Unless John McCain has held executive office I am not clear where his "experience" comes from. His judgement is flawed and made even more evident by his choice of a running mate. However, the media gives him a pass. Because prior to the selections from either presidential candidate it was stated that this is selection will tell alot about them? Now because McCain has so obviously chose the gimmicky choice, it is not an area that is being discussed. Let's recognize that the economy has gone to hell but we somehow push the Republican narrative.

Colin Powell, what is the advantage to having another Republican Administration for another 4 years? Most of us in this country can see DC needs to be cleaned out. I bet you understand that. So why can't you say so? This is not an election where one should remain "loyal" just for the sake of remaining loyal.

Aren't you even aware how Senator John McCain voted on veterans' issues, and he himself is a veteran? He sold out our military.

It's hard to imagine that Colin Powell could possibly want to continue the policies of the past 8 years. He's a smarter man than that.

All I can say, sir, if you read this, is consider what has happened to America since 2000.

* Consider that Iran is now stronger than it was before the lies and failed policies of George W. Bush.
* Consider that the billions borrowed to pay for this war and this surge continues to trash this economy.
* Consider that it is the failed "trickle down" policies of deregulation of banking and mortgage industries led by none other than the top economic adviser of McCain - Phil "nation of whiners" Gramm that has brought us to where we are today.
* Consider that real change couldn't possibly make it worse than it is right now.

And sir, consider how easily John McCain has traded his honor for the lies, smears and half-truths of the likes of Tucker Eskew -- the man who brought "mcCain has a black baby" into the Republican primary in S.C. in 2000... yet John McCain holds his nose AND HIRES THAT DISHONORABLE SWIFTBOATER to run his campaign in 2008.

Powell WANTS to stay loyal to the GOP, but he just can't in good conscience bring himself to do it. So the best course of action (for now) is to stay neutral.
