What's happened is that the "house of cards" that the Demoncrats have built with artificial supports, etc. has prevented the market from incrementally self-regulating, so we have an exaggerated correction from time to time. McCain/Palin keep suggesting that raising taxes on the wealthy and corporations will take away our jobs. My question is, aren't the wealthy and corporations operating under the generous Bush tax cuts NOW? And if so, why have we lost so many jobs in 2008 alone, creating the highest unemployment rate in 5-6 years. If it's this bad under tax cuts, I am all for taxing the rich and using that money to truly create new jobs.

If Palin/McCain, in that order, is elected in November, the media will have to shoulder a lot of the blame. Constantly talking up and defending Palin as if she were some first rate politician with the experience to run a country, any country, is so ridiculous, biased and exactly what McCain needs and the media is happy to comply. I only wish the media would stop insulting my intelligence by shoving Palin down my throat on a daily basis. I want to hear more about Obama and less about Palin/McCain. It's time. And what is c.todd talking about in an earlier post anyway, he says the campaign doing the whining never wins, well with the help of the media, Palin/McCain can whine all they want and still be ahead in the polls. Isn't this the second time he's been linked to a banking scandal(remember the Keating 5). What does it say about McCain that he spends no time vetting his running mate and then sends lawyers to help stall an ethic investigation? It says to me he makes rash decisions and has bad judgement! I wish the media would stop putting Giuliani in the spotlight. He is a disgrace to all Americans and especially the memory of those who lost their life on 9/11...Now with that said McCain's speech is just another example of what Obama/Biden have been saying all along. He doesn't have a freaking clue. Has he even talked to ANYONE who lost their jobs and is having a hard time with unemployment or trying to make ends meet on a daily basis ? 84,000 people have lost their jobs last month. How many has he sat down with ? How many middle class Americans who are having a hard time right now that make too much money for government assistance, but are not rich enough to get by in basic things with inflating prices like gas, milk, bread etc ? How many college students has he spoken with about not being able to afford education and qualify for good schools ? How many people has he spoken too about the health care crisis and losing their homes in order to get medical treatment? There are plenty of videos available of Obama doing it, but not one single thing on McCain. Anyone can give a good speech behind a podium, but it doesn't mean a hill of beans if you don't go directly in the town and get down in the face of these people affected. He doesn't give a rat's behind and America needs to wake up and realize that a pair of glasses and lipstick is not the solution !
