Well, I guess there is no need to hear from Rudy now. But we knew the Republicans were going to remind us about 9/11. Unfortunately for the Republicans, there are two problems about the 9/11 themed convention. Whereas the 2004 election was about national security, this election is about the economy. Second, it will be extremely difficult for anyone to say with a straight face that Sarah Palin is ready to protect America from the terrorists. I'm still hung up about her daughter's pregnancy and the fact that she supported the bridge to nowhere before she was against it.

What we have witnessed since last Friday is that John McCain has not learned the lessons of Brownie, Harriet Miers or Alberto Gonzalez - don't hire people who aren't qualified.
