jokes about her and she just sits there with a blank look on her face, like she is scared to really speak back to him.
I know she is his ‘Side Kick’, but does that mean he can kick her (back) side at his whim?

Just my observation…

Michelle was GREAT last night, wasn’t she? Love it !!! She’ll be a lovely and gracious First Lady.

The democratic party has blown this in Michigan it should be a no brainer here.

Obama is up in Ohio and in striking range in Florida?

Well, still early and within that timeframe when these polls don't mean too much, but... wow. To hear the pundits for the last couple months, neither state is even a battleground anymore.

Obama may be able to lose both and still cruise to 270, if a couple of the states that are being called battlegrounds come through for him.

He can't lose Pennsylvania, though, and this is probably part of the rationale behind the Biden pick. Biden lives in part of the Philly media market and is from Scranton. Plus he's good at counter-attacking, and McCain has made clear this will be a negative campaign season.

Anyway, let's see where those Ohio and Florida numbers are in mid-September. If Obama can win either, we're probably looking at an easy electoral win.

The polls are also illustrating something the media has not explored or explained.

Obama has raised incredible amounts of money from average working people. McCain has had to depend largely on fund raising events to finance his campaign.

Obama has always attracted large crowds - from 10,000 to 70,000 (Portland, Oregon). McCain is hoping to attract 15,000 during the Ohio rally. If he does, it will be 5 times larger than any crowd he has had to date.

Obama has inspired people from all walks of life. McCain is still inspiring Old Republicans in town hall meetings. Obama has inspired people around the world! McCain has not.

Are we once again being programmed and conditioned to accept another corrupted voting tabulation in November? Computers are easy to tamper with - this has already been a problem in several states.

Has anyone else wondered about the POLLS? DOES ANYONE SMELL A RAT?

It's about the States baby....and I will be curious to see what these state by state polls look like after the first debate...by the way...even as an Obama Supporter, I will be more than happy to admit that if he loses one, two or any of the debates. I call it the way I see it....and not by party line talking points. We'll see.

Yes, Dee, I, too, smell a rat. We have to turn out in very huge numbers to overcome voter suppression efforts and voting machine tampering. And even then, after the election, no matter who is elected, I'm worried about what the Bush/Cheney administration is going to do between November and January. If they do what they seem like they're itching to do (make war) by really the only means they have left (nuclear weapons), a new president taking office in January will be moot. We need to stop listening to the con of "impeachment ain't gonna happen" and get on with it.

Spot On -" Michelle was great" I started watching Joe when Mika was filling in for him while he was awaiting the birth of his baby. Mika was great - bright, informed, asked really good questions. I can barely stand to watch it now with Joe. He just likes to hear himself talk. Mika is reduced to OOOing and ahhhhing when he says something. He barely lets his guests get a word in.
I remember he had a gentleman on who wrote a book about Obama's econmic plan. Joe starts by saying "gee in these tough times do you think it is wise for Obama to raise taxes. The gentleman explained very clearly Obama was not going to raise taxes - he was going to give the middle class tax breaks and yes he was going to take away the tax break the Bush Admin. had given the top 1% of this country, etc. When the guy finished speaking how did Joe end the segment? - he said - well it's just not smart to raise taxes at this time!!! I almost fell off the chair!!
He and David Schuster got into it this morning - way to go David. Joe can't hold a candle to you. David did a great job on Hardball while Chris was out. Did anyone else see this exchange between David and Joe?

Polls show Obama dead even with McCain in Ohio and slightly ahead in Virginia, Michigan, Penn and Colorodo. If all polls stay the same as right now(a supposed dead heat)and Obama wins all four he wins the White House. If he wins Ohio it is a blow out. Why are Democrats so worried? Did you really think the first Black canidate was going to blow out a veteran like McCain?

If Obama does okay this weak and does okay in the debates, he should be okay.
