Charlie Gibson did a good job interviewing Sarah Palin. But I don't think he should have helped her with the answers. Charlie should not have told Sarah Palin what the Bush Doctrin was, you could tell she didn't have a clue. Charlie should have just kept letting her try and figure it out; and see just how big of a fool of herself she could make. You could tell by the way she spoke as she answered all the questions he asked her she was repeating what she had memorized from a few days before.

Unless she opens up to all the press and public I do not see how we can consider someone that we know less about then the bag boy at our local grocery store? Anyone who saw this knows that Palin had no clue what the Bush Doctrine is. Then she tried to get Gibson to let her off the hook by asking Gibson what he meant by his question. This isn't unexpected in an inexperienced candidate, if 20% of the population at large could answer that question I would be surprised.
When she was quick to volunteer we might have to go to war with Russia-that was disconcerting, to be sure. But here is the bottom line-we no longer expect our presidents to be exceptional. It's much more important that they be of the people-I guess it's better for our fragile egos-not better for the country-but better for our egos.
Personally-I would like my president to be so intellectually gifted and challenging that the Curtis LeMays and Dick Cheneys of their administration would be demanded to make their cases before carpet bombing Cuba or invading Iraq, instead of being so out of their depth that they have no choice but to defer to someone with more of a clue.
Those days appear LONG gone. And as we've seen-our slow decline in power and relevance will not be slowed by the parade of simpletons we insist on electing to the white house-but don't we at least feel better?

The interview highlighted how completely unprepared she is on day one. The fact that she didn't hesitate at all when asked to join the ticket is revealing. Anyone should hesitate and give something this serious a lot of thought. She was visibly shaking and her voice was tremulous.

Her answer about Israel was also very telling and chilling. She would blindly follow Israel into a war without question? Last time I checked we don't take our orders from Israel. This may appeal to the jewish voter, but how does middle America feel about that.

This woman cannot be allowed to be one heartbeat away from the presidency. She is NOT ready. PERIOD. People need to wake up. You may like her, but she has no understanding of foreign policy and in a world as dangerous as this one, we cannot afford this kind of ignorance. From what I saw on ABC's website, I was quite disappointed at her lack of understanding. The Bush doctrine changed so many different things in regards to US foreign policy and made us look (and act in some ways) as bullies of the world. To attack first is dangerous since many follow our example.

This woman thinks there is going to be an Epic War in Israel (armageddon) during her lifetime. Scary stuff, if one has read Revalations. The Bush Doctrine does not exist. It was created by the MSM and 98% of americans had probably never heard of it either. Most people on this board are so blinded by their hatred for Bush that they have been willing to fall in line like millions of lemmings behind a man that has never done anything to resemble change or reform. BO even admitted that being a community organizer was not getting anything done. Additionally, while pointing out that we would be nuts to vote for someone who only voted against Bush 10% of the time, he voted along party lines 97% of the time. so we'd be inclined to be more nuts to vote for someone that reached across the aisle or went against the grain 3% of the time.
