McCain offer up no real solutions to the American people, yet riding on the coat-tail of Barack Obama. They say Barack can't lead, but McCain is study following Barracks lead. Q: WHO IS THE LEADER? McCain played on the sympathy vote. Though McCain's service is commendable. We were flooded with the POW story every single night.

McCain even went so far as to say in his speech. It doesn't matter who
came up with the ideal (CHANGE).

What he was say in this statement was I STOLE your message of change, and you can't do anything about it.

Here we have the out and out right lying republicans. That introduce the american people to an unknown Gov. Palin, which is under all kinds of investigation. They don't want the media to interview her. Why? Because they are running out of campaign funds and want to use the media as free advertisement. How the media is fallen for this garbage is beyond me.

The media should vet Gov. Palin, just as they did with every other candidate. As she had the nerve to challage the media. Who do she thing she is? We need to know what make her so different. They hound the heck out of Barack Obama for over 18 mos. She is running for the 2nd highest office in the nation and the American people have every right to know who she is and want make her tick and her views on all the issue.

With that said, I don't know how so many people who claim to be so educationed can buy into this garbage that the republicans are trying to sale.

The media should dig into her back ground hard and heavy and should not drag their feet. They owe it to the American people. I do agree her children have nothing to do with the issue.

Voting "Present" 130 times as a state legislator is not leadership. Obama's and Biden's only experience is in the US Senate. Their total experience base is as Washington insiders. The media obliged the right by endlessly repeating their attacks on Obama's patriotism because he didn't wear a flag pin or allegedly didn't put hand on heart for the pledge. There has been nary a peep doubting Palin's patriotism on the grounds of her cozy relationship (including glowing praise in videos and being married to a member) with the AIP, a party that contends Alaska was tricked into joining the union and ought to get out. If that's not treason, it's a lot closer than not wearing a flag pin or being married to someone who expressed a lack of sufficient pride.

Is the media giving Palin a free ride on these and many other issues including trooper-gate and library-gate because they are so scared of the big bad Republicans saying they aren't being fair to the self proclaimed pit bull in lipstick? The GOP is using coercion and intimidation on the media for reporting on the infamous stories surrounding Sarah Palin. The media was only doing their job. Because of this they are playing the guilt trip on the media and using them to promote her ideas, some of them false, without allowing them an interview. This tactic will ensure everyone knows her and those false information she is touting, without any reporter or panelist having a chance to ask her a question or let her answer to all these allegations hanging over her head, such as: -

1. Why say you put the Gov. plane on Ebay and McCain boats she sold it at a profit when the plane was sold by private treaty at a loss of some $600,000.00

2 Why boast about saying no to the bridge to nowhere when she was first for it and when it became political expedient she was against it.

3 Why reassure parents with special needs children she will support their cause when she cut the budget for funding those special needs children in Alaska.

4 She declares she is not a part of Washington yet she used lobbyists to obtain $27m in earmarks.

I believe they plan to keep her away from the media for as long as it takes to get voters locked onto her and create a support base which they hope will stand firm even after the false and half truths come to light during the debate.

The media should close ranks on this and do not allow the GOP to manipulate them in this way. If GOP wants free press it should come with interviews, other wise any publicity she gets should be paid for.

The only thing that i heard from the entire Republican convention was they are going to do the same things that GW promised in 2000. none of those policies came to pass.

They trashed and demeaned Kerry's vietnam experience in 2004, and in 2008 they are praising McCain's and stating that he served in the military makes him qualified to be president.

another example, combined with many during the campaign that are a complete reversal of positions on issues. sexism was uncalled for when it was HRC bringing it up, but not one day after Palin is introduced she is screaming sexism. the Daily Show's clip outlining her position in the two is almost nauseating.

The RNC didn't bring up one policy issue in their whole convention, except to lie about Obama's tax plan, and to tout McCain's military experience as justification for leading the US out of Iraq. His fight fight fight cry at the end of his speech was given like a true fanatic, and his threats to non democratic nations by saying he knows how to stand up to any who dont agree with US democracy is a disgusting threat to world peace.

Their comes a time when you must accept differences as part of the human experience, the accepting of difference is the only cure to fundamentalist ideology. you can never cure Islamic fundamentalist ideology with christian fundamentalist ideology. that is just imposing a different set of shackles.

The corruption of the Republican party has been brought into light, personified by McCain taking advice from the very people who framed GW's campaigns in 2000 and 2004. They will continue to lie, smear their opponent, and work against the american people until they are removed from their perch, and forced to lose control over the top tier of the federal government.

There are very good people who belong to the Republican party, but they are allowing their reason to be deceived by the behind the scenes puppet masters who have no intention of acting on the behalf of the people. and for the past two years GW has used the veto on anything and everything that wasn't one of his party's pet bills, while the whole time railing that the Democratic congress is unable to accomplish anything. John McCain had is hand in this standoff, and wasn't so interested in Bi Partisanship then, so i have no reason to believe that he will be his stolen slogan "the agent of change".

This whole campaign by McCain has become a direct rip off of Obama's, and the two Bush campaigns. Swift Boating whenever and where ever possible, playing the playing the racism card, our VP candidtate can't talk to the sexist media when the truth of her character has been brought into question by ethical investigations and first hand accounts from people who didn't vote for her in her hometown elections.

it is sad how the christian conservatives can give their vote based on the issue of abortion, yet are so eager to send their grown children to war, committing some of the most evil and scarring crimes against humanity ever done and be happy because it is "God's will" being done. i'm fairly certain that Jesus was said to have never fought, and won't until the final battle between Satan for the gates of heaven. His message of love has been ignored because of perversions to the message and dreams of ideological supremacy.

This type of message from the leader of the US will remove the last vestige of trust that the world has in the US, and we can not be victorious when standing alone against the rest of the world community. Long have the enemies of this nation held her in high esteem because of the balance and good judgment that marked her. this is no longer the case, as her actions have proven to be selfish, petty, and hypocritical while claiming to hold to the platitudes of the past. Continuing on this path will only lead to worse tensions and a decision by the world that america is not to be trusted because her leaders don't keep their word, and their actions are unjust.

This is the situation, and a POW who likes to shoot from the hip, and is easily prone to snap decisions without thinking the situation through will not improve this situation, but they will instead intensify the dislike for american goals in the world.

Please understand that the republican party has nominated a spokesmodel for the religions right, the most breathtakingly unquailfied person ever nominated for national office. No person of either sex with her qualifications should be considered for v.p. As a woman I am embarrassed that she does not understand this herself and feel humiliated as they parade her with scripted one liners, and keep her from any opportunity to be evaluated by the american people. We are supposed to believe she could stand up to Putin, but not to the likes of Tom Brokow???

Women deserve far better than Sarah Palin. The country deserved better than the dishonorable campaign John McCain is running...Country first? I don't think so. It's election first, then let the country deal with the disaster that might occur should Sarah Palin ever be asked to take the oval office.

As Governor, she gave the Legislature no direction and budget guidelines, then made a big grandstand display of line-item vetoing projects, calling them pork. Public outcry and further legislative action restored most of these projects -- which had been vetoed simply because she was not aware of their importance -- but with the unobservant she had gained a reputation as “anti-pork”.
She also was for the bridge to no where, and only changed recently. She has accpeted earmarks and lobbied for them as mayor and as governor.

But she stays to the Republican narrative: say things often enough and people will accept it as true. Let's change the narrative to research for the facts and act on those.

I recall McCain insisting that he will conduct a campaign based on issues and refrain from personal attacks. Since, locking the nomination all McCain has done is send his attack dogs after Obama.
