The dems at their convention attacked McCain for being out of touch, his voting record, and his stance on the issues, ie., Iraq, the economy, drilling, etc.

The dem chorus had a constant theme throughout their convention. They consistently honored McCain's service as a veteran, and his suffering as a POW.

At the repub convention last night, they attacked Senator Obama with insults, sarcasm, mockery, and lies. The crowd dismissed him as a 'zero'. When they were called to recognize America’s historic achievement in his nomination, very few had the capacity to even acknowledge, let alone honor it.

Obama stood up for Palin, and her family. In response to his firm rebuke, the press backed off. In her speech last night, she spoke of him only with taunting disdain.

Senator Obama, remember what Christ taught.

"Do not cast your pearls before swine, lest they turn, and rend you".....

After watching Mika on Morning Joe practically swoon when she said she could so relate to Palin's family vs work situation. I must ask her and anyone else who is so taken with this woman's ability to manage 5 kids and a job if anyone realizes that the "average" woman with 5 kids pays thousands of dollars per year in day care, can't just stay home or hire a nanny when the kids are sick. Juggling a job and 5 kids isn't something the average woman can even consider doing because the cost of daycare far out weighs the cost of going to work.
So to compare Palins situation to any regular american woman (by regular I mean the one with normal jobs whose wages and not in triple digits) is just not even close to reality. And I resent the implication that we are all the same as Palin. She isn't anything close to being the kind of woman that impresses me.
She is dishonest, she is power hungry, and she puts herself before her family. If she wanted to be a big political player then she should have made the choice before she had 5 young children. Will she still have time to be a soccer mom if she is VP? She shouldn't, not if she does a good job. If you were to ask those little kids if they wanted mommy to be busy all the time or be their soccer mom, which do you think they would choose? Don't tell me I am sexist, I am not. Family values are "family values". Mom is mom for a reason.

Gov. Sarah Palin gave a nice speech and she is pretty but there is something I can't quite put my finger on that bothers me deep in my soul. I fear she does not represent mainstream America and I am a retired social worker with Cerebral Palsy and a mother of two grown children and was the mother of two foster children. I am also the proud grandmother of an 18 month old granddaughter.

I worry her primary interest in Alaska not America. I think she is too focused on her fundamentalist beliefs and I don't think she is very tolerant of most Americans.

I have grave questions about her handling of this Troopergate allegation and especially her postion about the library in Wasilla. It's the seemingly small things that can be so revealing. I thank the media for researching her and I hope they will keep it up and I am trusting my intuition.

I have said it before and I will say it again...Please cherish your vote and remember 2000.

Lately, Mikah has been reduced to just a sidekick of Scarborough completely overshadowed by his rants uttering only fluff and very little substance. The court papers for the restraining order show that. The troopers supervisor said it was not proper conduct for a trooper and warranted dissmisal.
