WOW! Rudy Giuliani! Nice job setting off the good ol' smear and fear machine! And to think you were my mayor. LISTEN! To all you sheeple out there that decide how you are going to vote based on fear of terrorism. A few facts.

You're twice as likely to die crushed under a vending machine as you are to die in a terrorist attack
You are 225,409 times more likely to die in an auto accident
More people accidentally shoot themselves to death than die in terror attacks
You are more likely to be legally executed than die in a terrorist attack
You are more likely to be struck by lightning three times than die in a terrorist attack
You are much more likely to die by bear or shark attack than die in a terrorist attack
These are scientific facts.
C'mon people wake up. Don't give into it this time. I am from NY. My best friend died in those towers that day. My sister lived on 5th and saw the plane fly over while getting coffee. Heard the explosion. Walked down to see if somehow she could help. She got there just after the second plane hit. All she could see was smoke and all she could hear was the constant thud of bodies hitting the ground. I personally know the pain of terrorism. I know what it feels like to see those you love killed and permanently affected by it and let me tell you this.
I AM NOT AFRAID!
I will not let the threat of terrorism affect my daily life and I have no reason too. I am a proud American and I carry on. As a proud American I refuse to accept that attacking soveriegn nations reduces terrorism. I believe quite the opposite. It has promoted terrorism. As a proud american and proud native New Yorker I believe that the Republicans let us all down by letting Bin Laden sit and rebuild on the border of Pakistan while we kill Iraqi civilians and American soldiers in the name of the war on terrorism. As a proud American I am ashamed that we took a noble cause and perverted it into a war for American economic interests.
Please America. Don't let them scare you. That is the very tactic of the enemy we have not yet defeated. We Americans are better than that. We won't be brainwashed by fear. We will be the shining light of democracy to the world by example, not by a gun.

Hey, I quit voting for nutjobs years ago, but I thought it was a pretty entertaining speech anyway, but man, didn't anybody fact check her speech before she gave it? Maybe they don't care, but in about 10 seconds any hack like me can find out that speech was fiction.

Absolutely true, Here is one american who wont tolerate the shroud of secrecy surrounding this scary lady. And i dont care about her gaggle of kids or their various problems. I want to know how she could use the fact that she has a special needs child as a campaign promise, when she slashed her Alaskan budget for those very children. Does she consider that the same as getting rid of the jet plane and cook??? Obama and Biden look better and better to me.......

I thought the speech was brilliant! She answered that she could handle the pressure, introduce herself effectively, and point out all the inexperience of Obama - who has no track record of proven results to speak of. He has not reached out across the isle and achieved reform and is has nothing on John McCain in terms of record & history of change. She didn't need to go crazy on policy last night - she was perfect - showing her stuff & background - and illustrating the huge difference between John McCain & Obama. A star was born last night as the liberals are scrambling for something to counter this maverick, genius pick. It's actually quite poetic.

I have two special needs children, on that I adopted who has behavioral issues related to a seizure disorder, and the other with CF. I'll be damn that having her in office is going to change the lack of funding for services and that she is availalbe to talk with me. Thanks for the tip about her own state budget for those with special needs. As long as the administration continues not to fund education and mental health nothing will change. I'm not going to place my bet on the 10% chance of change.

I may be eligible to run for VP....2 special needs kids, tons of work experience in child abuse and mental health, and I'm just about completed a doctorate. Hell....I even raised my 3 kids alone as a widow.

As a small town mayor, Sarah Palin HAD MORE RESPONSIBILTY THAN DID OBAMA AS A COMMUNITY ORGANIZER. That is not a put-down; it is a FACT.

What responsibility for personnel and budget does a Community Organizer have?

Community Organizers do work hard, in many cases, and often perform needed social services ---- BUT THAT DOES NOT EQUATE TO THE RESPONSIBILITY OF BEING A MAYOR OR A GOVERNOR.

Obama will have a hard time matching Governor Palin's experience and qualifications --- and he's running for President and she for VP !!!!

I have worked in the trauma bay and the ICU and I have never met a group of public servants more dedicated, self sacrificing, and perseverent. A woman can do any thing a man can do and many can do it better. Your statements are nonsensical. The problem with Palin is she just doesn't get it. It is a way of thinking that the Repubs get wrong. And BO is smart, politically savvy, and here when we need him the most. That is why Obama will win. Not from some prehistoric desire to keep women in their place. What stupid post.
